Consistently great service and great food!Campfire is an experience which is exactly what you look for in a good restaurant. A modern take on a camp site with the decor and the concept of everything being cooked over the "campfire" throughout the menu. Menu items are always so fresh, creative, and so exciting. Truly a one in a kind food experience. Staff is just as good as the food, the first time we visited we came to celebrate our anniversary with our newborn and were given a hand written congratulations card signed by all staff. Everyone was so attentive to our needs all night. We returned on our last visit with our now toddler and everyone interacted with our son and was just as attentive as the first time.Whether you're celebrating an occasion or out for just a date night, you can expect the same attention to detail in both your service and food!

TLDR; Pains me to do this, but 3 stars. Pasted (my own) comment from a different food related forum. It's just not what it was. Every review I do I take into account the price:A super cheap banger smashburger is going to be a 5. A SUPER pricey $$$$ dinner that wasn't all that is going to be a 3. That's campfire now. It's mid for the price. Small plates aren't it._________________________Full review:Their prices are not worth it. I've been several times in the last 4-5 years and this is what I have to say:Campfire has always had "loud" flavors and this is far more subjective, but to me they've gotten a lot more intense. It's as if every dish has to be REALLY pronounced. Even their broccoli seems extremely heavily dressed now.Less subjective: go on yelp and compare their menu from 2019/2018 to today. The first thing you'll notice is the prices. Campfire has never been cheap, and unless you're loaded it's always been "a treat." So fine, whatever. However, what I want to point out is something more subtle and clever. If you look at their older menus, each section is divided without headers: That implies to a dinner that different courses are entirely optional. Previously they were in different adjacent columns such as "vegetables" and "from the hearth." Compare this to today's menu: courses. Very clearly the expectation is it's more of a tasting menu as opposed to small plates + mains. This jacks the price up A LOT. I don't think they believe they can go the Juene & Julie route of set price / person, 4 courses. It just APPEARS to pricey for such a down to earth concept. That said, if you add up 4 courses for 2 people minimum you're paying ~$65/ea. That's actually... not horrible BUT that's if you picked the cheapest options, and come on, you're dining out! Get what you want.If you go (and let's stick with the theme here) the higher route, it's closer to $100 / person. And that's if you opt not to go for their pricier beef option. If you do, pack an extra $50 with you. That's without drinks too.All this to say, for roughly the same price or maybe a bit more, you could go to J&J next door. Which I really like and is owned by the same people (I believe).I guess more over, consider Campfire's down to earth concept; you're getting together to share a meal, as a family or group, camping together. To me this is in contrast with a 4 course tasting menu and being charged $32 for a few slices of brisket.I'm not a hater of CF. If a friend wanted to go, I would spare them this speech and take them. For me? I'd just hit up their bar. I just miss the way it used to be: more humble, true to its concept.

My new favorite restaurant!!! The food and drinks are great. And this is a dream come true for a foodie with a 5 year old. The food is amazing. The vibe is lively, yet family friendly. The service is warm yet casual. My favorite restaurant experience in at least a year!Onto the dishes -- Yelp did not lead me wrong. * Aloe Black (not on menu, but always served) is like a twist on a margarita * oysters were indeed super yum: creamy with the dash being just an amazing, fresh complement * the shrimp was tasty. I loved grilled shrimp -- the smell reminds me of childhood* the broccoli is flash fried and just amazing with the crunchy peanuts and the cream* They have a new pork chop: juicy inside, slightly crispy on the outside with a jous that reminds me of hoisin and hubs of red wine sauce in a finger licking umami way. It's replaced the brisket on the menu for now* the potato gratin was cheesy, hammy goodness The smore was the perfect finishing touch.

We had another amazing 5 star dinner here tonight and Sonya was our waitress, she is so sweet and very attentive to my special needs a.k.a. gluten and cheese intolerant. I absolute adore the bluefin tuna crudo and the broccoli with tahini underneath. Everything is super fresh and delicious!! I highly recommend

