Wagyu was a once in a lifetime experience, still drooling thinking about it. Got the king crab appetizer and was disappointed in the portion sizes. I wish portion sizes were larger for the price they'd like to charge otherwise this would be a 5/5. Ambience is very dark and romantic, but even though this is an extremely upscale restaurant, you don't need cocktail attire. Service was great, server explained things very well and was attentive. Helped clean off our table when we got a little messy.

We visited with family and friends after a graduation ceremony (party of six). Ordered a porterhouse snd tomahawk (sharing size), red snapper, three appetizers (tuna tartare, beef tartare, salad) plus four sides to share - was a good portion for all. Ambiance is wonderful and food was cooked perfectly. One annoyance was they were very quick at taking our plates away, even though my silverware were not positioned to signal I'm done - and the waiter did not ask - he just bussed my plate away even when our appetizers were only half gone. Also ordered their ice cream flambé - more of a show, tasted ok.

I went in for an early dinner in the middle of the week and can honestly say this is one of the best dinner experiences I've ever had in Nashville.Every single dish was amazing. All of them. From the appetizers to the drinks to desserts. The service was like something out of a movie. Their timing and approach was perfect.The restaurant is bright and walled in by windows. And they're doing a great job with sound reduction, because it was easy to sit at a larger table and have a conversation.This is the perfect spot for an upscale celebration.

We originally had reservations at another place for Saturday night but found a few reviews on this place. I'm Italian and a pretty good chef, so I thought I'd give it a chance. The ambiance is perfect, just a bit loud if you're trying to have an intimate conversation. The lighting was so low that we had to use our flashlights on our phones to be able to read the menu.All of those issues were minor and yet typical for an 8pm dinner reservation, but the experience was less than typical. The maître d' was the best part of the evening. The server was less than personal, and the food was subpar. I don't mind paying $200 for a fantastic Italian meal, but this was nothing special. It's a bit hard to say that, but I do respect true reviews from Yelpers, and I have to be honest.I am not sure that I'd give this place a second chance other than to speak with the chef and get his take on the quality of presentation of his creations.

This place is stellar! Service 10/10Server recommendations 10/10Food 10/10We were a large group and ordered a few ribeye steaks to share with a handful of sides, salads & pastas.The salads are definitely large enough to share between 2 people. Very tasty I might add.The interior reminds me of an old school steakhouse with the darker colored booths and large menus.The desserts were decadent as you would expect from this type of steakhouse.We all left very happy with our restaurant selection!

Excellent. Just excellent! Was here for a work dinner and had a limited chefs menu but, my gosh! So amazing! From service to food to drinks just wonderful! I was only to grab pictures of the appetizers - we had lobster lettuce wraps and mozzarella sticks with caviar (WOW!) just wonderful

I made a quick getaway trip to Nashville to celebrate my wedding anniversary. One would point out, aren't you from New York and have a Carne Mare there? Yes, I am in Nashville but C'mon. It's Chef Andrew Carmellini who owns some of the coolest restaurants on the planet. Earlier this year, I was at Rec Pier Chop House in Baltimore for a family celebration, location isn't an issue.Walking inside the restaurant, the decor is simply stunning. It's dark but not clubby like a typical steakhouse with lots of wood. Carne Mare has a very sophisticated feel without being too stuffy. Everyone working at Carne Mare was approachable and very friendly. Once seated, we're given a wine list. I ordered a nice glass of Italian wine to get the party started. We're going over the menu items and mozzarella sticks topped with caviar leaps off the page. It doesn't go together, it's like peanut butter and pickles. Yet, its there. We went against the grain and ordered the dish. What the heck did we order? Chef, I'm sure the mozzarella was made in house. I do not eat mozzarella sticks, it tasted like frozen Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks! So not a fan but I want it to be noted, We're not here for mozzarella sticks but some of that Carne. I have to point out, the bread that's brought to the table? If I had a glass of wine and the bread then I'd be a happy pappy. The bread is so good, it's a chef'd up, masterclass creation being used to every patron at Carne Mare.It's dark and I dropped a fork. Our table is in the back, close to the kitchen. All of a sudden, one of the floor managers comes to the table and gives me a new silverware set? Folks, that is just fantastic customer service. Our waitress is selling us on the Prime Rib. It's the restaurants specialty and its why it's highlighted in a box on the menu. I'm Italian and if I don't have pasta once a week I get cranky. I'm here to try the Pappardelle as well so I'm sold on the Prime Rib!I must point out, the waitress? She said this was her last week but boy was she spectacular. She read the menu and knew about every item and how it was prepared. The wait staff here is truly top notch.The Prime Rib cuts like butter. It's so tender and flavorful, it's a perfect cut and highly recommended. Personally my favorite, the Pappardelle is a home run. I know we're dining at a steakhouse but man oh man this pasta is from a Chef who trained in Italy. The Pappardelle with mint is heavenly. Sooo good!The restaurant was nice enough to give us housemade gelato and a piece of chocolate cake for our anniversary.Chef Carmellini, it truly was a pleasure to dine in your Nashville restaurant. I will be on line this Saturday morning at Lafayette in NYC. Keep rockin'!

In my eyes, Carne Mare is a five-star restaurant... keep reading to learn why today's review is (an incredibly high-end) four! Last night, my family celebrated our last fam dindin for a little while. As a huge foodie, I challenged my parents to discover a new place for us to try, a process that took longer than I'd like to admit. We ultimately landed on Carne Mare, a land of exciting mystery. As soon as we walked in the door, we were more than impressed. The setting is classy and homey, perfectly underscoring the lighting, wooden features, and spatial organization. Our waitress, Penny, was friendly, kind, and eager to answer even some of our more meticulous questions :). Each dish was delectable, and the combination of our ordered plates meshed perfectly for our palettes. We started by sharing the Caesar Salad... best one I've ever had (shoutout grated croutons)!!! My sister and I shared the Prime Striploin, which we had Pittsburgh style -- this is my hack to any and all steaks to add some texture, and it was mouth-watering. We all got some sides of sweet corn and broccolini, which excellently complemented our mains. Finally, the 17 Layer Chocolate Cake was divinely rich, my dream dessert after an unforgettable dinner. The sole reason I am giving Carne Mare four stars is because my mom did not enjoy one of the song selections, a rap tune that she felt "didn't fit the vibe." Beyond this, Carne Mare was the most fantastic surprise!!!! I hope to return soon.
