This restaurant has become a staple for my boyfriend and I. Never disappoints! Still waiting for the Maine lobster spaghettini to make its way back on the menu

Two of us have celiac and we are ridiculously sensitive. Our family visited Capo in South Boston tonight for our daughter's 22nd birthday. It was gluten free Tuesday which meant that everything on the menu was gluten free. So many options that it was hard to choose. Very large portions. From appetizers to entrees and desserts, everything was excellent. Our 3 non-celiac guests loved their meals as well. Highly recommend! (She made reservations a few weeks ahead of time. Parking was challenging, but there is a small lot across the street. The food, ambiance, service, entire experience was well worth it!)

I'm disappointed for my first experience at Capo. Our group of 12 had a 6:45 reservation and were seated promptly, but the experience left much to be desired. Some friends were seated early and upon arriving and checking in the hostess didn't advise us where our table was nor guided us. Service was slow (but we did have a large group) - no bread until an hour and a half in. We were told we had our table until 8:45, but our food didn't come until 8:30. They rushed to clear our plates within 10 minutes, taking my friend's pasta mid-bite. We indicated we were still working on our food but that was ignored. For a Saturday night it was packed and very noisy. As for the drinks and food, they were delicious! I would definitely try coming back here during the week.

Went for bottomless pasta on Wednesday. Realistically you can probably try 2 dishes, since the first dish must be full and afterwards they're half portions. Every time I've gone I've never ordered more than the 2nd rounds. Still pretty worth it since bottomless is a couple bucks more than the pasta, but to be honest I barely ate the second round. On top of that, I found the pastas pretty bland. The rigatoni was very basic (2/5) and not much depth of flavor. Cacio e Pepe was slightly better because of the meatballs. (3/5) sauce is extremely heavy though. Probably wouldn't come for bottomless again.

Came here for gluten free Tuesday dinner (in June) when my sister was with my helping me move. Sad to have already moved never knowing this place existed. We searched and found it because of the gluten free menu. My sister has celiac. Ok so the caccio e Pepe was divinity. Divinity. Like I'll never enjoy the Trader Joe's sauce ever again. Not sure how "authentic" it is or isn't but I want to make a cacio e Pepe like that. Holy moly. And that was gluten free. Imagine how much better it is with regular pasta ;) The pizzas were great. We got cheese and pepperoni. Crust was pretty good. Cheese was flavorful. We got a cheesecake to go. It was very rich and delicious. It survived our hour plus commute back to Brookline on a delayed train in extreme heat. The pizza served as good leftover meals for my poor celiac sister. Recommend a million times.

Capo was a fun, energetic Italian restaurant in South End! The ambience is very lively and if you're looking for a place to have some drinks and food with loud music, this is your spot. Our server Kate was great! She was so personable and gave great recommendations. We got the caprese and meatballs to start. The caprese was refreshing but I was a little letdown when the mozzarella was the tiny balls. The meatballs were great and they gave you a good portion. My bf got the vodka pasta with sausage and broccoli which was great. I got the shrimp scampi. The scampi was good but a little too garlicy for my liking. Then after the dinner our server gave us each a glass of lemonchello to clear out pallets which was really nice.Fun place with pretty good food!

Appetizers - 4/5Main course - 3/5Dessert - 5/5We accidentally landed on a gluten free night, so most of the menu items were... gluten free. Their toasted bread and Brussels sprouts were great. We tried a bunch of different pastas and they were ok, but nothing to write home about. Desserts (especially the cheesecake) were amazing. If you're a larger group - get the cannoli board and make your own cannolis. Our server Josh was great and took great care of our group. I'd say for the money, it was a good experience, but nothing to write home about (food wise).

Southy has some incredible restaurants, this time around in Boston I found out they are mostly under the same ownership group! Capo is on that list! This is an interesting bar because it starts out as a nice sit down Italian restaurant and if you stay long enough, you will find yourself in a fresh out of college bar with a DJ. Great place for a decent meal and a fun vibe after the fact. The also have some of the nicest restrooms I've seen for a bar, major blessing if you venture out late nights.

We sat at the bar with Diego and had the best time. Yet, we have been to many southie spots but it was never great. Diego made our experience a 10/10, with drinks made to perfection, food, and hospitality. This is a place where the employees clearly care about their customers. 15/10 recommendations!!!!!

Diego was the best bartender! We came from a bar where they barely noticed us and Diego was a complete turnaround. Happy excited and was in such a good mood. Made the best martinis, overall he enhanced the experience! We will be recommending and returning! Ask for Diego!
