We got take out from here and thought it was pretty good. Tried the tacos, enchiladas verde, and birria tacos. Everything was tasty and ordering online was simple although the confirmation email showed a difference in pick up time. When I called the restaurant, it was correct so not sure what happened.

Parking in this mall was no problem. It could be a challenge finding the restaurant at a corner if it's your first time around. They have tables outside for summer too. We took one on the inside cause it is pretty and they have AC :) Service was very attentive although a bit slow. Many hands involved but I don't think too many in the actual kitchen. They send our order in two parts. Meaning that my party started without me. This took quite a while. Tortilla soup was tasty BUT it is not real soup tortilla. Watery and no cream with grilled chicken? Come on! Anyways, as a regular soup was good. Mole was good but yhey rice had a better taste!! The only thing I would add are vegetables to it. That would make it a real Mexican rice because it was very good! Carne asada dish was also amazing. Soft beef :D I would add hand made tortillas instead of grocery store purchased for the price. I would ask them to please double check the exceptions make to certain orders. It could be a terrible allergy or life problem if not catched on time :(

Love this place!! Tried it twice and loved it both time and can't wait to try more of the menu. Love the ambience and the staff is always friendly Let's talk foodChips and salsa trio - yes you order this (it's not free lol) and yes it's worth it. One of these guys is hot (sorry can't remember which) but great flavors Pollo en Mole Rojo - this is killer, very yummy and you choose two sides to go with. Very well cooked and the mole is truly special Chimichanga - yeah I'm a sucker for a chimichanga, this is a lovely version of it, tried it with their spicy fries which were awesome and brussel sprouts. I would like the chicken inside to be a tad more saucy/have peppers or onions inside but it doesn't take away from the dish Tacos de Birria - hearty and tasty a good version of the Birria but not the best we've had

Finally had the chance to order from Cava Azul - one of the newest additions to the neighborhood! I was impressed with the Shrimp Veracruz dish as the choices for the sides were different than at most restaurants with similar entrees. I had unique and delicious sides rather than rice and beans. We had two kids under 4 with us so we ordered on Uber Eats and the order was at the door in less than 30 minutes - incredible! Can't wait to eat in the restaurant soon!

Cava Azul is a self-proclaimed "modern" Mexican restaurant in Woodinville. The menu mostly looks fairly normal with a few unusual items to explore. The most modern thing about them is they charge for chips and salsa. They have been doing this since last year (2022) as far as I know, so it is not due to this year's hyper inflations. The interior design come across as modern with a Mexican twist. Service was nonchalant, as though they're French. We flagged them down for attention. Call me crazy; I prefer homey Mexican vibe and service. Parking is plentiful. The Food:CAB Marinated Steak Fajita, $23 - 2.5 StarsHubby said it tasted oddly tomato-y with not enough grilled/charred/sizzle flavor. I looked at it and said it does look like a stir-fry. I asked if it tastes like the Chinese tomato beef over rice. He said sort of. Unfortunately, that is not a compliment if one desires a sizzling fajita. On the plus side, it was a heaping pile of food with a nice arrangement of sides that filled him up. It couldn't have been worse (again, not a compliment).Shrimp Salsa Verde, $23 - 4 StarsSix large prawns covered with creamy tomatillo sauce, served with jicama slaw and Spanish rice. I requested no beans. This dish can be considered "modern". The char of the shrimps is excellent. (The fajita needed to look more like this.) The rice is more than I need. The jicama veggie slaw is the type I like, without heavy mayo.Salsa - one cup - $1We opted against ordering the chips and salsa trio. I asked if I can order just one salsa; I eat Spanish rice only with salsa. She said it's a $1. Sure, fair enough. Again, it couldn't have been worse (again, not a compliment).

Nice portion size shrimp enchiladas, but sides were disappointing. Nieve Frita dessert was awesome.

My new go to for local Mexican sit down. Guacamole is very good, but only if you like chunky. The wait staff is great, super friendly and wonderful when asking for recommendations. I have had the same waitress a few times and she never stears me wrong. I usually get the prickly pear margarita, but this time she recommended the cucumber skinny margarita. Great drink and was on special for $11. Their margaritas are a bargin for what you get. And the best part, is I am GF so I really like that I can get the GF chile Relleno. Highly recommend!

This is a good Mexican food restaurant. We ordered the birria and carne asada tacos, both tacos were very good. For sides we ordered rice, plantains, brussels sprouts, and Mexican corn. The rice was very good, the plantains were over breaded and hard to taste the plantain flavor. The brussels sprouts were a bit overdressed, and hard to taste. the flavor of the brussels sprouts. The Mexican corn was good, but there was too much sour cream infused with the corn. We also ordered the chips and trio salsas. Two of the three salsas were very hot, but had decent flavor. The service was very good, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.

On a whim, we chose to go to this place last night. Wasn't a small party. There was about 7 of us and they got us in fast. Service was awesome. The place is clean. The bar is a good, cute size and well, clean. I look for weird stuff like that. Drinks were delicious. We had skinny margaritas and regular ones. All tasted good! The food and presentation were on point. We used to love going to caliente in town and we really enjoyed it but they raised their prices and service got bad. So, we stopped. This will be our new spot and we will tell others. Please keep doing what you're doing. All of us tried a bit of everything. We loved the salsa they brought to the table with chips. Fresh!!! The guacamole is worth the $9 too. Check them out. Support local. Thanks for being in woodinville, we needed this!

I went to Cava Azul for the first time tonight with a large group. We got there in time to order some items from the Happy Hour menu and some others from the regular menu. - Ceviche: 4 stars. The tuna was fresh and although it has a different taste and presentation than expected, I found it tasty. - Seafood enchiladas: 2 stars. They were disappointing. The sauce overpowered everything else and they had very little seafood.- Nachos. 5 stars. Very generous portion and loaded with chicken, cheese, etc.- Bacon wrapped jalapeños. 5 stars. Perfectly made - Calamari. 2 stars. Skip it. The service was great and we liked that we were seated on a large and comfy table and in a quiet area.
