Excellent, unassuming and wonderful find. Approachable and friendly service. Exciting food with high quality presentation and a romantic cozy atmosphere. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes with beautiful presentation, and a wide range of adult beverages. I recommend the old fashion or margarita, and they are both available on the happy hour menu (in addition to a tasteful $10 burger). The strawberry rhubarb crumble dessert, I would recommend to everyone as well. In addition to the vibe and good food, there is not another restaurant like this near the nations, it is one of a kind and plenty of parking.

Friends and I decided to try Burger + Grain last night. I saw online that they had a 6:30 pm chef table reservation online, but couldn't find much information other than the website saying they offered chef table service on M-W (it being a Friday I was now more confused). I decided to give them a call, and someone answered, who I later learned was the GM. He clarified they website is not yet updated, but they have a chefs table nightly at 6:30 and it's the same standard menu/no set menu, but is closer to the kitchen and offers more of a personalized experience. I ended up booking the chefs table, as it sounded like a great experience. There is ample free parking in the area, which is almost unheard of these days. We were warmed greeted when we entered and shown to the table. We got to meet the kitchen manager (I cannot remember her actual title but she over sees the kitchen, does all the prep, and is all knowing about the menu/recipes!), we met the general manager, and we met our waitress for the night. The space itself is very welcoming. The style feels like cozy modern industrial, with rich green accents and grain decor. The kitchen is open concept, but the chefs tables are located closer to the kitchen than some of the other tables in the open concept space. Being at the chefs table we had a closer look, but also had each dish explained to us and some information about how it's made or what is used in the recipes - which I really liked! We also heard more about the concept and execution for the restaurant. All the food is made in house and scratch made (including salad dressings and sauces). They believe in a dining expirence that really emphases transparency - so the open kitchen and scratch cooking.I started with the Strawberry Royale to drink, which was well balanced. Not too sweet, but very easy to drink. Another friend had asked for assistance with a wine pairing and the other had the East meets West-nash - which she said drank very easy. For appetizer we share the bourbon braised short rib dumplings. The dumpling tasted fresh, had a lot of filling, and were paired with an amazing sauce. We all really enjoyed them, and so didnt snag a photo because I was too excited. For an entree I did the fish and chips, but asked to sub in the truffle pecorino fries (because I LOVE truffle). The fish was beer battered, dipped and fried to order, and featured mahi mahi. It was perfectly airy crispy, with a nice flakey fish inside. Seasoned well on its own, but the tater sauce was out of this world good - so I used that! It also had charred lemons and a perfume decanter of malt vinegar. The fries were a great balance of truffle and the cheese was wonderfully salty. I really enjoyed my entire meal. Friends each got salads (the strawberry and the steak) and then each ordered sides (truffle fries and onion rings). To finish it off we tried the dark chocolate crème brûlée. The top had such a nice crackle from the flambéed brown sugar, the dark chocolate custard was delicious, and the lightly macerated strawberries paired so well with the chocolate. My bill was $63ish before tip for 1/3 app, 1/2 dessert, a cocktail, and entree - which I say is a good value for the quality, experience, and the amount of food!Highly recommend Burger + Grain, and if you can book the chefs table!

I don't feel like I had the FULL experience in order to be able to give my complete opinion on this restaurant since we only tried one dish, but I can definitely speak on that dish and the general vibe. The inside is a nice, rustic modern with wooden tables, but casual enough to where I felt comfortable coming in with black sweatpants and a cute black top. We settled on trying the lobster tagliatelle, as this was highly recommended by a friend of mine. It was definitely a good dish, but not mindblowing. The activated charcoal pasta was so great- had an awesome mouthfeel and a nice thick, chew to it. The sauce, however, was sort of like an Alfredo, and so I was a bit bored by it, though don't get me wrong, it was still rich and good. The lobster pieces were delightful, but there just wasn't ENOUGH lobster. The lobster that was in it, though, had a great flavor. The dish also came with garlic bread, but it was sort of smashed, which was an interesting presentation of bread I hadn't seen before. Not my favorite, but not the worst. Overall, a good dish! (I think I just came in with too high of expectations.)I know my friend also RAVED about the braised short rib dumplings and the crispy artichoke hearts, so that is something I definitely want to come back for.

