Café Madeleine

Look for the red building on a cutsie street. You'll feel like you're transported to a European cafe eating here. I ordered the cappuccino and it came out with a piece of chocolate. I also ordered a pear crepe and a side of scrambled eggs. The pear crepe was DELICIOUS. I ate my meal at one of the window nooks. I enjoyed people and dog watching. I felt like I was back in Europe eating at one of the local street cafes. It seemed like this spot was a local go to for breakfast or coffee. You order your food at the counter and the server will bring your food to you. From the menu, it doesn't look like this place has much to offer. However, if you read it carefully, you may find something you'd like.

My friend and I met here at 11am on a Saturday. There was ample parking in the neighborhood. Just a short walk where you can enjoy all of the beautiful plants and flowers along the way. We walked right up and ordered at the counter. At this location you order, take your number to your seat of choice and your meal is brought out. The employee taking our order was super sweet and genuinely happy. She even paid us a compliment on our attire and it honestly made our day. Sometimes we don't realize those little sweet words go a long way for somebody who needs to hear them! They had the perfect amount of options to choose from. The type of place where you pick something this time and you can't wait to come at least two to three more times because there's a few other things on the menu you want to try desperately lol! A lot of different toast options with toppings, paninis, breakfast sandwiches, avocado, toast and so much more! They have a great coffee menu with a lot of different tasty things. I went for the Brie Panini and the Rose vanilla latte. The Panini was extra tasty and I chose the side of fruit. The fruit was really good fruit! Not just your basic fruit chopped from a bag. I did wish the Brie was a little more melty but I still inhaled it. It had apple and bacon. They did not disappoint on the amount of bacon. All around great Panini. The latte was good, but it did take me realizing that I should have been given a straw To fully enjoy it without having to pull rose petal flakes out of my mouth with each sip. Without the straw I was taking in the rose flakes on top of that didn't seem to melt in my mouth and I think we're more for decoration. They did not swallow. My friend ordered the same drink and received a straw and I had no issues so I grabbed a straw and The satisfaction continued. There was also ample open seating when we got there at that time which was awesome. There were maybe three or four more tables opened up around us as well. First come first serve seating. I also grabbed one of the chocolate lava cakes to heat up in the microwave when I got home and it did not disappoint! They had a ton of other desserts and pastry like things that just looked top-notch. I can't wait to go back and try something else! A cute little spot to meet a friend and catch up. A great spot to go have brunch even as a party of one with a good book. A fun little social spot to go on a first date over a nice coffee and shared dessert (If they may be so lucky). I guess I should mention that most of the tables are 2 to 4 seating which is absolutely perfect. And a cute little spot to just go and treat yourself! Then go do some shopping around the corner.Conclusion: I highly recommend this place. Definitely one of my go-to's now!

Such a cute spot! Got a savory crepe & cappuccino- both were alright, nothing special. I really like the outdoor seating space, it's so adorable for breakfast/brunch! The service was quick and the staff was nice! It's casual dining and you seat yourselfDefinitely a spot to try in north park, I need to try more things on the menu next time, and maybe a different coffee because it wasn't amazing in my option (was super super strong!)

Café Madeleine is a quaint and cute café to indulge in a quality coffee and pastry. Located on the corner, there's street parking along the residential area off of the main intersection. It's next door to Bunny Chow and some other local businesses. Seating inside has two top tables to give a more open but intimate vibe, and there's a water cup area inside. Service is quick, and it can get pretty busy on weekends.

What an adorable cafe to enjoy many delicious options. Started with the Mexican coffee, delicious and flavorful. We had the basic breakfast, the breakfast panini, and the quiche. Nothing disappointed. We split the pear crepes which we highly recommend. All staff were friendly and welcoming. I would visit all the time if I lived here.

Had the best quiche in San Diego. It's not dense where I struggle to finish a slice of quiche because not only that it's dense but its overly rich. Cafe Madeleine's quiche is very light - very eggy - so much so that I could eat another slice or two.

I love coming here and sitting outside with my dog. The service is great, the food is fresh and I really like their Italian sodas.

We absolutely love coming to this place for coffee and breakfast. The South Park neighborhood is so quaint and quiet, with a ton of cute shops and restaurants. The staff at Cafe Madeleine is always great. The food, coffee and pastries are wonderful as well. However, we love to bring our dog along which requires us to sit outside. The tables and patio/sidewalk seating is lovely, but the amount of flies around the tables is unbearable. And it is ALWAYS a problem. When we sit outside I constantly feel like it's a complete sprint to finish our food to avoid the annoyance of buzzing around you and the table. I'm not sure if they've attempted to rectify the situation (i.e. fly repellent fans, discarding of food delivery boxes in the area, etc.) but I have yet to see any change in the 5 years I've lived here.

We got the prosciutto panini, chocolate & banana crepe, pistachio matcha latte, and London fog tea. Everything was soooo yummy, I'm still thinking about the prosciutto panini to this day The London fog was delicious, but the pistachio matcha latte was lacking the pistachio The crepe made me crave some more crepes. It took a while for our crepe to arrive though cause they took back the number stand thing and didn't know which table the crepe goes to.. BUT!! Would definitely come again to try their other savory breakfast items

I got the smoked salmon panini and the drip coffee. The drip coffee is unlimited refills which I always love - yay!! The salmon panini was really good, the bread was a perfect crunch and I felt like they gave a generous amount of salmon. The servers at the front were all super friendly and happy to answer my questions. The vibe is so cute!!! My friend and I loved the little French cafe vibe they created.
