Applebees style food but higher prices. Ambience is like a cafeteria. Wouldn't recommend if you are staying at the Welk and want a nice dinner.

The smell. This place smells like a sewer. The inside is nice if you walk to the right. If you walk left it looks like a high school cafeteria. Speaking of which, that's what the food reminds me of. Drinks were watered down. The overall vibe is awful. If we didn't have to spend money on a resort credit, we would have walked out. Go elsewhere.

You know it's a resort/country club restaurant during an off season. I always feel these are always a hit or miss during those times. So let's move on.Upon walking in we were greeted immediately. The menu had some pretty decent options.I opted for the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. The grilled cheese bread was grilled perfectly. But using Kraft singles and not real cheddar or fontina is not acceptable at a place like this. It isn't on the kids menu. This was something on the normal menu. Severely lacking and a not good at all.The tomato bisque was WAY too rich in flavor. Could hardly even taste tomato. Steak with chimichurri was well displayed. Taste was a ok.I mean if you don't want to leave the property this is a good spot for something quick. It isn't an amazing restaurant ( at least off season it isn't )The staff was definitely very nice though and very attentive. I just feel the food is lacking severely.Place is clean. Decor is ok.

We found ourselves at the Lawrence Welk Theatre for a show that we won tickets to see. Lived in the area for 23 years and this was our first time at any event there and any restaurant on the Welk properties. Let's talk about the restaurant. We went inside without a reservation and learned that we could order food at the bar, so we sat there. Have to say that the bartender, I believe her name was Val, was very attentive and offered great service. Rewind a bit, if we had other options of places to eat on property we would have walked out and found a different restaurant. The smell inside was pretty awful, that dreaded dead rodent smell was overwhelming. BUT we needed to eat before our show. Prices were pretty stupid high, but I guess they assume that you are vacationers and willing to pay a premium to eat on the property. Our two cheeseburgers, two beers and two skinny margarita bill was over $115. Which would not be bad, had this been a top shelf kind of restaurant. It was not. Felt very much like a place that gets rented out in a senior center, or a community center. Ceilings were pretty ugly, like you would expect in a planned community recreational center. And again that smell was A LOT. Food was just okay. Beer was cold, Margarita was weak... Let's just say that Val was the high point, and sadly not enough for us to return. Would be great to have someplace this near to us, that offered an ambiance that matched the menu prices. AND no foul odors.

Canyon Grille is extremely average. The food is average (literally not bad and not good), the ambience is a little subpar, think cafeteria. But what brings them back up to a 3 is the good service. My server was good and my bartender was amazing. Would I ever return if I wasn't staying on the Hyatt property? Never. But will I be back today and tomorrow? Yes. But I've no choice. There's literally nothing within walking distance and I don't have a car...

Super slow service. Over 10 minutes just to get our initial order of two glasses of wine. And we asked for water. Never arrived. Same with napkins. Really.

I can't believe I let my wife talk me into getting an order for her here. I picked up a burger else where since we've had nothing but bad experiences here for the longest time now. When we 1st moved into the area and frequented them, we liked their food and their buffets a lot. But it's been a bad slide down for years sadly. She's been wanting to try the mushroom grilled cheese sandwich here ever since the Hyatt bought the Welk, so while I was getting my food, she called in her order here.Get there and right as they were running my card, all their cash registers went down so I had to pay cash, which I didn't have and walked out vowing never to come back here again. My wife wanted her food so she ran back in there with cash, but was sorry she did. For $17 there was 1 thin slice of cheese in 2" of bread (each slice being 1"). She liked the mushrooms, but not the sandwich. Fries just ok.Not going back unless I start to see some better Yelps that it's changed. Hope Hyatt gets this place back on point. I made a comment to one of the staff (who wasn't a staff of the restaurant) that this place could be rocking with the locals, not a lot of close options near this hotel and so many hotel guests and even she said, "If we could just get our restaurant better!" Couldn't agree more![NOTE: Do go to their Lawrence Welk Theater plays & listen to their live music outside as both are fun.]

My daughter's middle school cafeteria has better food than this place. Our bill was $183 for two grilled cheese & tomato soups and two salmon dinners & a bottle of Bread & Butter Pinot Noir. The salmon dinners had Frank's Red Hot Sweet Chili lime sauce and a side of quinoa and arugula. You can get the same meal at Whole Foods deli section for $12.99. The restaurant looks like a senior center nursing facility dinning hall. The waiter was extremely gracious and way over qualified to be working the night shift at Lawerence Welk's time capsule restaurant. IMO one star is being too generous.

We stayed for the week at our timeshare and after getting in late, had nowhere to go but The Canyon Grill. After reading reviews, we decided not to dine in and got the food to go. It's true, the restaurant smells like sewage, and the small bar and lobby smelled the worst. I was hoping that this restaurant would have been updated and remodeled after all these years. But not by a longshot. We liked the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon and house salad. Portions were acceptable. We ordered a "baguette" for $4. For that price, we expected a roll but we got 4 slices of toasted bread. $1 per 1 tiny piece of bread. I had to write about it because this is the epitome of price gouging.

My Ceasar salad was good, the chicken could have been better. The chicken in the chicken tenders my son said was the best he has ever had, and the fries were delicious. The lavender lemon drop was good
