I did not expect the cross between Bass Pro Shops and Shoney's to be one of the best experiences on Music Valley Drive I've ever had. A little backstory, I live five minutes from Opryland so as a youth I worked almost every establishment up Music Valley Drive. Caney Fork River Valley Grille is fairly new and right on the corner of Music Valley Drive and McGavock, you cannot miss it.We went on a weekday pre-dinner rush so they were not very busy. I like that because it means I can get plenty of pics without worrying about spooking other patrons. Thank goodness because there is a lot to see and enjoy here. There are stuffed animals all over the place, I guarantee if you visited multiple times you would see new ones each time.Aside from the cool interior, the food and service is also amazing. Everything came out fast and correct while tasting perfect. We were not expecting the complimentary corn fritters but they were very much welcome and delicious.By far the best thing we had was the chopped steak with gravy, honestly the best chopped steak I have ever had. To the point that I have wanted to go back every since just for that. It was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. We also had the hamburger and while it was also very good, the chopped steak was the star of the show.

This location has greatly deteriorated in the last three years. The service and ambiance are excellent. The staff were very responsive and provided excellent service. The food is horrible, we had a table of six and not one person's food was good. Steaks were served cold, and extremely overcooked. Salmon was horrible it was rubbish and overcooked as well. Chicken was dry and uneatable. The quality of the meats served are subpar and need to be improved. I would also recommend the owners review their cooking methods and staff.I also noticed the exterior grounds have been let go the fencing upon entry is extremely deteriorating. We used to look forward to eating at this restaurant when we visited Nashville, we have crossed this off of our must do list for our next visit.

Unexpected little gem of a place. I have to admit I judged a book by its cover and this time I was supremely wrong. When we arrived to stay at a near by place for a few days I saw this place and while it was crowded I overlooked it. I wrongly assumed it was busy because of its proximity to hotels and attractions, not because of their food or service. I was wrong on both accounts. Caney Fork is busy because they are good. We came here on our last night of our honeymoon to get some food after being out all day. The day before we had gone to their attached ice cream place and found that they were both family owned and since the restaurant offered wild game meat my husband was super interested in trying it. We came here before 5 on a Sunday so it wasn't packed with people and were greeted and seated super fast. Our server Red was awesome. He was personable and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions. We got the wild game platter and also the surf and turf. The wild game platter had fried gator, Cajun frog legs, elk patties and, wild game sausage along with their outfitter stew. The gator wasn't tough it was fried perfectly and had great flavor. The frog legs were tender and flavorful. The patties were a little dry but I imagine that in a burger they would be amazing and paired with the bbq sauce that came with them took any dryness away. The sausage was bursting with flavor and the stew reminded me of an Irish beef stew or a nice hearty winter stew. The surf and turf had an 8oz sirloin that was perfectly cooked and juicy. The shrimp was bbq grilled and bursting with flavor. The sides were had were the campfire potatoes that had a great crunch and the onions only complimented the flavor. And the deep fried cheese curds were not overly greasy and had the perfect melted consistency. It was a fun dining experience. The restaurant is done amazingly with tons of fun things to see and to discover. The waterfall lake with fish were fun to be seated by and provided their own entertainment. Like I said before Red our server was awesome. Fun and funny and made it more of an experience. He wanted us to enjoy everything which is what exactly happened. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be back for the food and also the service. Check this place out for something fun for the family or a date or just for good food.

Came here on a Friday night not too busy, we wants to stay out of downtown nashvillle with the crowds since we had 10 people decided to try something close to the place we were staying. This place was huge but not packed had live music playing for us that went from room to room. You can tell the locals love to come here so happy we found it. The staff was so friendly and super helpful and honest told us exactly what not to get and what to get lol. Everything we ate was good and had no issues they even gave us some donut holes for free they were sooooo good. Glad we tried this place it was decently priced as well.

Place was super close to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and BBQs are a must when in Nashville so i did. This place was true to their logo --- food is good and it is!I left it to the bartender/server to give me their best sellers. I had the rib/fried catfish combo with fried okra and mashed potatoes .... everything was soooo good!!!! my favorite is the rib, it is fall-off-the bone tenderness and the flavor is on point. the fried catfish is flavorful too as well as the sides.lots if beer choices but i was tired from the red eye so i just had sparkling water with my meal. place is clean, love the decors! everybody is attentive.

Exceptional service and definitely somewhere to go if you plan to visit the Opry area, a little ways from downtown Nashville. I give this place a lot of points for feeling more local and less commercial; and better fitting the expectation of what I, as an out-of-towner, had sought to see and experience Nashville.A diverse restaurant with many different kinds of meat, preparation, and sauces for those who love barbecue and game meats. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant, not just the support to amazing staff and owners but also diverge from the oversaturated commercial insanity and forceful postmodernism that is downtown Nashville.Admittedly not all of the food is great but it is good enough; and quite filling.
