Came again to please my wife on an early Saturday night. Plenty of dining room space but once again we were set in a corner window in the bar area with kids running around like crazy with only one side and a view. Plenty of other tables but didn't want to to move. So we moved the table over so she could get a view and I could stare at the ferry dock. She enjoyed her expensive drink and the scallops dish. I had a fish and chips again. Really average and my stomach was not right later. She helped me finish the fries after three attempts from staff to remove them. I'd just as soon have Ivar's fish bar Cajun fish and chips but this was close to the house. It ended up in some drama over my view of a standard tip vs what she thought was deserving. I'm absolutely done with this place as it always leaves me wishing I hadn't bothered with their goofy staff, average at best but not cheap food, and the sheer crazy atmosphere here around tourists and the odd locals that let their kids race around restaurants. Please note!!!Just about every time we have gone here, there is some other ferry tourists, which we can be too, that are stacked up at the very under organized and run host desk trying to figure out if they can dine and still catch their boat! A young family this time that finally realized it wasn't realistic given their boat was about to land and unload!! This is not a quick while we are here waiting for a ferry kind of place. Even this staff is usually pretty upfront with that. Plan ahead if you want to go to Callen's and use the ferry!

We've been here a couple times before as we live on the island. It's been good, no complaints. We went Friday, 4/12/24. Wow. I wouldn't even classify this as food. I don't know if you could even intentionally make something this bad? Mine was completely inedible. Everything on the plate was cold, except the chicken? I mean, I ordered chicken, but I have no idea what this was? It was if I was chewing a salt encrusted eraser. I was really concerned about getting sick after trying it. My husband's was *less* terrible, but he was pretty hungry. Either way, it was a definite final experience situation. The waiter was great. It was clearly not her fault, and we felt terrible for her. She deserved and received a nice tip. Most of our "food" was comped. We're guessing this is one of those places that has changed ownership/management or gone with the tourist business model, assuming they can serve clearance mystery meat because people are just passing through and won't be back regardless.

Callen's is right across from the Coupeville ferry, so very convenient. And don't let the humble building fool you...this place has great food, and offers a lot of nice touches, like the record player serving up whole albums, the Boylans soda, the pretty napkins, and the hummus that accompanies the bread. And OH, that bread. Perfection, especially when slathered with the salted butter. Everything else was tasty too. And count yourself lucky if you get the delightful Amy, Whidbey's very own Disney princess, as your server. Also, Callen's seems to be in the middle of a nature reserve, with some excellent bird-spotting opportunities.

The location is amazing, with incredible views of the water and lots of parking. Minutes from the Pt Townsend Ferry and Ft Casey. It was busy on Father's Day as expected and the food was very good. Ordered the Father's Day brunch option and it was enough to share with my daughter. The Mimosa was very good too! The server was all business at our table, not necessarily warm so I didn't know if they were having a bad day but we let that go.

We love this place and frequent here often. We love the small town feel and the views. One of our favorites for sure. Only things I wish it was open until 9 on weekdays and more gluten free items- since that's what we come for! Love that there is a dedicated gluten free fryer and that there are some amazing items that are gluten free. We love the food here!

Nice date night spot or nicer restaurant option on the island. My family has been back multiple times and we LOVE Amy- she is just the cutest thing. Delicious drink options and large selection of seafood and other meals. The lemon vinaigrette is divine! Quick service and friendly staff. Everyone is in a good spirit which is a reflection of the lovely servers and chefs! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Will need to come back for breakfast, menu looks amazing

Monday in the island and it's a challenge to find many lunch spots open. Bloody Mary's were great..spice was on point and the pickled veggies were tasty and crunchy. Pulled pork sandwich was the perfect size and the bbq sauce was tangy and slightly sweet. I would have loved a side of pickles but that's me. The fries (gluten-free) were shoestring but still thick enough to taste the crispy salted to my taste potato's. Staff was great considering we opted to sit outside and the weather was turning.

It's the end of November and I am sitting at a window overlooking the ferry terminal with the sun glistening on the water and at the same time coming in the window and warming us. The menu has everything we would want. The Wagyu Burger was tasty and fresh with a hot buttered brioche bun. Our waitress, Stephanie, was unflappable and even when all the tables were taken. Super friendly and kind. I definitely want to get in her section next time. Biggest treat? The apple crisp is out of this world. Hot apples with crunch topping, cold vanilla ice cream with whipped cream AND caramel sauce! Good gracious. I will be coming back just for dessert!

This place SERIOUSLY ROCKS!!!Had a dinner reservation for 25 people that I booked 3 weeks ahead. One of the few places on Whidbey Island to accommodate that many on busy memorial weekend, and a nice view of the Puget Sound. The staff did FANTASTIC! Everyone was so nice and friendly. Food came out in waves. Scratch restaurant. SOOOO good, so fresh, everything made so yummy. Prices are surprising for the quality of food. I ordered the salmon BLT and everything from the bun to fish tasted *chefs kiss* amazing. Everyone came in hungry and left full. Will definitely come back if I'm on Whidbey Island. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
