A lovely and quiet little cafe that offers delicious coffees and some baked goods. Service was very friendly and the coffee was top tier. The bagel was fresh and a good size. This cafe is perfect for a quick pick me up. Tables are open with a 45 min limit per customer but not sure if that's applicable when it's slow. There is also a table outside for outside dining with lots of nearby benches. The owners gave my pup a sizable amount of treats. We will definitely be coming back. :)

I was very disappointed by this place after seeing the high yelp reviews. The coffee was awful and I didn't find anything special about this place. The restroom is in the basement and you have to crouch to use it unless you're under 5' tall. The service seemed friendly, but that's the extent of the credit I'll give this place.Perhaps the sandwiches are decent; I didn't try it.

This place rocks my socks. It's the friendliest service and cheapest coffee/breakfast you'll find around the Porter Square area. (Note: they prefer cash, but will take credit/debit with a small 75 cent fee - still a great deal). I had the great pleasure of finding this place when searching for a breakfast sandwich one morning nearby Porter Square. This place was a great find for breakfast! It was a slowish morning - I was one of 2 or 3 customers in the cafe - but it gave me the chance to have a table for myself (they had signs up with a 45min table limit, so I'd assume the place can get pretty crowded other times of the day). Their breakfast sandwich menu was super flexible (pick bagel or croissant, pick toppings other than eggs, you get the point). I tried an egg + mushroom on croissant one day (about $6.50) and a bagel with ham + egg on my second visit (about $5.50) - both came out piping hot and were quite filling! Highly recommend for a classic egg sandwich. For coffee, I got an almond milk espresso macchiato and this ran me about $3.50 for a double shot - this is a solid dollar cheaper than any nearby location (and all of their coffees were priced like this). One thing to note, like a lot of other cafes in the area, the place isn't open on Mondays. If you're looking for very friendly service and a well priced breakfast, please oh please check out Cafe Rustica!

Looking for an egg and cheese led to a quick stop in here. Wasn't looking for anything special. Found a cute little cafe serving breakfast food in the greater Somerville square area. My egg and cheese on an everything bagel was nothing crazy but got the job done. Their breakfast sandwiches are very customizable to your liking. What did set a high bar was the owners phenomenal customer service and people skills. Although this was our first time coming in, he treated us as regulars. I felt very welcomed. If I'm in the area, I will make sure to stop by strictly for the customer service!

I used to live right down the street from this cute little cafe and decided to finally give it a try a few days before moving away! Definitely regret not stopping by sooner, it was a nice experience! The staff were very friendly and kind upon entering. There were no other customers ( I came on a weekday in the early afternoon ) but in the mornings, I know it can be a lot busier as people are grabbing breakfast and coffee. I got a sandwich and coffee, both things were made relatively quickly. I ended up taking out, but they have seats inside and outside which I'm sure would've been a pleasant experience. The food itself was great - I highly recommend ordering in person rather than on any third party food app as the prices are noticeably more expensive if you do ( I saw that the sandwich I wanted was ~$11 on the app but only ~$9 in store ). I decided to go with prosciutto and provolone and didn't regret it! It was very cleanly made and very filling for the price. The coffee I bought as well tasted really fresh and had just the right sweetness ( they asked if I wanted to adjust it before I left as well ).Overall I loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to come back to try more of their menu. Thanks for the great food and kind service, Cafe Rustica!

Nestled in the Garfield Street Historic District of Somerville is the most scrumptious Italian cafe I've come across since moving to the Boston area! I came here while suffering an abysmal hangover and after exploring Mt. Auburn cemetery on an equally abysmally hot day with some friends. We were in dire need of sandwiches on fresh Italian bread-with a fresh mozz base of course; because otherwise we'd simply perish. We all got large iced teas (house made) and the Cafe Rustica Special Sandwich. This sandwich DELIVERED in terms of size, quality and taste. It was loaded with fresh mozz (thank god), tomato, basil, pesto and some added prosciutto. We devoured our food on a cute little terrace located behind the restaurant and plan to do so again sometime soon! Check out Cafe Rustica for your next fresh mozz sandwich craving, I highly recommend.

I ordered 2 everything bagels with egg and avocado. The price is really cheap compared to some other cafes in the area, so if you're a college student or looking for a quick bite, this is the place for you. However, judging purely off of taste, the egg was a bit under-salted for me. All in all, a pretty decent spot!

It's weird. They don't have a website- just a Facebook page from 6 years ago. No way to actually see their menu ahead of time. I needed to pick up sandwiches. I called at 1:00 to make sure there were actually open until 3:30 as it says on Google. They said yes. I show up at 2:30 and they tell me the kitchen is closed. Their turkey avocado is delicious. Coffee is good but I truly wish they would work through what feels like a couple of basic customer service issues. It is not that hard to create a website.
