Lovely, flavorful, crispy and juicy fried chicken. They had a soft opening even though they'd been open for a while so I assume that's soft launching new management, and boy I think it worked, because I went at a reeeeeaaalllly busy time, and my two orders still came out FAST within 10 minutes. The entire restaurant was full and there was a line for the self-order pad, but the staff in the back were working really hard to fulfill orders.Got a spicy chicken sandwich -- the chicken is a giant puck, but breaded nicely, still juicy inside, cooked perfectly and had globs of mayo with a single lettuce leaf. The taste is reminiscent of a Mcchicken but possibly on the sweeter side with an earthy taste of airy crunchiness that's really satisfying to eat. Got a box of popcorn chicken to snack on and they are big too! Also juicy, in the original flavor, very crunchy and delicious.Price-wise, it's very affordable. 4.99 for a bigggg chicken sandwich is super worth it!There are lots of tables and chairs inside for easy dining, and make sure you grab a bunch of napkins before you dig in because you will need them. Trusss meee!

Can't really rate this place as this notice kept me from entering. Parking isn't convenient as it is in the University district.

Ate some CAC before my tennis match and it ended up being a disaster. I was extremely gassy and I couldn't make any balls in. I am 5/5 for eating at CAC and having a raging stomachache after. After the first 3 times I kept telling people that it was worth it because the chicken tasted so good but now I think it is taking its toll. I now treat Call a Chicken kind of like alcohol. You have it to have a good time in the moment but you know that afterwards will be a time of pain and reflection. From now on, I will only be eating at CAC when I have no other plans for the rest of the day or if I want to feel something and I recommend you to do the same.

The reviews for this place are pretty negative so I thought I should chime in. After reading other reviews, they absolutely did not reflect my experience. I'm not going to say this place was really memorable and knocked my socks off, but it was tasty enough, well priced, quick, and convenient. Nothing that'll blow your mind but I actually found the hamburger pretty tasty. Chicken options and fries were all decent. I probably will be back when I'm in a hurry and in the neighborhood

I've only had call a chicken through food events in the city - once last year in ID when they had a promo for a whole fried chicken at $5 and once this past weekend at the UW street fair when they had free ice cream with a purchase of popcorn chicken. The ice cream was just a packaged container and was pretty trash but the popcorn chicken was great. The only thing was - it was supposed to be spicy and it was so completely not that we asked if they messed up our order. Nope, the spice is just completely unnoticeable.

3.5/5 rounded up. Call A Chicken is basically comparable to a fast food spot. It reminded me of Dandan Hamburger from Taiwan. Soft opening so I am cutting them some slack. Food is average (3/5) but prices are fair and ambiance is solid. I'll hopefully revisit in the future once everything is more solidified for a better, accurate rating. For now, I thought the food was whatever but it's a solid study spot with reasons I'll detail below.Starting with the pros, the chicken was pretty juicy and tender, not dry. It's not exceptional or anything but it's just solid chicken. They also introduce bottomless house beverages on the Ave which is a great concept.Cups are a bit on the smaller side for their bottomless drinks. They have bottomless fountain drinks which is standard and not surprising, so nothing to note there. However, having bottomless house beverages is very interesting. You can refill milk tea, taro milk tea, or a seasonal beverage. Because of this, it's a pretty great spot for studying or doing work because you can get refill "higher quality" drinks that isn't simply soda. Maybe not particularly better, but it's a change of scenery in the sense that you don't often get refills on non-soft drinks, especially around the Ave.They ran out of milk tea so I can't comment on that, though I really wish I had the chance to try their boba and milk tea.Taro Milk Tea - it's served warm and honestly pretty good. Nutty flavor is present and it's not overly sweet (it is a bit sweet, but not 100% level at a boba spot). Great drink for Seasonal Beverage - tasted like a sweetened green tea with some spices though I'm not certain what it was exactly. Basically some type of tea though, so another calming drink to sip on while doing some work.Wrapping all that information up, the ambiance is nice where it's decently sized and spacious with outlets and Kleenex tissue boxes at each table. This means there's a solid amount of space to work with for anything whether that's conversation, studying, or work. -- Now, the cons. They ran out of items early in the evening which actually seemed worth trying. It makes sense that these items sold out as they looked better or worth trying. Particularly the milk tea, boba (topping), chicken fried steak, and rice.Their toppings (boba and jelly) are a dollar each which is pretty hefty. Unless these toppings are also bottomless, I don't see why I would pay double the price especially with these cups being on the smaller side and thus, they likely skimp a bit on the toppings not to overflow the cup. They have a Double Chicken Sandwich without a combo option so you'll have to pay full price for individual items if you did want a bigger meal (larger sandwich). They have combos for every other item.Awesome Chicken Wrap is crazy small so at the price point, it's not worth it. In a combo, it's slightly better, but it looks very much like a dollar menu item from another fast food joint. Skip this.Chicken Sandwich is extremely simple. Bun, mayo, lettuce, chicken, mayo, bun. It leaves something to be desired but it's not overloaded with a clash of flavors, so I'm unsure how to feel. It's fairly filling as is, but it really is just another chicken sandwich that's beat by the more popular chicken sandwich spots. However, we don't have those luxuries on the Ave, so there's that.Drumstick is juicy but the breading could use some work. So the inside chicken is solid but the breading and crunch factor isn't as great.Fries are decent, but can be a bit undercooked. They aren't as crisp as I'd like, I mean they're no McDonalds. They're also lightly salted so some fries might feel unsalted because there's not a lot.tl;dr okay food, okay prices, solid interior for a spot to hang out for an extended period of time refilling house beverages.

This is based on a fast food ish review The chicken sandwich (for only $5!!) they had a promo going was flavorful and better than a LOT of other places I've tried A little in the smaller chicken side but beautifully seasoned and the lady there was sweeeeet!! Quick kiosk order and glad my UW kid had some great food options! Lots of seating inside and plenty of people coming to grab their orders

I was not impressed by Call A Chicken. After a Washington Huskies football game, I gave this place a try. I figured by the long line that restaurant would be decent, at worst, but my visit ended up with much to be desired. After waiting in line for nearly 30 minutes, I placed my order. The worker must have misunderstood what I ordered because the completely wrong thing came out.I was hungry and did not really mind. The sandwich was terrible though. The chicken was extremely greasy and dry on the inside, lacking much flavor at all besides the oil that it was soaked in.The restaurant sits in the middle of University Way -- "The Ave" -- and is normally filled with college students, late night. If you are a college student looking for some cheap and greasy food, this might be the place for you. If you are not, I suggest considering other options.

I have been highly disappointed with the degrade of the food quality from call-a-chicken. It used to be good. Sometimes I found them to be an amazingly good. But off late in multiple occasions from my order the chicken taste started became pathetic. The oil used in deep frying taste is not of great quality. I think after the minor upgrade of their restaurant they compromised on the quality of the food.
