Yum. Tex-Mex like we used to take for granted in Texas. Big portions and decent prices.

My tacos were phenomenal!!! We ordered to go and were given the food within 10 minutes. Inside was clean and fairly empty but well decorated- I love the yellow walls. The steak was well-seasoned and cooked to my taste, the chicken was palatable and tender (I am very picky with chicken), and the pastor was the winner as it was bursting with flavor and melted in my mouth. My only complaints: I wish I had gotten more and when I went to use my lime, I saw it had already been squeezed out. I did not taste any lime in my tacos, so I think I was simply given a used lime on accident. It was a bummer, as I love lime on my tacos. So for this reason alone I have to give 4 stars. Otherwise, I am eager to return.

For context, I went here on a Sunday double date and it really is the perfect type of environment for that. I got the chicken tostada and the steak taco. I would definitely come back and get the Tostado again because it was incredible. It's a really good deal because so many Mexican restaurants are making you pay extra for rice and beans lately and this place is very affordable. Great service and overall dinner or lunch spot with complimentary chips!

I got the Enchiladas Mix (suiza, verde, and mole), and it was very good! I got the beef, and I should have gotten the chicken. My order was ready very quickly, and the staff was very friendly!!

Is trying to eat at all the Mexican places in Chicago doable? I think it's a hard thing to complete. So let me get into it! The food at Buena Vista Restaurant was surprisingly good! My friend and I got the nachos as I have to say it's was great. The temperature and the freshness of the dish made you want to have another plate of it. I got the three taco dinner and I was happy that I got that since I normally get it at other places. The services was as expected as it is a small finally owned business so we had to be patient which isn't a problem for me at all. The atmosphere was like you were back in time. It's refreshing since not many places are like that. I like retro places and to me it felt like back in the day. Overall, I will say give BVR a try if you want authentic food with a charming wait staff.

Pretty solid Mexican spot in Lake View. I got the mixed cheese enchiladas with beans and rice & everything was tasty. My personal favorite was the mole enchilada. The service was quick & the workers were friendly. However, I am knocking off one star because, while the flavor was good, the verde and suiza enchiladas could have used more sauce. I like my enchiladas drenched in sauce!!

Casual and homey neighborhood spot for some tasty Mexican eats at reasonable prices. I recently moved from Los Angeles to Chicago and was a bit worried that I would struggle to find some good Mexican food in my new neighborhood. I worried for nothing, because Buena Vista is muy bien. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Good portions and good service added to the overall experience and I'll certainly be back soon!

This is my husband's go-to for good Mexican food, and as he's a transplanted Los Angeleno, he's picky!It's a lovely little family-run joint, which means sometimes they do close for a week or two for vacations, but it's small price to pay for having a real family business in the area. The prices have gone up more than seems reasonable, so he doesn't go as often anymore, but the weekday lunch special is a good deal, and again, the food really is terrific. Warm and welcoming people as well.

Our family is from Texas, and we found that Buena Vista satisfies our Mexican food cravings. The mini chimichangas were the perfect appetizer. We liked the taco dinner, the mole, the full size chimichanga, chicken enchiladas, nachos, rice, beans, & flan. We may have been more than once They are fast and friendly. BYOB, bring your appetite,'and have some dessert. Or carry out and have dessert.

Had to come back to write another amazing review for this place. My fiancé and I took my mom for her first time here - she thought it was delicious. I got the chicken fajitas for the first time (I usually get the taco and tostada) and the fajitas were literally the best I have ever, ever had. Incredible. This place is amazing!!
