Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

My man and I were in Rosenberg to pick up his truck that had been repaired. I checked on my AroundMe app to see what restaurants were close by and then of course I would check my Yelp app to see if they got decent ratings. So this restaurant was less than a mile away and it received pretty good ratings. From the outside appearance, I'm not going to lie...I did have second doubts about checking it out. But we were hungry and I wanted to keep an open mind. There wasn't a hostess or a sign that read "Please seat yourself." So after standing around for awhile, we decided to seat ourselves. No one ever came to our table. My boyfriend had to go ask someone to wait on us. Not a good first impression to be honest.The chips and salsa were good. But spicy for this white girl. I decided to order the chimichanga and he ordered the #35 - Mexican Plate. It was supposed to have had a taco, chile con queso, tamale, 1 beef enchilada, 1 cheese enchilada, rice and beans. But it came with 2 beef enchiladas. He was disappointed about that because he really wanted to try the cheese enchilada. I don't know why he didn't just bring it up to the server. I would have!The chimichanga was 2 small chimichangas but I'm glad they did that so I can take the other one home to eat later. The rice and beans were pretty good too. My only complaints were that the food wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best. I prefer my food super hot. And the chimichangas could have been fried a little longer so they would have been crispier. But not bad at all. Overall, the food and service were good. And the prices were awesome! Very reasonable. I want to say it was $18 for 2 dinners and 1 soda (he had water). Unfortunately, we are rarely on this side of town but I'd come back if we were. I would have given them 3.5 stars if I could.

Holy moly. Food, service, and QUANTITY is top notch here. Nice servers, they checked in frequently. The food itself was delicious...note DO NOT eat a basket of chips before your food comes. Red salsa is def spicier than green but more addictive. The frozen/regular margarita were GREAT for the price. (happy hour half off) Lastly the amount of food for the price you pay is BEYOND. Def making this my regular spot for Mexican ! Excited to come back !!

Good breakfast but they never answer the damn phone to order and that's really annoying

First time for wife and I to eat here even after living here 10 years. We love Mexican food! Don't know why we never tried it out but we have been missing out! The prices our awesome here. Wife ordered Gorditas which took up the whole plate and I had the three cheese enchiladas. The rice and beans are terrific. No mistaken these are home made. Margaritas were strong as well! We will be back

Great authentic Mexican food. Reasonably priced entrees. The only knock is the service is hit or miss. Some of the servers do not speak fluent English. Overall it is worth a try.

Good prices for the portions! 1 meal usually can fill 1.5 people. Fajitas are always hot. Sometimes the rice or beans are not (I come usually not during peak times). Overall the place was clean and good environment to be in!

Server took awhile to bring us water and take our order(about 15 mins) I ordered fajitas for one. The tortillas were cold and very hard other then that the fajitas themselves were fantastic and came out sizzling. This place also has a bar and they have have happy hour deals Monday thru Thursday. Plan on coming back here at a much busier time!

I came to enjoy a birthday dinner . It's hot in here !!!!!! 78 degrees and you expect me to eat hot food . Managers refused to turn ac on . No wonder why prices are super low . Salsa taste like Rotel ..... it's watered down and horrible ! I would not recommend this place to anyone ......

I like soggy nachos said NO ONE EVER!Placed a to go order for my husband to pick up and specifically asked for everything to be put on the side so I would not have soggy nachos. Guess what I got? SOGGY NACHOS! The lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole, they left out the jalapeños on the side. The tortilla chips were piled with cheese sauce & salty ground beef. Called and Laura said that they wanted the order back to replace it. In the trash the food went and will not be going back and will never recommend to anyone. Sad cause being in a town where there is a Mexican restaurant in almost every corner, you would think that they would try to retain the business. Customer service at it's finest.