We loved our experience at Campfire. This place came highly recommended to us while we were staying in Carlsbad so we booked a late Saturday night reservation and made our way to the restaurant. While we waited for our table to become available we grabbed a couple drinks at the bar. Both my partner and I are not huge cocktail people but both of what we ordered was fantastic. I got the gin cocktail and he got a creamy tequila cocktail, both fab.Once seated our server gave us a rundown of the menu and answered any questions I had. We ordered all at once but they're really good at spacing out the dishes. We started with the asparagus + burrata, grilled oysters (4), prawns, quail(2), farmers market veggies and then octopus and brisket as our mains. The first thing that came out was the asparagus and burrata. We really liked this dish but I felt like it should have been hotter..? The burrata was amazing though and the asparagus was perfect. The peaches in this dish were a nice touch of summer. Then we got the oysters & prawns. The oysters were a bit larger than I'm used to but they were from Washington (and I love Washington oysters) and they were so so good. Both my partner and I agreed we loved these. The oxtail broth with the oyster was delicious. The sauce the prawns were served in were so good... another fave. The quail didn't have a lot going on for it but we really liked this dish as well although I'm not sure I'd order this one again. Just felt a little boring overall. The farmers market veggies were served different than we expected but we wanted more veggies so I'm glad we ordered this as well. For the mains we got the brisket as well as the octopus. The brisket was divine. So tender, melt in your mouth & decadent. I loved the pickled green tomatoes and polenta it was served with. The octopus was great although I'm not sure I loved the kumquats served with this dish.. felt a bit random. I love the way they did the octopus itself but the other flavors around were just fine. Overall, the food was fun and the service was great. I will say the portions across all three categories were sort of small.. we each got two drinks and with tip the price of dinner was a little over $300. The fact we both got home and were a little hungry still (although we did take home some leftovers of our mains) is not really ideal when you're spending that much on dinner. Great experience nonetheless though. It was an experience and a meal well look back on fondly. I recommend Campfire if you're in the area.

Campfire in Carlsbad is an absolute gem with a super cozy atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing and unwinding with friends. While the broccoli seems to be a fan favorite, I was most impressed with the oysters--the oxtail dashi and pickled onion provided such incredible balance that I could have easily eaten a whole dozen myself! We opted for the brisket as our entrée. You could definitely appreciate the coffee rub and the effort it took to achieve quality smoked meat, though it was a bit on the dry side. Despite this, the overall dining experience was wonderful. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu. Highly recommended!

Incredible restaurant. Thankful to have this in North County. Pro-tip, call ahead to make reservations. We dined here for our seventh wedding anniversary. We heard many great things but could never get in at a reasonable time. Duh! They are so delicious, everyone wants to go here!Service. Food. Pricing made sense for the quality of food. Kudos to the chef(s) behind the menu. We are huge foodies. We have over over 50 spices at home. And we were struggling to place flavor profiles. For the price, what we got, I consider that a great deal. Top tier food. The kind of food that makes you say "Wow." Makes you wanna' go home and try harder - for those that like cooking.Every bite was incredible. I cannot believe how flavor the olives were. Olives! I was spazzing out over olives, yes. Smokey, citrusy, oh, my, goodness. The crudo oil and seasonings. I admit. I was dipping my finger into it and tasting trying to place, my, finger on it. ;)Great restaurant. Great service. Great food. Highly recommend. We will be returning. Expect a wait without reservations. See you there next time!

Keep in mind: service was exceptional, the hosts and servers were so welcoming and friendly. We had the best time & they surprised me with a card & dessert for my birthday!

@campfirerestaurant CampfireEatsBroccoli 5/5 - MUST ORDERCrudoOysterTiger PrawnBrisket - 5/5 Ricotta CavetelliCheesecakeDrinksEl Machete ColadaThis is the best restaurant I've been to in a VERY long time. We got a recommendation from a trusted friend and we were absolutely blown away.Everything was perfect! We showed up at slightly before 5 and grabbed a spot at the bar with no wait at all. The staff was incredibly friendly and the energy was there passionate and exciting! The food...OMGThis broccoli is so good it could turn me vegetarian. I'm still thinking about it....it is truly phenomenal!Everything here WQS GREAT BUT YOU MUST order the broccoli. Seriously - it is probably the best vegetable I've ever eaten. The Brisket was incredible! The combination of the cheesy polenta, Smokey brisket, and green tomatoes is true harmony in your mouth! Everything on the plate is so essential and wonderful together!Same with the Cavetelli! The noodles were the perfect amount of chewiness and the mushrooms are absurdly good alone, but when paired with the sundried tomatoes Absolute taste bud explosions!!!I'm already eagerly anticipating my next trip here! While everything stood out as exceptional the favorites of the night were the Broccoli, Brisket, Cavatelli, and the OystersOur waitress Mads was absolutely amazing!!

This place has no shortage of incredible reviews, but I must say it's my favorite restaurant in town. Campfire's entire staff both in the kitchen and on the floor is amazing. Everyone is kind and attentive. Before eating here, people should be aware that it is a paced out meal and some items can take a bit of time. Our experiences have been about 2 ish hours, but each minute is enjoyable. Sonya has been our server both times and she's excellent! Would go here once a week if I could... the atmosphere is also so cute and fun! The lighting is warm and the people are too. They are also great with allergies and dietary restrictions! Highly recommend!
