This place is amazing, I signed up for the wine club immediately. The inside and outside ambience are both great, with two outdoor patios and plenty of indoor seating. I highly recommend coming for a relaxing Tuesday, Jazz nights with a glass of wine and one of the only nights they do their flatbreads. The staff are all incredibly attentive and friendly, the wait might look long but it never is so don't be intimidated. If you see Maddie or Alan behind the bar you're in for a great afternoon or night.

Such a great place! Everything from their outdoor seating area that's dog-friendly to indoor space to their wine and food selection. This is conveniently located on the opposite side of the parking lot of Liberty Station food hall and it's fairly easy to find parking with all of the lots/street parking around. There is a huge "wine garden" sign welcoming you and a nice outdoor area to hang out and drink/eat. I particularly liked the indoor area with their large bar and seating along the walls. All of the ladies working were super friendly and helpful as well! This trip I ordered the Bartender Choice flight reds and I enjoyed them all. My favorite was probably the Tempranillo. Our table also sampled a bunch of different food items with my favorite being the warm ginger molasses cookie. This is a great addition to Liberty Station and I will be back!

Theresa handled everything unassisted with skill and diplomacy. Whatever you pay her is not enough.

As a longtime fan of Carruth Cellars from their charming Little Italy days, I was admittedly a bit wistful about their move to the new Liberty Station location. That cozy, romantic urban winery vibe is somewhat lost amidst the more family-friendly, open-air surroundings.Don't get me wrong, the outdoor patio area is lovely and provides a welcome casual atmosphere. But as my friend and I bellied up to the indoor bar on a recent weekend visit, we couldn't help but miss the intimate ambiance of the old Italian-themed space. Rambunctious kiddos running around outside put a bit of a damper on the intended relaxing wine tasting experience.Once settled at the bar though, the excellent service quickly won us over. We were promptly greeted and didn't want for refills as we slowly savored a smooth, fruity Syrah from their quality wine list. The real standout was the crostini flight - an ample sampler of different cheeses, spreads, and toppings artfully arranged on crispy baguette slices. From the sweet and tangy fig gouda to the earthy pesto hummus and bright lemon-thyme chevre, it was a flavor-packed accompaniment to the vino.My only other small quibble was that we felt a tad rushed out around 8:30pm despite the posted 10pm closing time. I would have preferred a more leisurely pace to fully enjoy the evening without feeling like we were loitering too long. All in all, however, Carruth still delivers on the most important aspects - warm hospitality, delightful wine, and delicious bites. The new location may cater to a broader crowd, but the stellar product remains intact. While a nostalgic part of me yearns for those Little Italy vibes, I'm keeping an open mind and palate as they settle into their new Liberty Station home. Here's hoping they find that sweet spot of lively yet relaxing evenings amidst the changing scenery.

This place is perfect for relaxing in an afternoon/evening and enjoying a glass of wine and some food. It's kind of hidden in liberty station but once you find it they have a large patio with lots of seating and also heaters when it gets chillier. We both had wine flights and also got a charcuterie board that was perfect for the two of us. The cheeses were delicious and the wine was great. Highly recommend for a relaxing afternoon!

It just feels like home here in this Liberty Station winery. The reds are perfect for a cool rainy evening and you'll be friends with the entire bar staff before you leave. Try the Barrel Select Cabernet Sauvignon for a delicious treat.

The outdoor setting is beautiful. Market lights. Colorful chairs. Drought resistant greenery. Just gorgeous. The service is great as well. Go inside. Order a glass, bottle or flight of wine and bring your number outside. I got the build your own cheeseboard with Manchego, olives, honeycomb and gluten free crackers. The wedge Cesar looked amazing as well. I got a glass of the Rose of Pinot Noir. Decent. And they offer free still and sparkling water.

This is, literally, one of our favorite places in San Diego. Either for a Saturday afternoon hang out, or a date night place to relax, Carruth is ideal. It has it's own courtyard, tucked away from the foot traffic of liberty station. It also has a bar / interior space that is, frankly, liminal, being some where near eccentric and cozy, all at once. The patio is dog friend (big bonus in my book), with multiple types of seating options and seems to handle multiple small groups with ease. The staff has always been knowledgeable, and always cheery. They have a narrow variety of food options, but the ones you'd expect with wine typically. Unexpected is a grilled cheese sandwich that makes you throw rocks at your childhood standard. Hard to manage, and harder to quantify, and sounding a bit ridiculous when I say it out loud, but they get the vibe right. It's never raucous, but also, never pretentious. There's always a wide variety of The wines are, no joke, good amongst the many place we've been. Enough so we became members.

Amazing place to hang out with friends, and I love how close it is to the airport. There are wine and cheese pairings, music a couple of times a week, the wine selection is great and the food is delicious! I heavily recommend joining their wine club, you get WAY more than you pay for! (Feel free to put me down as your reference ;) )Madi and Alan are so much fun to chat with and have the best customer service, we love coming in to visit them!
