Fried calamari, enormous portion and tasted great. Shrimp tacos, chicken tacos, both outstanding. Shrimp and halibut ceviche top notch. The only thing I wasn't very fond of, the bacon wrapped dates. Somehow I missed the fact that it's bacon wrapped to start with. Just not very flavorful. Inadvertently came in during happy hour so prices were quite reasona

Honestly love Cafe Sevilla. We stopped in for happy hour and had a really good time. It's great that it lasts until 6:30pm. Loved the spicy octopus ceviche. Tender octopus, the right amount of citrus, and crisp grilled bread with avocado to round it all out. Lamb sliders were really tender also. It almost melted in your mouth and the French bread wasn't too hard nor did it cut up my mouth. Glad it came with greens because your boy tries to stay regular. Can't not have croquettes at a Spanish restaurant! Fried, cheesy, slightly spicy. Came with a little tomato sauce underneath to offset the rich fried goodness. Just got beer and an espresso martini to drink but no complaints. Food came out super quick, which we appreciated since this was our first stop for happy hour. They also have tons of different paellas to choose from and would probs try that next time.

Overall: Great food and service for those looking for tapas. The good: Service was very accommodating, we sat outside on a chilly night with our 1-year old and they were very helpful with our heat lamp. The tapas were great as was the black seafood paella, so we definitely left full and happy. Decent amount of outdoor seating. The not-so-good: A little pricey, but you're in the heart of the Gaslamp District so it's expected. Took awhile, we were there for about 2 hours, which is a long time with a baby. Food/drink: 8/10Atmosphere: 8/10Service: 8/10

This joint has been on my list for awhile now, and we finally got in to check it out...It was happy hour so we had to try nearly everything! All the food was great, though the garlic sauce was severe! My only criticism is the papas bravas should have been crispy for texture.Ambiance is luxury medieval, service was distracted, and prices were in line with the tourist district...This is my go to tapas joint now, it made the list!

3.5 starsMy husband and I stopped in recently hoping to grab a small meal and some drinks before our concert that was nearby. Since we weren't too hungry, we opted for tapas and cocktails. We were there for an early dinner so there wasn't live entertainment yet, but I'm sure it would be a fun atmosphere later on in the night. Starting off, service was really slow. Not sure if it was because we were seated at the counter or if it was just a bad night for our server. We started off with some watermelon margaritas, which were delicious but didn't seem to have very much alcohol in them. Shortly after, we ordered the 4 tapas we wanted, but our server came back to let us know 1 of them was sold out and was unavailable. He never came back to see if we wanted anything else instead. We also were never offered any water the entire time we were there. Food was pretty decent, but definitely overpriced being that it is in a busy part of Gaslamp. There was a mix up with one of our tapas, but it was quickly corrected and the right dish was brought out. We ordered the croquetas de queso y jamón, halibut and shrimp ceviche, and the braised rib coca. All were tasty, but you also can't really go wrong with those choices. By the time our server finally came back around to check on us, we were done with our food and ended up just getting another round of drinks instead of another tapa since we were cutting it close with the time due to the mix up with our order. Our second round of drinks were still tasty, but still barely tasted like there was any alcohol in them at all, despite one of the drinks being an old fashioned. A little bizarre for me as someone who doesn't drink very often. Overall, we had an okay experience here. Initially we had wanted to order a paella, but then thought maybe it would be too much food before our concert. We had initially made a note that we'd come back to try it, but overall with the mediocre service and the overpriced food, I think there are other options out there we'd rather try instead.

The sangria was not very good, the wine base tasted cheap. We tried the original and fruit flavored. Both were terrible.I enjoyed the octopus ceviche. It had a nice spice kick to it. The croquettes were ok.Expensive even for happy hour. Ni5 sure we would be back although they do have paella...

I don't know if I was having a bad night or they were, but the end result remains the same- a good time was not had. My bestie, my husband, and I went for dinner and a show. We were excited for the Flamenco and belly dancing. I bought 3 thickets, which were very expensive even though I had a discount that gave me $10 off each. Their communication said that doors open at 6pm. We were in line before 6pm (I hate being late). Around 6.15-ish, they finally open the door and take one group in. Takes forever for the hostess to come back, at which time she took a second group in. This group came after us, so I was not happy with this. I then see that other groups are just following in as well, so we decided to do the same. We are seated and fter a fairly long while given a "salad"- probably the highlight of the menu even though it had prosciutto- I don't eat pork.... it's OK though, easily able to give it to the husband. It definitely took a while before someone came to take the drink order, and at this point, we were able to ask to switch food items. In the meantime, the Flamenco show started and went into intermission, and the belly dancer began when they finally brought out the meals for everyone. My husband had the salmon and short rib- this was the best meal, but it also came at an additional cost. I got the mushroom paella, which also came at an additional cost. The bestie stayed with the seafood paella that came with the ticket (btw, if you are like me and can't handle spicy- don't eat this). My paella was burned and I had to return it. I don't eat class and muscles and octopus and most of the things in the paella that comes with the ticket- I think it is absolutely awful that I had to pay extra to be able to accommodate my diet restrictions especially after spending $257.91 on just 3 tickets (again, that's with the discount). The belly dancer finished and the Flamenco came back. My new paella came towards the end of that performance. While they did fix my meal, I'm pretty sure they tried to salvage the burned paella because with some bites, I could taste the faint flavor of the burn. The show officially ended- everyone was finishing the main course. The dessert was yet to come...One of the things we did ask our waiter was if there is an alternative to the lemon bar dessert to which he said he can switch it to cheesecake. He later came back to tell us it'll be $15 per cheesecake. I think that is an insane amount. We passed, and I ultimately did not have dessert because I don't like citrus desserts. We got a check for the upgrades and the tequila the husband ordered. It was an extra $152.40 as they automatically add a 20% gratuity and a 5% surcharge. The had the nerve to ask for an additional tip. This experience was not worth over $400 for 3 people.

Notables:+ GRAN CORONAS+ could eat anything with their homemade AIOLI+ paella + lemon tart + great show, very entertaining + excellent service from NATARA + loved the vibes :) + awesome flamenco dancers and singers! This restaurant is in the heart of downtown, so parking not great. We parked at the lot next to Morton's and walked over, it's about 5-8min. Definitely recommend this show! Worth every penny :)

Nice place! Anytime there is the soccer championship ( like Euro or World Cup ) we are going to try the dishes from the winners. We been to Italian restaurant, we tried Argentinians kitchen and now cheers to Spain for great game! So here we are! Trying cafe Sevilla for the first time. The place its self is ok. Inside you can smell so much frying oil, we got seated outside, everything was great, just a sun decided to fry me by the end of the dinner :DFood was good. We had tuna tartare , grilled pulpo ( octopus) - appetizers were ok. Hubby had a lamb skewer with a side of Brussels sprouts ( nothing crazy), mom in law had a lamb chops ( she said it was good , and I had a Traditional Paella SPICY I loved it! It was really nice and yummy! Overall nice! Little things: all the plates were chipped, not enough salt on dishes, my main dish were brought like 5-10 later than my family's, cocktails wasn't really good. BTW! Ladies! Make sure you check the restrooms! They got a bonus for ya ;D ( see my pics for details). I loved it at the end anyway! Thank you!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Fantastic tapas, drinks, happy hour. Our host Roberto was graceful and welcoming. My kids loved the tacos, empanadas, paella, even the Brussels sprouts. One of them almost cried tears of joy eating a beef empanada. The other said he wanted to be buried under 1,000 of them. Best meal I've enjoyed in San Diego.
