I visited here for my second time on Sunday 8/4/24. Both times I've visited, the staff members at the front were super friendly and helpful. They told us how long our order would take, and asked us what area we would be sitting in. They also said that if our order was ready early, they would bring it over to us. Because we already got an entree at another store, we only got the beignets this time. They're made fresh to order and they always come with a side of chocolate caramel sauce. I love them because they're not overpoweringly sweet, and they don't give me a stomach ache like donuts do. They're topped with powdered sugar but the dough itself is not too sweet. So, you can choose how sweet you want them by pouring as much of the chocolate caramel sauce as you'd like.

Let's start off with $70.00 for these 2 plates ! Yes $70.00 ! The Mac & cheese is okay but the cheese onTop was CRUNCHY , on BOTH plates ? the yams tasted like water & cinnamon & the catfish was SATURATED in grease it did not taste like catfish one bit, unsure what fish that was / was trying to be but it was GROSS ! The red beans and rice were flavorless . I didn't door dash it I picked it myself it was a piping hot plate ! NEVER , AGAIN! 2 stars because the customer service was good.

This was one of my favorite places in Liberty Station. (See prior review) But today we got the mysterious up-charge on my catfish po boy. Although it is not posted anywhere... not on the menu or posted on the counter or wall, the catfish has a surprise $8.00 up-charge for the sandwiches and added a $7.50 tip for themselves. Mind you under normal circumstances I would have tipped anyway even if it is counter service. Hmmm, the least expensive farm raised fish has an up-charge? Not cool...Total came to a blistering $66.00 for two sandwiches. The catfish po boy is smaller now, has less fish on it and the four little catfish "nuggets" (as opposed to the former filets) tasted frozen, were over cooked and greasy. I was burping them up all night. Whew... I guess we got the unposted tourist grift price today. The extra charges netted them a few extra bucks today but lost them a good customer and earned them this review. Buyer beware. Can no longer recommend.

Scammy.... Watch out for random surcharge. Was about to order a shrimp poboy, says $22 on the menu, but when I was about to check out it was $26 (pre tax). Random $4 surcharge came out of no where. I pointed out the difference to the chaser, she just said they "haven't update the menu price yet ". Don't recommend this place.

Extremely overpriced, poor tasting food, and portion sizes were awful. Service was quite slow.

Cane Patch Kitchen is one of the few original vendors in Liberty Market I had yet to try so I went for it. We stopped by here on a weekend for some lunch and I ended up getting the Seafood Gumbo. Customer service was good. Friendly and patient and got my order right. She said it would take 15 minutes and it only took about 10 or so. The gumbo was ok. I started ordering the $15 cup until I saw the size. I instantly asked for the large, $24. It is a little pricey, but everything is nowadays. It wouldn't be a big deal except I felt like I paid $24 for a nice bowl of soup and rice. Minimal shrimp, maybe 4, 3 sausage slices and some chicken. The rest of the bowl was a nicely flavored broth with veggies and rice. It was a good flavor and cooked well but I would have liked to have a little more meat for the price. One bummer with my experience was a random cup of water. I forgot my water bottle in the Jeep and just wanted a sip of something since I figured it was going to be spicey. Now, I am not cheap but.... A cup of water $1. It may not seem like a big deal but I just paid $24 for a small bowl or gumbo you would think they could throw in a cup of tap water. Anyways, it was an ok lunch but I will try another vendor on my next visit. Lots of good options there.

I ordered a grilled shrimp po' boy with steak fries. Add an Arnold Palmer and a $3.00 tip and the bill comes to $32.16. Not cheap at all for a sandwich, fries, and a drink.First: a grilled shrimp po' boy with 6 or 7 small shrimp for $19.00 is a LOT. A $5.00 Arnold Palmer, is a LOT.I waited patiently over 20 minutes to get my food. Finally food started coming out and was set on the counter for 3 of us to watch sit there, as nobody would hand it to us...Finally the girl taking and prepping orders came to the front and handed out 4 bags that were just waiting..I make my way to another area to find a seat wit the rest of my party waiting for me while their food got cold.I open my container and I have the wrong food. The container had french toast and bacon inside...I take the food back to the counter and now I'm not happy, but explain to the girl that this isn't my order. She looks inside the bag, then starts typing for a bit in the computer and I tell her if they have to make another, and it will take another 20 minutes, I just want my money back. I'm now less happy.IN the meantime, another customer comes up and practically throws her bag on the counter and says "we don't even want it anymore".The girl behind the counter (Lynee) hands me a receipt, grabs her phone and LEAVES. Just leaves. The cook looks amazed, comes up front and asks what happened. I told her she just left. The receipt she handed me was a refund for someone else. Not even my order, nor my credit card,The cook was great about it, apologized, and had another shrimp po boy on deck, and handed it to me in 3 minutes. The food was OK, the po boy could have been much more loaded for $19.00, but I'd rather try something else next time, and because of the service, I'll happily skip anyplace she works, forever.

Cane Patch is one of the many food options available inside Liberty Public Market. While walking around looking at dinner options, I settled on a shrimp po boy and swamp fries from cane patch. Getting both was a ton of food but both sounded so good and they were delicious! The swamp fries had so much flavor and were spicy with hot sauce drizzled on top. The po boy had lots of shrimp and great flavors as well! You could easily share both of these dishes with someone else for a good sized meal. I would order both again! It took about 15 minutes for my food to be ready so place your order then look around for a spot to eat. The public market can get really busy and can be very noisy but there are lots of seating options inside or outside.

Cane Patch Kitchen is an excellent Creole soul food stall in Liberty Public Market. It's one of the few original restaurants at the Public Market, and if the constant lines are anything to go by, you know the food is excellent! Located in the heart of the Market, it can be loud and crowded, but the staff is super helpful and takes the time to answer any questions. There is plenty of seating inside and outside the Market, so you can easily find a place to sit down and enjoy your food. I didn't have one of the entrees, but I did enjoy the red velvet cake. Oh. My. Goodness! It was delicious, and the portion size was HUGE! I definitely recommend trying out Cane Patch Kitchen while at Liberty Public Market! You won't be disappointed!

Got their Oyster Po Boy. Honestly, for almost $20 I expected more than half a sandwich. The oysters were nicely fried but thats about it. Bun was stale and the veggies could've used some salt/seasoning. It did take over 20min to get my order when we were told 5-10min so that was off putting.
