Located a couple blocks from my work, this is a favorite for team lunches. They are able to get us in and out in a reasonable time. Their assortment of rolls is vast. Each of us picks a roll and we share family style - they have all been great choices too.Service is friendly and we even got a free coffee drink one time. Prices are fair for sushi. Parking is plentiful.

I came here for dinner with 2 friends. We ordered the following to share:- salmon roll - sunshine roll- spicy tuna roll- shrimp tempura roll- pink roll- spicy salmon roll- edamame We found it rather odd that some of the menu items were 50% off, but their price seemed a bit elevated for a regular roll, so why not just charge a regular price? I guess there's a perception that we're saving, but we didn't really since the rolls were rather basic.The wait staff was attentive, but we found that for a slow night, it took quite a while to get our food. We enjoyed each other's company and didn't mind the wait. Overall, we enjoyed the food. The restaurant was not very well decorated. One wall was completely empty and could use some decor.

Located in a suite of the Torrey Corner Shopping Center, Carmel Sushi is the new name, however it's the same owners as the previous restaurant. Parking was plentiful in the common lot shared by the neighboring businesses. Since I had never visited Zip Fusion before, I can't comment if there were any modifications made to the interior decor. The seating capacity including the sushi bar area was sufficient for approximately 60 diners.The two-sided menu was a hybrid of Japanese and Korean offerings. There was a separate sheet dedicated to photos of the special and premium maki rolls. One aspect that I have seen elsewhere was the inflated pricing for some of the sushi that was then discounted 50% for dine-in and 40% for takeout. I wish sushi eateries would be straightforward with the costs instead of trying to make it seem like there was such a great deal. If these discounts are applied, then when would there be a scenario in which a customer would pay the full listed prices? I can't think of one.Anyway, onto my meal... I selected the Fantastic Four from the list of premium rolls as my first item. This was a rectangular roll cut into six pieces made up of a base layer of spicy tuna and rice. It was topped with tuna, yellowtail, salmon, red snapper, and sliced lemon. The shape was unique as I have rarely encountered a rectangular roll for sushi. The acid from the lemon provided a nice contrast to the fish.The other items I chose were Scallop nigiri, Snapper nigiri, and an Eel and Avocado handroll. The nigiri was served in two pieces. The texture of the scallop was a bit slimier than what I have tasted elsewhere. The snapper and the handroll were okay in terms of quality. The food didn't take too long to prepare, and the service from the waiter was adequate. I rated my dining experience at Carmel Sushi with 3.5 stars.

I have the pleasure of coming here often and I've had the Yellowtail Sashimi as well as the crispy rice, and a few of their rolls (Sensual Pleasure, Hamachi Lover) If you're looking for Japanese cuisine with a harmony of Korean items, this is the spot for you! Our server Harry was both friendly and attentive and Kay and Kevin care greatly about the customers' wellbeing and dining experience :)Great parking too and a warm space, will be continuing to come back ~
