Burritos Santana

It took a while. Kept giving them chances. Visits were very spaced apart for me, since I can count 5 other places within a mile. Competition is hella tough nearby for sure. Now, they've definitely improved over the last few years. Almost at the 4 star level now. Slightly inconsistent but still average or better for certain items. This is a taco shop type thing that occurs everywhere, since the cooks all do their thing a little different. No real guidelines to follow, so the preparation can vary. I do like the salsa choices, there are about 5 different ones. The Chilanga is the best I think. The carne asada fries are done very well here with plenty loaded on top, with pico de gallo too!I tried a mini taco special quite a while ago, and got the carne asada, cabeza and adobada. All pretty tasty but the carne was the best of the bunch. Really close to home so I'll start to revisit more. It is only 2 blocks away. Most likely they are under new management or ownership in the last few years. Things on menu look revamped, lots of options. The open 24 hour sign is still up, however it is not 24 hours every night. Pretty sure Thursday-Saturdays they are open all night. They have been having steady business, so that is a good sign.

Pretty good taco shop with a drive thru! Food is made fresh so there's a bit of a wait. People here are friendly. There is some covered seating area outdoors. I got their carne asada fries and it was a large portion. The fries were crispy. I liked that this place still includes pico on their carne asada fries because a lot of places don't anymore. The meat was perfect. They have a list of salsas to choose from and they were all great. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.

Went here 2/10/2024 around 9:50 pm. Pulled up in drive through, wasn't there even a good minute before a man ask can I help you, I said one moment as we were discussing what to order briefly , the man on intercom then said it's a car behind you! Mind you I just pulled up only been in drive through 1 min, guy was very rude tone wise! I kept my cool ordered food, then when I got to window it was like a stair down , guy was not pleasant, horrible customer service! I wanted to drive off and decline order but my husband was so hungry we had not eaten all day! Then as he returned my card after I paid I began putting my card in my purse before driving off he again gave me a mean look like as if I was taking to long. The nachos was good. The guy working drive through very rude & bad representation of business!! I won't go back again!! Service horrible!!! we would of ordered more food but after this rude man was rushing us I just made sure my husband got food and left! We had a long day of work and was just trying to get good food. Very disappointed in service here!!

Those have to be the worst tacos I have ever eaten in my life. Got a few carne asada tacos hoping they would be decent. Didn't expect much but wow they were horrible. Gristly chewy grey carne. No bueno!!! Ended up eating one and throwing the others out. Then not 10 mins later I was running to the toilet.

I don't get the hate. This place is legit. Best machaca burrito I've had. PERIDOT. Born and raised in SD, so I've had my fair share. Trust me.

Ordered a milanesa torta on Uber eats and had a burrito delivered. Called to inform the restaurant and maybe find out if there was a mix up but the woman on the phone only said "it didn't specify" which doesn't make sense as there has never been a milanesa burrito on any Mexican restaurant menu. Instead of offering to help in anyway that was the only response she gave and decided to give attitude saying "maybe you didn't order right." Horrible service and from a business standpoint point, horrible idea to have staff like that.

This is my family's go to for our tacos, burritos, and carne asada fries for YEARS. They seem to have upgraded the patio since I last came to order. Their lights definitely makes the patio more inviting to eat outside. They are generous with their portions. They have a list of sauces to choose from and they're all great! Love the red sauce. The fries have a crispy batter to them which I like. They make your food fresh so there is a wait time after you order, but super worth it. Also it's open late which is a plus for those late night cravings. I've gone here so many times so this review is past overdue, but definitely check them out.

Just horrible...another burrito stamp card filled up and now they won't honor it. I've spent thousands of dollars at this place over the past 15 years. Not ordering from them any more. Chuy's and Carnitas Las Michoacánas from here on out.

I frequent this joint quite frequently as its conveniently located near my son's gym. This place never seems to have a line of cars in the drive-thru and that's another reason why I stop by. There is nothing remarkable about this place. The prices are decent. It's a fine taco shop to fill your tummy. The 1 star rating is for the inconsistent willfulness of the employee/owner to never accommodate my order. When she's in a good mood, she places my order correctly, when she's not- she doesn't. Tonight was one of the nights where she cut me off as I was placing my order through the drive-thru speaker. When I got to the window she ignored my choice of hot sauce and threw in whatever she wanted. This isn't the first time she performs her job like this by the way. This is the norm. Going forward I will try out other taco shops even if it means waiting in a longer drive-thru queue.

Be careful with this place, the food is decent but I think they intentionally over chargers customers hoping you won't notice. On more than one occasion we were over charged by like $15/$20. Tonight I luckily caught it. Ordered carne asada fries and two beef tacos and she told us $38, luckily I was paying attention and was like what??? And she corrected it to $23.
