The Taco Shop now as of today serves a Birria Pizza. This place has become my 3rd kitchen. The Pizza is legit. I was the first person to order it. Lucky me. Tacos and burritos are always on point. The staff is awesome. It's just a really spot. Hungry almost Hungry it does not matter its always good. Side note their french fries are worth the trip. Also they put real potatoes in their breakfast burritos, not the french fries so now you understand. legit.

I don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating! I've been going here since 2019 and it's still my reigning champ for burritos in SD.The California Burrito is my favorite. It's huge and feeds me for two meals. An honorable mention for their "HOT" green salsa-- I don't actually know what it's made of but it hurts so good. Service has always been friendly and patient with me and the restaurant space has always been well maintained. You can call ahead if you're in a rush!

I don't know what you been told, but I got somethin' to tell ya!!Once again, back is the incredible! Some of my most sought after eats in town is none other than CTS, California Taco Shop. Why you might ask? Let me make a list for you:1. The carne asada fries are bomb, and always come stuffed to the max.2. The salsas, of which there are 5, are chalk full of flavor and 2 are pretty spicy, which I adore.3. The beans and rice are on-point so the bean and rice burrito's smack.3. The free bean and cheese burrito with a Yelp check-in. Oh yea, I need all dat ish.4. The food is always served hot5. The value/bang for your buck is just right!6. The menu is inventive- you'll find things you might not see on menus elsewhere.7. Lest I forget, the pickled onions and Serranos at the salsa bar are a must for me.8. The rolled tacos are pretty dang good.Oh and if you like menudo, they've got it 7 days a week!Come on down, the PRICE IS RIGHT!Thanks to ALL the employees and the owner for running a delicious, and reasonably priced business that has fulfilled our foodie fanaticism time and time again. I was craving the bomb fish tacos I had 2 days ago but today the fried fish was the size of my pinky. It just tasted like a sour cream, cabbage and tomato tacoReally disappointing cuz the afternoon host was way nicer then the opening staff. I thought I found my fav fish taco spot. This taco shop is hands down my new fav spot! The prices are just right and the portions are so generous. The quality and flavor of the food is just delicious! I love all the extras, the sauces, the toppings, all of that. The salsa bar has a variety of different salsas to go with your preference, and if you dine in they serve complimentary carrots and onions, and give you a side of chips. We always order surf and turf, the shrimps are big, not like the little ones most restaurants use. I love the sauces they add also, that chipotle sauce is cherry. The big burritos are outrageously huge! They're the size of an infant Lol. The restaurant itself is so cool, I love the decor, the staff is so nice also. Highly recommend!

This little hole in the wall is on highland in the same plaza as 7/11. Unassuming and next to a little ice cream shop, California's Taco Shop is not only delicious, it's also a great quick service for very affordable prices. We usually order the typical carne asada fries, but my personal favorite are their shrimp tacos! The shrimp are nice and plump, so tender and the sauces are so refreshing. I'm never left waiting for more than 7-9 minutes and I also love the fact that you can call ahead to pick up. And your food is usually already done when you get there. So if you're looking for an affordable option for Mexican food, look no further than California's Taco Shop!

Had been wanting to try this for a bit... stopped by and got some surf & turf fried to go. It was good!! Salsa was good, service was good. No complaints whatsoever. Kool pix/paintings on the walls, good stuff!!Will definitely be back to try some more stuff!

There is a decent amount of parking here, I don't really like the location but because their food is so fire I don't mind it. I ordered the hot Cheetos birria burrito and it was so good, it's loaded with birria literally 2/3 of the burrito was filled with it and the meat was so tender and filled with flavor, there wasn't too much hot Cheetos in it which is fine because I'm telling you, there's so much birria in it, and it's oozing with nacho cheese. I usually put lime and salsa in my burrito but they had their guac in their salsa bar, and it was good, but spicy! I like spicy! The order took about a 5 minute wait time and their servings are massive, one burrito will make you full full and price is not too bad either I paid about $11 for this massive burrito.The dine in was simple, probably about maybe 10 tables that fit 4. If you're looking for a quick, decent priced and flavorful food, I strongly suggest you make a stop here. Their Cali burritos are so bomb too. Cant wait to come back!

We have been stopping by for their roll tacos, we have tried every combination possible. These are probably one of the best roll tacos we have had. The price, the quantity and the amount of stuffing in them is perfect. This place actually has good hot sauce (different levels of spicy) and it's not runny or pure paste. We have also tried their California burrito and it did not disappoint. Service has always been great and we never have to wait long for our order. They do have music playing in the background and it's never the same genre which is good.
