Cali's & Fries

Ordered some tacos, a drink and churro for $18. The tacos were fresh and delicious. The horchatta was great, and they even have a nice salsa chip bar. The service was what you can expect when you have a busy rush.The only thing they need to improve on is keeping the tables clean. My table was visually clean, but it had sticky residue from whatever cleaning or towel solution they used.Plenty of seating, even has outside seating. I usually get the surf and turf fries which are some of the best in town. Today I wanted to try their tacos. The cashier was friendly and polite, definitely can tell she didn't mind her job. Definitely my spot for some Mexican food now!

Been coming here since it was called El Roberto, so probably 2004-2005. Solid spot with great carne asada burritos, California burritos, carne asada fries, rolled tacos etc. haven't had anything I didn't like. Also, love the salsa bar and free chips too if you're dining in. Tops off the whole experience.

Cali and fries is a hidden gem in the Tierrasanta/ Kearney Mesa area. It's consistent in taste and is reasonable with portions and prices. The staff is kind, efficient and friendly. They always greet you when you walk in and seem to have a large amount of regulars. The restaurant is clean and has a complimentary salsa/condiments bar and chips. There is indoor and outdoor seating available and plenty of parking. You can't go wrong with the carne asada fries or the chicken rolled tacos.

Good food, right off the 15 freeway / Claremont Mesa Blvd. Ample parking and free tortilla chips at the salsa bar.

The prices are justified by the portions they give in this establishment. Great tasting meats and I believe they have free chips to snack on next to the salsa bar.

2 dollar taco tuesdays. The asada was not good, but the adobada was great for 2 dollars.

Best carne asada burrito I've had in San Diego since Roberto's disappearance. Large burritos and large portions.

Maybe I'm the only one but after working a 10+hr shift and then playing a little game of pickle ball, I was really craving Mexican food. Adobada chips to be exact. Cravings, they can be super demanding. Got here a little before 9pm, loved the energy-saving mood: dimmed lights at this hour. Not busy at all. I ordered 1/2 order adobada chips with coconut horchata and CA burrito for the husband. Raced home only to find my chips were fries. I was really looking forward to some chips and crunch but the fries were still delicious. If it was any other place, I would probably go back and ask for my actual order but Cali's and Fries did not disappoint with their flavors. A must try: coconut horchata.

This is our go to spot for Mexican food. Their carne asada fries, Cali burrito, and enchiladas are usually what we like to get. And staff are always so nice to me and my family. Also, this is one of my favorite places to get horchata.
