I live in the neighborhood and have been eating at Burger Up since they opened. They used to be excellent. The restaurant has been through a lot over the years, but previously the quality of food held up. Unfortunately over the past year and a half or so, the food just keeps getting worse with every order. It's almost as if their heart just isn't in it anymore. The most recent burger, just wow. Two soggy bottoms for the bun. Meat that managed to be pink in the middle yet dry as a bone (almost like they are now using an inferior quality cut.) And toppings that even a fast food joint would have rejected. I think I'm done giving them chances. There are too many other much better choices.

Ambiance was excellent as was the service. Waiter was spot on. I had the Woodstock burger medium which was well done and a little salty. But it tasted very good. The iced tea was excellent. I would go back.

You have to check out the 12 South neighborhood when visiting Nashville! This is a beautiful street and shopping area full of great restaurants, bars, and boutiques. The area is much more relaxed than broadway with a quiet and quaint environment. I didn't see any live bands but there are plenty of bars and restaurants with music.

Ordered the French Onion Burger. It did not disappoint. Cooked medium. Onions, Brie, truffle oil. With Sweet potato fries. Hit the spot! Parking was a bit of a challenge. Service was impeccable. I would return and recommend.

A+ for this place. Servers were attentive, efficient and generally awesome. Was seated on a busy night no problems. Definitely barroom atmosphere- lots of mahogany but enough tables for family/ friends vibes. The burger was super good. Fries the same. Salt and flavor content and profiles just aligned. Ate every bite. Highly recommend.

Super chill! Really approachable spot in 12 South- I popped in for happy hour around 6 on a wednesday and there were some seats in the main area and bar still available. Happy Hour options are really good too! $5 house wine was a real winner - and their house white much actually be my new favorite wine. Service was great,quick and friendly.

Solid burger place but nothing to rave about. The meat and toppings in the burgers are good if you get a specialty burger but they do get messy fast and are on the smaller side. The quinoa burger is unique and pretty tasty. The buns are... meh. However, the fries and onion rings are great. If you go during happy hour there is a large selection of really good appetizers for great prices. I recommend the fry flight and the onion rings. The seating area is cute since you're right in 12 south and there is a lot of natural light, and there is a covered outdoor seating area as well (small though). I have been a few times and unfortunately the service is usually sub par. The hosts at the front are disinterested and it's almost awkward when you walk in because they don't greet you or prompt you to ask for a table. There are a lot of servers in the restaurant but they typically hang around the kitchen and don't check up on the table much.
