Easily one of my favorite coffee spots to come and do work at in San Diego. They are open they say on the door until 6pm Tuesday to Sunday but Yelp says until 330pm. It's never a ton of people here when I visit which is typically during the mid morning / early afternoon which is kinda surpassing. There is ample space for seating. They are dog friendly with a huge back patio with artificial turf which when it's empty, I toss a ball and let my dog run around a bit. It's a Black owned business which is always a plus. They sometimes have plants and art for sale by BIPOC creatives. There is free wifi which is pretty fast given that there is typically 8+ people connected to it the few times I've been. The staff is pretty dope. Met about 4 different ones and each one seems to be nicer than the previous. There's a gender neutral bathroom too. Drinks are made to perfection. Last one I had was their house special which was called the Shabazz and that should be everyone's first drink if you visit here. Can't find anything bad about this place. Maybe the fact that parking is all street parking and that it looks like it's closed half the time. Other than that, its a privilege to be part of this community and to join in the larger movement. It's an easy 5 stars from me.

What a darling space. Truly marvelous on the inside.Came to catch up with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The barista was enthusiastic about what was on offer and I appreciate a good recommendation! (I do wish they served their X-Factor drip, though. It is AMAZING. You are missing out if you don't grab a bag!)Much love to a shop that provides resources and community awareness. It is so important and makes the extra circling for parking worthwhile.

Cafe X is more than just a coffee shop, it's a representation of community. Click their website and you can read more about how this space was intentional dreamed up and created by the people for the people. I am grateful to have spent time in community with others in this space. They have a large facility perfect for gathering. And their drinks are pretty delicious too!

"We're more than just coffee here." - Owner CynthiaThis coffee shop does it all--amazing coffee, delicious pastries, clean indoor and outdoor seating, free wifi, AND supports local businesses and the community. They host weekly financial support groups and game nights, invite local musicians, and sell art pieces and items from local artists and entrepreneurs. There's a lot to take in here, but the light jazz in the background and positive energy from the staff makes it all so inviting! The delicious pastries are from Sweet Treats by Thick, a local bakery. My favorites are the ooey gooey bar (thick and rich) and peach cobbler cinnamon roll (light and sweet). If you like peanut butter, the PB chew goes harddd. Overall, would love to come back to study or just hang. This isn't your typical pick up & go type of coffee shop. Come for the experience!

Come for the coffee, stay for the stories!Drinks:Nice quaint list of drink options, coffee and non-coffee options. Opted for the iced coconut thai latte - espresso, coconut milk, coconut syrup, condensed milk. It was delicious! Not too sweet as desired. I would add an extra shot next time for a stronger kick. I also tried some of their sweets, all made in-house. I don't usually like lemon cake, but that was my favorite! The peanut butter was fresh out the oven!Service:The owner and her business partner are just some of the loveliest people on the planet! They personally went through the coffee options with me, gave me a history on building their business, and even explained their coffee bean blend. Atmosphere:A nice spacious cafe to relax in, if you are in the area. A safe and decorative space to enjoy coffee or tea. The inspiration driven by Malcolm X is amazing to say the least!

UPDATE: I've been back twice since hahaha. I love this spot. The service is consistent, welcoming, and full of energy. Cynthia is always there to hook you up and greet you with a smile. Maya has been hooking up my lattes! The two of them together are such a great duo and sure to make you feel better than when you left. I go to try some lemon cake, ooey gooey bars, and a cinnamon roll cake recently. LORD THAT STUFF IS DANGEROUS. So good but a little goes a long way. One other big thing I'm noticing and loving about this location is it being a co-op where there are multiple businesses in this establishment and they all share the space and promote/support one another. It's really refreshing to see. Next time you're there for coffee, pop in to one of the other shops. If you're there in the weekend they might have Mack's Soul food grilling up deliciousness in the backyard. The family vibes here are beautiful. You gotta check it out!

Cafe X is a hidden gem! Cafe X is SO cute and located in a fun and unique co-working space! This is the perfect coffee shop to work from! They have free wifi for customers and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The Cafe X team is friendly and energetic. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking Cafe X out! There is street parking available. There are a lot of homeless by the underpass so definitely try to park as close to Cafe X as possible.

When A Road Trip Is Really An Adventure! EVERYBODY who really knows me, knows that I'm ALWAYS looking for the next cup of coffee! But the secret is that I'm not just looking for coffee I'm looking for an EXPERIENCE. Today I found a WONDERFUL experience at CAFE X! From the moment we stepped across the threshold, we were greeted by the beautiful smile of co-owner Cynthia Ajani. She pulled us in and welcomed us home and my spirit relaxed and nodded, "yeah."What a warm ambiance and great conversation and I learned the mission of a place that's so much more than a cup of coffee! Cynthia served a cup of joy flavored with a commitment to community and service that was mind blowing! But you're probably wondering about the wonderful menu and what we tasted, right? Okay, so I had the wild berry lemonade which was sooo freakishly delicious! And my business partner had, The Shabazz which was simply divine!!! So many great choices that it was hard to make up our minds but we were pleased with our choices nonetheless.Cafe X is and was the VIBE that I needed, and was looking for but didn't realize I needed or was looking for! Thank You Cynthia for the time you spent sharing with us today and for the amazing beverages! We will be back, by ANY BEANS NECESSARY!

Make this your new coffee shop ASAP. I absolutely loved my visit here! PRO TIP: If you park on the hill, dont forget to curb ur wheels LOL, I got a ticket bc I totally forgot. Back to Cafe X, this cafe is in the cutest space I have seen in so long. There is tons of seating, plants, decor, and ambiance to make you feel at home. Their menu isnt huge, but I could already tell it was going to be good.Brown Sugar Shabazz: YES, this was amazing. I got the hot version and I fell in love with it. Its so good and toasty. The foam on top had toasted brown sugar i think and it was divine. I will 1000% get this again
