Caldwell County BBQ at Pecan Lake

First, let me explain that my picture is after the food was mostly eatenWe were visiting my daughter and Pecan Lake was part of our vacation activities. We get there to discover Caldwell County BBQ right when you walk in. It's a big open space, bright, airy and has a country feel. You actually walk through and order your food and seat yourself. We had a party of 6.The line staff were really nice and friendly. There's a board handwritten menu with some really great choices. They also have different desserts to choose from. The food was delicious and the meat just melts in your mouth it was so tender.We were also offered some ribs on the house, which was amazing! Listen, the customer service surpassed many spots I've already been to. The restroom was clean and well lit and there are lockers right outside the restroom. I guess for the entertainment area-Pecan Lake in case you need to store some items.There's also a bar on the other side, but not sure if it was a part of Caldwell.Definitely, some of the best BBQ I've had!!! This is a must try if you're in the area.

We came here to celebrate a dinner, and were completely wowed by the location & surroundings itself. Nestled in the Pecan Lake community, this large modern barn style building offers plenty of outdoor seating with picnic tables, grassy areas with yard games, and a huge screen tv for your entertainment. We made our way to the line, and it was LONG. I knew to expect a wait but we waited nearly 1 1/2 hour standing in the heat just to place our order. By the time we reached the ordering counter, we barely had an appetite, and those around us were very visibly upset as were we. They really need to do something about this as it can be quite frustrating, especially among families with small children.While my family was waiting in line, I made my way to the indoor bar to grab an ice cold beer. There was only one bartender on hand, and I waited over 20 minutes just to place my drink order. If they see just how busy it is, why don't they add more help?! He was great and kind and poor guy was doing his best to keep up.When it was finally our turn to order, we got 2 family meal deals for 8 each included 4 pounds of meat & 2 quart sides of your choice. We did macaroni & cheese, potato salad & creamed corn. The food was delicious, but the potato salad wasn't good. We also never received barbecue sauce, and apparently you have to go up to the counter & ask. I wish would've known this, or they could've asked if we would like some. Why not just put out a counter of sauces for those to get it on their own like most places. Overall, we did not have a great experience, and most everyone was already to just get out of there after we ate. The food was good, but our experience was so bad it makes us not want to return. Once & if they figure out how to make their lines flow more efficiently, we would give them another try. Until then, we won't be back.

This is a great spot because of all the amenities this entire complex offers a lot of fun stuff to do and it looks great. Although a 40 min drive even in east Mesa for me it was a great visit.I ordered the 3 meat sandwich with brisket, pulled pork and sausage. I'm not gonna lie the brisket was a bit on the drier side(maybe they gave me lean) but I couldn't finish it. The pulled pork was good but needed some more flavor. The sausage was good and tasted as how I expected. It was great for the price of variety you get too. The mac and cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad were good. Love the service that they provided as it was attentive and very friendly.

We are big fans of Caldwell! This was our first time at this new location, and we loved it. There are tons of seating indoors and out. The patios have misting fans, and indoors were nice and chilly. There are tv's with sports games on. A bar, separate from the main ordering counter with yummy looking drinks.We had to wait in line to order, but it went fairly quickly. The staff were friendly.And the food! We love the brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and slaw.... and the pickles ha!

Love Caldwell so decided to try the new location. As always the food was amazing. Got the General Patton sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad on the side. During our visit we learned that they don't come with the sandwich anymore, they moved to an a la carte menu. Was disappointed by this, but the sides are too good not to get. Plus the service is amazing. So still giving this place 5 stars. For the new location, way different ambiance. Much larger, open and an industrial-barn feel (just made that up, feel free to use it). I can see how it's really great for families who are visiting this area to do all the new activities. Plus there's a bar area located on the side. For myself I do enjoy the original location's vibe the best, so will probably go back to that one the next time I visit.

Omg, such a bomb n tasty BBQ joint, so flavorful, n portions were generous on the family platter. We all loved it, tender n juicy. Customer service was great, I believe a supervisor or manager was even walking around checking on people which is a great thing. A must try!!

The best BBQ we had in Arizona!We were in town for a wedding and ended up ordering take out not once, but twice in a 3 day period! We started with BBQ salads for the ladies and the next day, we tried some more items and everything was delicious! What stood out the most, was their customer service. Every single person that I came into contact with over those two interactions went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The day of the wedding, I ordered catering for the groom's party and everything was seamless. The person I ordered with on the phone was SO knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. After I paid the invoice online, I received a phone call making sure everything went OK. A few days after we returned home to NC, I received another call asking about my experience. Those small touches really make a good experience, great.I highly recommend Caldwell County BBQ!

$14 for a very weak Old Fashion with chip ice and not even an appropriate glass! You all need to do better!

Alright, folks, this wasn't my first restaurant experience, but it was one of the best, if not the best, in recent memory. Ten stars all around. If you have been to any of the Caldwell County BBQ locations, you know that they have the best BBQ already. So, let's talk about the atmosphere... This area is going to be like a theme park. Pecan Lake will be a very cool family hangout. You'd better go before everyone else finds out about it. Bring a group with you from the food and vibe.Finally, customer service. Steve Sellers is the manager of this Caldwell County BBQ location, and I will drive the extra miles just to get BBQ because he sets the tone. Here's the story. I roll up and see all the construction, three parking lots, and a few signs, but I'm not sure where to park nor where to enter. I called the restaurant, and Steve answered. He says, "Where are you, and I'll come get you in the golf cart?" Boom! Just like that, my friends and I are being dropped off at the front door. Yeah, I'm coming back with a large group. The food is fantastic. The complex is freaking awesome, and the customer service rocks. Thanks, Steve, for making this a memorable experience.
