Still our go-to place on Convoy for Banh Mi. Yummy!Love the BBQ pork. Very flavorful and they put plenty in the sandwich. Recently tried the Lemon Grass Ribeye based on other Yelpers. Super delicious. Great lemon grass flavor. Definitely going to get this again. Bread is baked fresh here. Great texture. Parking is somewhat limited. But I usually order on ChowNow App, and run in and pick up. Plenty of seats if you want to eat in. Very clean and spacious. Staff is very friendly. There is a sister restaurant near Pacific Beach (make sure to order at the correct place on App).

Not sure what happened, loved this place but this time was bad. Rude service and frankly feel like the food is a rip off at these prices now. Not sure why a 6pc lettuce wrap egg roll would come with only three little leaves of lettuce, or why as a to-go order, they would just place the egg rolls right on top of the lettuce???

The service was cool and then everything after was not. I ordered the lemon grass beef, grilled chicken, cod, surf and turf, and a beef spring roll. Price points were 11 to 15 bucks it all came out to about 65 dollars. The beef tasted like jack links jerky , the cod tasted like Gordon's fisherman filets. Nothing stood out and the bread tasted chewy and had no crunchy outer shell all and all it wasn't for me and my family.

I have only tried their tofu banh mi sandwich, but it was pretty mediocre. Could use some more flavor, either from sauces or on the tofu or more veggies on the sandwich. I'm still craving a good tofu banh mi after this.

When I unwrapped my banh mi, I noticed a small dark dot at the left end of it. I thought, "mold?" I started to peel it off only to find a coiled piece of wire that may have been lodged in the dough before it was baked. I removed it and checked the rest of my sandwich for any other foreign objects. All four of us checked before we ate. I decided to eat my sandwich and let them know through my review what their staff overlooked. The sandwich was okay.

This place is always so consistent with the quality and service. I have probably tried majority of the menu and it's all great. I went for the odd menu item today and was very impressed. The chicken club is a one of a kind item kinda like a fusion dish. All ingredients were fresh, and as discounted. The only thing I didn't expect was the bananas peppers but it totally completed this beyond my expectations.

I have been coming here for 7 years and it's disappointing to write this review. After the remodeling, new staff is just rude. And the sandwiches have dropped so much in quality starting with the consistency of the bread--baguette but prices are through the roof Food 1/5Baguette does not have that chewy consistency Pickled veggies are less and not as aromatic Meat or veggie filling is less They kept the fresh crushed black pepper consistentAlmost no mayo and barely any sauce--DRYPeanut sauce for spring rolls has runny and not thick or creamy consistency Service 1/5Either they don't want to talk to you or they are rude. It's not the middle aged Vietnamese ladies who were working non stop and didn't greet you as much because they had a job to do anymore. It's youngsters who act like they want to start a fight with you because you parked your Honda Civic next to their Acura Price 0/5I get San Diego is ranked number 1 for inflation in the US, but the fact that the quality and size keeps dropping as the price keeps increasing really makes this place a skip2023: $1.75 for 1 pork egg roll in rice paper 2016: 3 egg rolls for $1.75 I am not sure the fried egg role has much seasoning or flavor and that's coming from someone who eats bland I paid $21 for 1 bahn mi, 1 fried egg roll, and 1 order containing 2 fresh spring shrimp rolls Ambiance 4/5It looks nice after the remodeling, but what's the point when the middle aged ladies who made the best baguettes and the shop smelled like baguettes welcomed you in is gone

So good! Employees seemed nice even though they may have been understaffed. The food came out in a timely manner, and the sautéed tofu sandwhich was very good. I added fried egg for extra protein. A vegetarian's dream!I will definitely be coming back here every time i'm in the area.

I had an urgent craving for banh mi, so jumped on the chance to swing by Cali Banh Mi during a recent Hmart trip. While I was able to satisfy my craving for banh mi, this was just a decent sandwich overall. The restaurant was quite dingy and no-nonsense so I had high hopes, but was disappointed. I got shrimp and pork summer rolls as well as a cold cut banh mi. The prices were higher than I expected (my favorite banh mi place is $6 per sandwich no matter the topping) and despite the shop being pretty empty, it took the food a long time to come out. The summer rolls were well-rolled but there was very little shrimp and pork. The pork was quite tough and dry. The dipping sauce was a bit sweeter than I like, and I wish there was more of a peanut flavor. I had seen a takeout customer buy an armful of baguettes so I was pretty excited about the bread, but it wasn't a stunner for me. Maybe I got the last of a previous batch, as it didn't taste the freshest. The sandwich as a whole was too salty for my taste. I think the pickled daikon may be a major contributor, as it was saltier than it was sweet. The veggies were nice and fresh. I think the filling (especially the cold cuts) to bread ratio was a little too low, and I was getting large mouthfuls of bread.Overall I will likely look to try one of the many other Banh Mi joints in SD next time I'm craving it, as Cali Banh Mi was pretty meh for me.

The inside of the sandwich was a 5/5. The baguette... had the consistency of paper. It was falling apart, and it kind of tasted like sawdust in my mouth. I got a passionfruit as well. It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be.The service was 5/5
