Caliano pizza

I've been here so many times and don't quite understand why it's taken me so long to write a review. This place is awesome. Everything about it. The pizza's are perfect, gooey cheese with a nice crispy crust. Don't sleep on their burgers and salads too, also a great choice. The ambiance is great too. I've came in on a relaxing chill day and got to watch the Padres while enjoying some of my favorite Pizza. It also helps when the staff is super chill and friendly too. I've been hearing a lot about this Pizza shop recently and I know why. This is my go to for Pizza in the Chula Vista area and it will be for a long time. Check em out for some awesome pizza.

My friend and I, both fortunate to work from home, like to treat ourselves to a lunch out once a month. This time, he convinced me to check out his latest favorite spot--Caliano Pizza. But here's the twist: we weren't there for the pizza. Nope, we were there for their *smash burger*, which he swore was better than the Friendly. I was skeptical but game to see what all the fuss was about.First, the service. It was fine--nothing memorable, but certainly nothing to complain about either. What did stand out, though, was the TV. It was cranked up so loud I wondered if we'd accidentally stumbled into a sports bar karaoke night. If you've ever wanted to eat while competing with ESPN's decibel levels, this is your place.The ambiance? Imagine if a deli and a sports bar had a low-key, no-frills baby. It's casual, functional, and not trying too hard. Perfect for a quick bite when you're more focused on the food than the décor.Now, the highly anticipated smash burger. My friend hyped it up like it was the best thing to hit San Diego. And... well, it was *okay*. Not terrible, but definitely not knocking the Friendly off the throne anytime soon. The crispy edges were nice, but overall, it was just missing that "wow" factor. We also grabbed a slice of pizza, figuring it's a pizza place, so why not? The pizza was, you guessed it, also just okay. Nothing to make me sprint back, but if you're already there, it'll do the job.All in all, Caliano Pizza is a solid choice if you're looking for a quick, casual bite, especially if you love loud TVs and sports highlights. The smash burger and pizza won't change your life, but hey, not every meal has to!

Location was clean.The service was really good. The young man working was really nice and helpful. The pizza was really good and had a nice thin crust to it.They also have individual slices.

Been to Caliano Pizza in Chula Vista several times since they first opened about 3 years ago and have had nothing but a great experience. After living in the east coast for 16 years and trying some of the most delicious pizzas in the state of Connecticut and New York, Caliano Pizza is the closest thing I've had in California to east coast pizza. What makes it delicious is the homemade pizza sauce the owner makes. I highly recommend the following:-Chopped Cheese Sandwich -Meat & Company Pizza -South Bay Pizza-Chicken wings -Smashed cheese burger There's indoor and outdoor seating with a few TVs to watch a game. The service is excellent and restaurant is always clean. Give it a try!Happy Yelping :)

Pizza was yummy but i wouldn't exactly call it ny style. There's a certain way that the dough should fold and how the cheese should be. I enjoyed my slice but would not compare it to a slice. I was also intrigued to see chop cheese on their menu. Decided to try it. It was also good but was it was definitely missing a certain taste. They also added banana peppers, i didnt care for that. All in all, i did enjoy the food but would not compare to our friends in the east coast There are a couple of tables inside and lots of free parking. The staff was friendly as well.

My 2nd trip out here. I ordered a pizza to go a few months back and it was on point! Today, I ordered a basic smash style cheeseburger with no mayo. Hands down one of the best smash burgers in San Diego! The owner was super friendly and also recommended the chopped cheese sandwich. I will definitely have to comeback and try it!

If someone ever told me that my favorite thing at a pizza place would be their burgers, I'd call them crazy. But man, this is the spot.I haven't had many smash burger style burgers before, so my experience is limited, but in my opinion Caliano Pizza has perfected the craft. Bun is perfect, the patty is smashed to crispy goodness, the cheese I usually opt for the deluxe burger as I enjoy the lettuce and tomatoes. We usually have them there, so I can't speak on whether or not the Patties will remain crispy if you take them home.The pizzas are good. New York style. Probably my favorite pizza spot in Chula Vista, though I'm still exploring the area. They also do pizzas by the slice if you want to fill your craving without committing to a whole pizza. My go to is the meat & co.The little shopping center isn't too busy, so I've never had issues with parking. They do have a lobby/seating area, but it's not huge, so I'm not sure how it would work for large parties. Just some 2 or 4 person tables. Service is good, no complaints from me there.

Perfect NY Style hidden gem in a small Chula Vista strip mall. You would drive past this place a millions times before ever seeing the small sign in the corner. Easy to find using Google. Pizza dough was awesome, thin crispy lite flavorful ("no flop"). I loved it. Service was also friendly and quick. It's about $25 avg a pie and slices are $3.50-4.00. Small seating area inside with a couple TVs playing sports. They also have some beers on tap.

This is the closest pizza to East coast style that I have had in San Diego since Hoboken Pizza in PB closed but this place is just down the street from my house so I appreciate that I can have a slice anytime I feel like it. And if I'm feeling like I want to share, I can order a large half pepperoni and onion and half cheese pizza for dinner so my husband doesn't ask me what's for dinner so there's a win-win! It's foldable, has the right amount of grease to cheese ratio, and the crust has a solid tap behind it which are all the marks of a great slice of pizza. Here I have the cheese slice and the large half and half that I took home. The staff is nice, the pizza comes out fast when I place a phone order for pick up, I just love it here!! Hope they stick around for a while! They're quickly becoming the neighborhood favorite!

Initially stepped into this restaurant a few months ago and was deterred by the pricing and what looked like sad deflated thin pizza. So stepped out without purchasing anything.Fast forward to now. Without intentionally looking for it, I have scrolled through countless articles on how amazing their pizza and smash burger is. Swayed, by rave reviews or what could be master marketing, we revisted to celebrate a birthday. Ordered 2 slices, a smash cheeseburger, French fries, and cannoli.$4 per slice. Not bad price for a Costco sized slice. Favorite was mushroom ricotta (white pizza). Little ones did not like the pepperoni pizza, it had too much spices on it for their pallette. Smashburger falls in comparison to others.French fries are "wavy" and seasoned. Kiddos ate this up.Cannoli was delicious fresh! They have a pacman arcade game that sells for 25 cents per 2 lives. Would come back for date night.
