Carolina BBQ

The variety of food is not diverse. The food was cold and I went at 11:55 which is lunch time. The staff was not friendly and the prices were to high for what little was offered

If you are on a roadtrip from the Northeast US, this is the place to stop for lunch. Bring your appetite, don't be put off but the decor, the food is always fresh and good. We plan to stop again on our next road trip. Something for everyone here.

For the Weldon location:I have eaten a lot of barbeque and this is by far the most disappointing. The ordering process is far from organized. I ordered the sandwich with fries, and out of 10 it's about a 2 because there were no flies and the slaw wasn't awful. The staff is pleasant but not enough to make up for the cue that tastes like it's from Jersey.

It was dirty, dank, food on floor and tables, and smelled awful. No one acknowledged us, nor offered assistance. I think the Health Dept needs to visit more often.

Terrible option. We stopped on our way back to CT and the only good thing was the staff. Everyone was friendly. The buffet was typical southern food but it just looked disgusting. The best thing I had was a roll without the fluffy buttery spread that tasted like margarine that was open in a fridge for weeks. I joked a few times that it resembled the Vegas buffet from national lampoons Vegas vacation.Mom tip- The changing station was broken so don't plan on bringing a baby in the restroom & the men's room doesn't have one either.

Good Eastern North Carolina Que and Fried Chick to order or you may decide on the hot buffet with lots of fixins, vegetables, dessert and such to choose from prepared and cooked onsite.

Not a great selection, and after many attempts to like the food here, I can honestly say it wasn't a bad day in the kitchen that made the BBQ taste off. The Brunswick Stew is more of a soup, and the other foods taste like the can they came out of. I get that it's not fresh cooked veggies, but some attempt to season them would be appreciated. And when they have seafood, it's certainly frozen, advertised as fresh, and tastes awful. The building has a lot of potential for large groups of people, I just really wish that a decent restaurant could get into that building. For the money and the taste, I'd have to suggest Ralph's BBQ down the road. Leave Carolina BBQ and head west on NC-158/ Jillian Allsbrook Hwy. Pass by the Waffle House, go under I-95, and continue until you pass another Waffle House and 2 hotels. There will be a large BP station on your right, begin looking left and you lol see Ralph's BBQ, 1400 Julian R Allsbrook Hwy. Or go just past that to Frazier's and have some great beef tips.

Local, authentic, & homemade comfort food! Awesome buffet price (compared to home for me in NJ) at adults ~$8 and take out menu meal deals! This place needs more reviews & ratings!

I came in for supper after a long drive from NY and was happy to find a wide variety of Southern dishes in the buffet: fried chicken, ribs (yum!), collard greens and black eyed peas. Simple Southern fare , friendly staff. Pretty basic decor but that's not what I came for. Very reasonable prices, too.
