We were staying at the local Index Cabins (awesome!) and popped in for dinner. Listed on the historic registrar and rejuvenated by the Nordstrom family, the restaurant was pretty good! We enjoyed a kale and mushroom salad (kale could have used a bit of massaging; it was pretty rough), the skirt steak (tasty) with pineapple rum rice (not very tasty)and a flatbread (also pretty tasty). They were out of several items, which we wished we were told at the start versus when it came time to order. Outside there's a great view of multiple mountain tops. Overall a good place to try in Index (also, one of the few places to try in Index, lol). It's around the corner from the General Store & Town Hall; you get picture.

Had a wonder lunch at this beautifully restored hotel. I had the steak sandwich for lunch, my partner had the chicken Pesto sandwich. I also ordered fries and was surprised at how crispy and delicious they were. We will definitely return.

I've enjoy a lot of meals here in the past year and it's absolutely delicious! Chef Faebian is kind and knows how to prepare a well balanced meal. We watched as he wore all the hats one night, host/bartender/chef/dishwasher, and he handled it like a boss. Respect! I highly suggest checking this hidden gem out

We stopped for lunch on a sunny day, and were so happy that we did! The chef is top notch, and I enjoyed my Country salad very much. My husband had a delicious fried egg, bacon, and cheese burger with the best fries ever. Great coffee, free refills. It is such a charming place, and the surroundings are out of this world. It is a perfect day trip from Everett or Seattle. We were given a tour of the rooms upstairs, even though we weren't staying the night. The entire building has been completely renovated and is beautiful.

The Bush House is a beautifully restored building in Index, WA. The North Fork Kitchen has excellent food. I had the creamy pesto ravioli and a carrot-fennel salad. My partner had the tomato soup and a mushroom flatbread. The restaurant was short staffed and the chef was our server. The whole dinner experience was fantastic. After dinner, the owner gave us a tour of the facility. Highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner.

We had a very nice dinner here tonight the Flatbread was awesome, the salmon cakes were very very tiny and were pretty good, the cauliflower Buffalo wings were very good. They have done a great job with the restoration of this beautiful building. Had a very good crowd, and I was happy to see that. The only thing that needs to be done is the waitress and server ( same person) needs to stop rubbing her hands all over her face and hair.Pretty gross, especially the nose. Yuck

I was not happy with the skirt steak. It was a tough cut of meat. The cut potatoes were good, but there were no vegetables included with the meal. It is a very beautiful Inn, though. My friend ordered the cod, which we thought was tasteless. Lots of vegetables came with the cod to share with me. The staff were great!

EXTREMELY RUDE OWNER + A wife/owner who's word is crapI'm on a climbing vacation to Index.I've patronized Bush House every single day I've been here.I've got the receipts. No moreWent in this morning to grab a cappuccino. Asked the wife/owner if I could charge my lithium battery. She said ok to charge on the porch if I stayed next to it. She didn't want to be responsible for it being left inside. We both agreed it was an expensive piece of equipment. I was going climbing so I couldn't stay.Came back for dinner tonight. I asked for the wife, she wasn't around. They got me Thomas, whom I assumed was in a manager or assistant manager position. I asked if I could charge on the porch whilst I ate dinner. He agreed. He showed me to a table, showed me an outlet, and said I could move a bench out of the way.I plug in and wait to orderThe wife comes by and i say hello I'm back.I got permission from Thomas to plug in.She goes away, husband comes back a few minutes later. Saying i could charge now but never again. He said "My wife told you no this morning, and you went behind our backs and got Thomas to say yes"WTF?!?That's not what the wife told me this morningI asked to speak with the wife again when i showed up for dinner.I told him, I didn't sneak behind anyone's back. Your wife told me it was ok this morning to charge if i started with my batteries. He then said did you move this bench?Yes, thomas said i could."I'm done talking about this"So i just left. Never to come back again. So rude.So unnecessarily rude. And this guy/wife are hospitality owners?!?!BTW, I'm a medical doctor.I don't lie.Raymond Tan, MD

What a cool old place! The owner has meticulously restored it with modern conveniences. Shared bathrooms sound weird, but there are lots of them and they are conveniently located around the inn. Rafting and rock Climbing are right down the block and skiing is 30 mins away at Steven's pass. I was hesitant to stay here because of a couple neg reviews and I am picky about where I stay. I loved this inn and willdefinitely be back with friends!
