Captain Sam's Fish & Chicken

Was craving some seafood and did not want to spend an arm and leg while in San Diego. My brother and I were just looking for a casual place to order to-go and take back to our airBnB to eat and this place was perfect!It is super casual and literally a order to-go place only as it is located inside a liquor store and there is no seating around. They open later until 10pm. Parking was easy. It is located inside a strip mall. The prices here were great for seafood. We both got the combo which was $18 which came with your choice of fried fish (2 pieces) and either oysters (3), whole wings (3), tenders (2), shrimp (5) along with your choice of side (fries, macaroni salad, or coleslaw and 2 slices of bread. No drink however. I got my combo with cod, shrimp, and fries. My brother got his with catfish, wings, and coleslaw. It was alot of food and very filling! I did like the catfish better than the cod. Everything tasted fresh and they cooked everything so order... so no fried foods sitting under a heat lamp! All the stuff was crispy and tasty! The cashier was friendly and food came out quick. There was only 1 person in front of us when we went. I did see that they have some lunch specials for only $8, which is a great deal!Would I come here again? Yes I would!! They have many other items I saw that I would like to try next time!!

They charge you 41.99 when add say 34.99 say they serving catfish not it swai cheap substitute restaurants using not charging higher price. The fish is harable FAKE CATFISH DONT PURCHASE.

The restaurant is located inside a liquor store so there's no tables. I haven't had fish n chips in years. I decided to check this place due to the positive reviews. The reviews don't lie! I ordered catfish. It was well seasoned and well crisped. The inside was juicy and not dry. The fries were also well seasoned. The one guy that worked behind the counter and cooked my food was very nice and easy going. I will definitely be back!

This place is located inside a convenience market / liquor store. The fried chicken and fish are sooo good. Batter is nice and crispy and the flavors are on point! I like to go here when I'm craving some deep fried stuff. Not to mention the price is extremely affordable for what you get!

Good but not great. I will go back to give them another shot but on my first visit, the fish was so greasy that cooking oil was literally dripping off. Flavors, service, and price were all pretty solid though.

I moved back into the area about a month ago and I stumbled upon Captain Sam's while venturing to the liquor store that it is located in. This is my first restaurant I've been in that is inside of a liquor store so I of course was thrown off. The staff is always so kind and willing to help you decide what to order. I've been here about 3 times which is saying a lot for me being in the area such little time. The food is absolutely delicious and always cooked to perfection. The seasoning they dust on the food makes everything come together in harmony. I always recommend this spot as the pricing isn't too bad either. To make things even more convenient it is located inside of a store where you can grab whatever drink to accommodate to your meal!

Wonderful service yesterday afternoon on 09/03/2023 from Adrien & Martin!!! They were getting their cook on!!! The food was bomb!!!! Well worth it and plenty of food to go around too!!!! It was only my second time here ever at Captain Sam's Fish & Chicken & I Will Be Back. Same Location Too.

Okay, we went here based on Yelp reviews. The reviews were right, this is inside a liquor store in the back corner. This is definitely a take out. Our order was taken right away and we roamed around while our food was prepared. Everything was delicious and worth the wait.

Food is AMAZING, customer service is AMAZING. Everything is just great. Highly recommend for anyone who wants good chicken or fried seafood.
