Captain Bakery

I love coming to this bakery that's a New addition to the neighborhood. The location of theirs bakery isn't the busiest so it's easy to miss. The pastries from this bakery is tasty, reasonable price, family owned so it's always nice. The service is nice and fast. The bakery also offer window seats for people who wants to quickly sit down and enjoy the freshly baked buns. They have a variety selection of buns, tarts and cake!!

Was less of a fan when the Captain was in the Square but was introduced by colleagues' pickup from this new location which changed my mind about quality and novel offerings. Popped in myself after dining in Bridgeport. easy parking in new mini plaza with location at corner at Ashland. still relatively low prices with four pastries at $7. surcharge for credit. (Don't make a stink - it was less than 25 cents!)Got a chocolate cream bun, durian puff, winter melon cake and a bolo bao with buttery inside. All solid contenders among other bakeries.His was Friday after Thanksgiving in the afternoon so selection may be even better in the morning.

Great neighborhood bakery! The pastries are huge and so cheap. My favorites are definitely the chicken and beef curry buns. The bread is soft and pillowy and the filling is so flavorful. And each bun is under $2! I've been here twice so far and the quality is there so far. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.

I popped into Captain Bakery to check out their baked goods and found novel selections I cannot find in other comparable Chinese bakeries. I like their matcha pineapple bread and Japanese cheesecake! Chinese pineapple bread isn't actually made of pineapple flavor, but the cracks of the egg batter on top cracks up like a pineapple. Definitely check this bakery out if you're in the area.

A friend recommended this bakery saying that they had really good Hong Kong styled tea (which is extra rich due to multiple tea leaves) and they did not disappoint! They also have various HK styled breads which were all decent.

Love this spot for a quick treat. The have a ton of beautiful pastries for dessert or lunch. The bakery is small and clean but still has plenty of options. Their savory buns are my favorite midday treat. Most of their stuff ranges from $1.50 - $5 depending on what you're getting.

The pastries are indeed tasty, but I was disappointed to see that they use margarine :(

Loved it. Very clean, welcoming store with employees who were happy to help and were kind to my 5 year old. We ordered 25 buns (just walking in) for a party. We ordered a range of buns. The curry chicken was very popular, but we liked them all. Obviously if you are particular, you should preorder. Most buns are $1.50; a couple were $1.75. There is a 3% fee for using a credit card, so bring cash. There is a range of Chinese baked goods, western baked goods, and Chinese buns. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful, friendly service! This business supports local community events and donates items. They are a great addition to our neighborhood. The chicken curry buns are flavorful and the beef buns are delicious. I also love their moon cakes and rice balls. Definitely a must try!

The buns are delicious especially the Curry choices. The egg tarts were tasty and I also get my milk bread there. The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. This is a small bakery with some stools , but I just get takeout. I am a regular customer.
