Castaways

Great potato skins. Great BLT and drinks. Went in and played beer bingo. The people are fun and the service was good. How is it that small bars and cheap food and drinks never disappoint? Lol

Castaways is a shithole - stay away I should have known when we pulled in it wasn't the right place to be, crack dealer in parking lot selling to patrons. Was too hungry to go elsewhere after drive from Las Vegas and an early flight the next day, Ordered a beer, breaded mushrooms, Hot dog and the Castey sandwich, after an hour wait and second beer I asked about our food, bartender said it was coming. Another beer and three more goups of people got served after we arrived and still no food, the people that arrived 1 hour after us got their pizza / nachos. After waiting 2 hour and 3 beers later I told the bartender to cash me out for the beer and we are going elsewhere to eat, The cook is a lazy SOB that only wants to make pizza and nachos. When he poked his head out of the kitchen I let him know it too. Stay away from Castaways, from my experience they only cater to locals and crackheads.

After a quick search for nearby food, we wandered into Castaways. The vibe was dive bar and it took a few minutes to even see a staff person to help us. After checking our ID's (which slightly confused us since we never ordered any alcohol) and dealing with a overly drunk customer, we got our order in for a couple pizzas, cheesy bread, and macaroni bites. And waters which he said he'd give two pitchers for. A few of us went to the restrooms, worried what to expect but were pleased with very clean bathrooms! The entire place seems clean, with some dive bar clutter but with clean tables, floors, chairs, menus, etc. We were given plastic cups for our requested water, they were very dirty and seemed melted - appearing as though they had been in a dishwasher. We threw them out and asked for new ones, and the bar tender was happy to replace them. Our water pitchers were not entirely clean either (although we chose to ignore since service wasn't the greatest). After seeing the "no waitress" sign, we realized it was one bar tended and one cook working. All orders came through the bar which spots filled quickly after arriving. We took a seat across the bar, outside in a high top. While waiting, we noticed a dead fly in our parmesan shaker. We also had the bar tender come up 20 minutes after ordering to tell us they were out of macaroni bites but he didn't know all the available apps....we finally got it figured out and were eager for a tasty lunch! It took over 30 minutes for our order to start coming out but I will say it was WORTH THE WAIT! Our table was sooo curious how it's be and we all agreed it was one of the best pizzas we have ever had - wow! Cheesy, plenty of toppings, the crust was so fresh and tasty, all of the things! Even the potato skins were the best we had, paired with delicious homemade ranch! My fiancé and I will crave this often from Minnesota and encourage others to try it out - be sure to have time to wait as it's a smaller place with less staff but so worth it and yummy! If it wasn't for the quality of the food, cleanliness, and kindness of the staff (when they weren't busy helping others), I would have rated this place a 2 but they truly have delicious food and kind staff (a man with a Boston accent, he told us where it's from and a lady cook). When I'm the area, head over for yummy food! And they had horse racing, pull tabs, and cheap beer!

The food here is GRRREAT. Love the sandwiches and salads. I don't think you could go wrong. The service is good as well. Nothing beats a dive bar with delicious bar food. So many options. Also they have a cute little patio you can smoke on, it's a perk these days at a bar.

We Loved Castaways! Our flight was delayed and we needed a place to hang out! This place was perfect! The food was great, we had the "Ranch Hand" Turkey sandwich- oh my... it was huge! Perfect for Splitting! My brother and his wife had the Old School Pizza, delicious!!! The cook came out and check with us! Couldn't be more pleased!Highly recommend- good cold beer also!

LOVE their footlong toasted sandwiches and beer selection! Haven't tried other items on the menu but I will keep going back for their sammies. If you're a fan of toasted sandwiches, stop here. They have many to please the palate. But prepare to pay a little more for them than a national shop. Totally worth it.

No idea what the food is like. After being ignored while sitting at the bar for 5 minutes, I used the restroom and walked out. The bar was l perhaps half seated but these two were too busy watching television and fumbling around. The restroom is a mess, but not as bad as a public gas station restroom.

Great food and great service. If you are getting one of the sandwiches, beware . . . They are huge. One sandwich could feed two people! Also has onsite sports betting.

This is a fun little dive bar to go to! My friends and I came in for beer and pizza. Everyone was really friendly and the staff was great.They allow dogs which is a huge benefit for my Nala. They even brought her water and snacks which I thought was very kind!The tator tots and churros are so delicious for appetizer or quick treat!I'm not much of a gambler but the rest of the group got really into the horse betting along with the majority of the bar!

Brand new menu and they kept so many of the old amazing items!! Once you have the food here you'll understand! Great dive with great food, a RARE combo! And FYI, The OTB crowd is pretty much gone, just locals hanging and airport groups stopping in for a start or end to their visit!