Burger + Grain did not disappoint when my wife & I had dinner here on a stormy Wednesday evening. I decided to checkout Burger + Grain because of a $30 off deal that I had courtesy of Offline creator & fellow Yelp Elite Brooklyn K. The place is moderately pricey so $30 off for dinner can go a long way & nearly negate a full entree or procure you two apps. First impressions were that the place is very tastefully decorated. Dim lighting, straight lines, open environment, granary as centerpieces, & with a very nice bar. It would be well suited for a date night, casual dinner, or fun night out with friends imho. Service was excellent as well. I'm not sure that it would suffer if it were a busy night either because all of the waitstaff were constantly moving through the dining area & collectively taking care of the guests. Our main server was very friendly & I let her pick my entree for me out of three I was considering & I'm confident she chose the best dish. The food was great. No complaints from my notoriously finicky wife. She went with the B&G burger & fries & I had the server chosen sous vide pork loin. We also tried the fried feta & short rib dumplings. As great as it all was the dumplings were a standout & I did not expect to get such good ones at an upscale burger joint. Also if you're a fan of pork (as am I) the sous vide pork loin is not to be missed. For dessert we went with the tiramisu which was perfectly executed with a touch of their own branding on the top. One of the better dining experiences in Nashville that I've had in recent memory. Looking forward to heading back & sampling some of their cocktails which I did not do this time.

We went here for lunch today and we both enjoyed it. The food was very good and the interior of the restaurant was modern and classy. Very nice. It is an open kitchen so you can see them preparing the food from the dining area. They have a huge selection of bourbon and alcoholic beverages from a full bar. It is a little bit above moderately priced. Although we went for lunch we looked at the dinner menu and it looked really good, so now I want to go here for dinner. There is plenty of free parking behind the building. The sevice was very good and the food came out in about 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I visited this restaurant shortly after it opened to celebrate my birthday. Given the name, I was a bit surprised to find only one burger on the menu. However, the décor, featuring bundles of wheat and other grains, complemented the restaurant's theme nicely. For dinner, I had the Berkshire Pork Loin. The pork was tender, and the peaches added a pleasant sweetness, but I found the grits to be just okay. My friends both ordered the burger and thought it was good, but not particularly impressive. As a birthday treat, they gave me a complimentary dessert, the tiramisu, which was light, fluffy, and delicious! Overall, it was a good experience, but not necessarily a place I'd rush to return to.

The name is a bit misleading. When I first saw it, I expected a higher end burger-specific restaurant... like Burger Republic or Burger Up. This isn't the case. There are actually only 2 burgers on the menu and 2 grain bowls. What is not advertised, is the fact that this is a full-fledged classy restaurant that's worthy for a special occasion. The atmosphere alone makes it seem like this restaurant is in the heart of downtown. On the menu, you'll find a nice range of shareable appetizers to satisfy varying palates. The main entrees are equally impressive, and the sides are large enough to share too. For those looking for alcohol, a nice variety of wines, signature cocktails, and beers take a full page on the back menu.Of the items ordered, it's hard to say which is my favorite because they were all very good. Glazed Pork Belly & Crispy Artichoke Hearts were the apps, followed by a 14oz Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip with Truffle Pecorino Fries and Roasted Taleggio Mushrooms. The Glazed Pork Belly was perfect balance of sweet from the maple syrup, slightly salty, and crispy. The Crispy Artichoke Hearts were lightly fried, tender halves of artichoke hearts accompanied by a lemony-garlic yogurt. The steak was SUPERB. Tender, the right amount of salt, and a rich beefy flavor. One thing to note is that the steaks are dry-aged in-house, which is not common in Nashville where there are as many steakhouses as transplants. It's also delivered sliced to you, which I thought is a nice touch. It's also smart because it allows them to check if the steak is cooked at the correct temperature. Too many times have I ordered steaks at fine dining restaurants only to having to send it back. The truffle fries had that signature truffle oil taste with shaved pecorino cheese on top. I really loved the roasted mushrooms. A variety of mushrooms, sauteed with shredded, tangy taleggio cheese. This restaurant is a GEM of a restaurant located right in the heart of The Nations. I'll definitely go back.

I had a great dinner experience here, I checked it out with Offline and got a discount. The ambiance inside is way more elevated than anticipated. I felt a bit underdressed but luckily was not there on a busy night.I was going to go for their classic BG burger, but was drawn to the French dip instead. I was reassured by not one but two staff members that it was delicious. And it was indeed. The portion was huge, but very yummy. I got to take half home for lunch the next day. I definitely had a great time and experience. I'll be back to try more from their delicious menu

Burger + Grain was so wonderful, and a great addition to the Nations! My husband and I were planning to go somewhere else for dinner on a Monday night, but that restaurant was closed so we decided to try Burger + Grain. Parking was free and easy (I parked behind the restaurant), which is a great start! The interior of the restaurant is beautiful! Seating is a combination of chairs and chair/booths, and I love a booth seat! We were seated right next to another group, and they were loud talkers, so it was a little difficult to have our own conversation. Service was excellent! We ordered the short rib dumplings as an appetizer and they were amazing! We both ordered the burger for dinner and it was a fantastic burger. Our food was well-paced, too - I appreciate a little bit of time between the appetizer and entrees. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!
