We love this place! Food tastes authentic and is so good!! The service is fast and the restaurant is clean. Each time I eat here, there seems to be a steady stream of customers either dining in or picking up to go orders.

It's amazing to me how hard it is to find good ol authentic Mexican food in the Northwest Phoenix area. Granted, having grown up in East Los Angeles where there's a pretty good Mexican restaurant just about anywhere you go, I figured I would shortly find a couple of go-to spots, but for other than chain-style fast food and fancier, pricey bar/restaurant food, I regularly drive east to the city to get reasonably priced authentic food. But a few months ago I drove by this little nondescript place in a strip mall near a grocery store and decided to stop by. So glad I did. Ambiance is basic in n out, clean and bright, with several tables if you choose to eat in. I learned from the newspaper and mag clips on the wall that Caminero has been there close to a couple of decades, serving up high quality enchiladas, chile rellenos, crispy tacos, tortas, burritos and combo plates with rice and beans, all I need to satisfy my regular hankering for the food I grew up with. I've tried all the above over the last couple of months, all really good. I do wish that they sold beer! Soft drinks only, so it's become my go-to takeout place, cuz this food tastes great with a nice cold Pacifico out of my fridge!

The first thing you should know is that there are no public restrooms here. I decided to order carne asada nachos and a breakfast burrito with Mexican style eggs. The portions are portentous and delicious. I almost couldn't finish the nachos. The burrito I ate the next day and was disappointed to find onions in it even though they knew that I didn't want onions in my food. Overall, great bang for your buck. I also didn't like their house salsas as I felt they didn't taste so great.

THE best fast casual mexican food spot in the valley and I'm a native to Arizona. Anything on their menu is amazing, but the Carne Adasa plate stands out. The meat quality out does any competition. This place shouldn't receive anything less than 5 stars.

I have recommended this place in the past and think the food is awesome and the salsas really exceptional. That being said I can't recall ever being so upset with a restaurant before. I always over tip (too many years in restaurant and bar industries) although last couple times in here I thought I had been overcharged a bit. They have an old school register where they type in $2.99, $2.99 etc and you get a credit card receipt but nothing itemized. The owner charges me $22.66 for rice and salsa to go. I tip $3 for to go because it already feels like a ripoff. Waiting for food and staring at the large catering menu price board: 16oz rice $4.99, 8oz hot sauce $2.50, 8oz salsa $2.99. That's $10.50 total. Asked him for four extra little salsa cups to go as well and he did charge $1 for that although I had just watched him give the guy before me eight of them for nothing. This hurts because I can't tell you how many times I have been here and how much I support them. I ask him about my bill and we look at the receipt tape and he has an extra charge of $7.99 that he literally typed in on there, and he gives me back the cash but keeps the tip and then gives me a couple of extra hot sauces but no milds after charging me for it. Let me just say to watch your bill carefully here. Many times it has seemed a bit off but today was literally double what it should have been and with a straight face and no apology. Sucks but thought you should know

The food was excellent. The Chili Relleno (egg pan fried) was perfect. The green sauce was nice, not pork green chili. The enchilada sauce was fantastic, sweeter with a kick. Fish tacos were tasty and the guacamole was amazing. Seasoning was good, grilled fish was tender. Dining room is informal and small, but even though there was a steady stream and a birthday party it didn't feel crowded or cluttered. Service was great and friendly.

Younger guy, Diamondbacks cap has the worst customer service. He must be having a bad day. Truly unprofessional. I asked for a refund after his attitude. Before I paid I asked if I'd get an itemized receipt to expense my meal, this genius says yes. Then hands me a generic slip that says taxed item... i said I can't use this. My company is strict. I ask to let me take a pic of the order slip please and he gives me an attitude and hands me someone else's. I said that's not my order. At this point I was fed up. Told him to give me my refund or I could dispute with AMEX. Little guy says if he doesn't give me a refund I won't get my money back. . Little boy, I use AMEX for a reason. Walked over to subway where I was greeted with a smile. Sad day when mom n pop shops treat you like shit but subway does not.
