Very unassuming from the outside and almost passed it right by. Portions are huge! We left wondering if it was supposed to be Family Style. The Antipasto was massive and the non-beet/cauliflower/veg eaters wished the plating kept the components separated so it's easier to spot & avoid in the low lighting. Garlic bread had a nice little charred bits and good flavor, and next time we plan to get a side of dipping sauce. Tortellini was OK. Way too much for a person to savor and enjoy but I understand some folks prefer the quantity. It provided me lunch for 3 days. The Bucatini Teresa with prawns hit the spot for the teen but she couldn't finish 1/2 of it. She loved the flavors commented on the unique way her prawns were cut, saying it was cute. Maiale Saltimbocca had great flavor but the very well cooked veggies hiding under all the sauce made it difficult for my partner to enjoy. Some of his veg was too mushy for my taste even though I'm very veg forward lol.The interior is cozy with low lighting with vintage furniture/Euro styling which charmed the pants off of our teen who is into cottage core at the moment. She loved the lavender candle in the bathroom as well. Our server was pleasant and offered a birthday treat to the teen but we were so full! We ordered everything not realizing the portion size so you can imagine our takeaway boxes weighed a ton. Our server also gave us some tips on reheating our pastas at home. Added some cream to my tortellini in a pan and it rehydrated my pasta sauce perfectly.

Lunch anyone? My dinners here have been memorable but Mama Mia there lunch kills it.Stop spending $40 for 2 and eat mediocre food like subway, etc. come here and get a Grinder made with love and fresh Grand Central Bakery Sourdough bread, mine (It's called a Joe Pesci) came with Tuna fish, capers, cherry tomatoes, etc. Tons of flavor and it measured a foot long and over 3" high. You had to figure out how to eat it as it was so large. The picture doesn't show you how excellent this grinder was and I look forward to coming back to try the other sandwich's.

It would be 5 stars, except for my entree. Great atmosphere and very crowded on a Saturday evening, even early. The garlic bread is the best! The ceasar was fine, needed more dressing. Was really only half dressed. Great croutons. My other had the swordfish. The fish itself was well made, and the sauce was zippy. The accompanying veg were sauce slogged and overcooked. My beef and broccoli in gorgonzola sauce was very disappointing. Sauce had zero gorgonzola flavor. Just cream. The meat was really chewy and the broccoli overcooked and soggy. Friends had the mixed seafood with squid ink pasta - beautiful and generous serving. Another had the manicotti with a very tender giant meatball. We enjoyed the spumoni.

SLAPPER ALERT. This place absolutely slaps. The irony is that I'm on season 6 of the sopranos and fairly adept with my Italian food lingo. I came here after watching an episode so I had to get the grinder with the Capicola. The mortadella melted with the gabagool was nuts. They carve out the bread in the sandwhich for extra packing. The bread is so crisp too. The restaurant is very authentic inside as well. You feel that this place has been family run for decades (which it most likely is). Service is grade A. Make sure you hit this place up for authentic Italian cuisine!

I really like this restaurant as a whole but I'm a little conflicted about the food. The interior is extremely cozy, the portions are massive, and the desserts are fantastic. I can best describe the style of the food here as Italian soul food: generous helpings, loads of rich sauce, all covered in cheese. Many Italian places serve their pasta dry and under sauced so this is a welcome change. However, they may have gone *too* far in the other direction. The pastas are extremely rich and heavy and really would benefit from some extra acidity from peppers or tomatoes to balance the palate. If this style is to your liking then this is the perfect restaurant for you. I will try a non cream based menu item next time and update my opinion.

Bucatini is easily one of the top gems in Edmonds. Tremendous portion sizes, fantastic taste, nice ambiance, and more. They throw in one Spicchi candy per person at the end, which is a nice gesture. A sweet to end off with and the tastes are all slightly sour due to the citrus flavors, just another twist to the afternoon or evening. Garlic Bread - quite possibly the best garlic bread I've ever had. Slightly burnt corners make up the perfectly toasted bread that's crunchy yet somehow soft in the center. Flavor is present at every bite, not just the center. The garlic is strong and the butter is spread just right while not being overly greasy or anything.Bucatini with Meatballs - two gigantic meatballs that can easily be split into four regular sized meatballs paired with a hefty amount of bucatini leads to a full stomach and happy taste buds. The meatballs were tender and flavorful. Bucatini was a perfect al dente. Perfect amount of sauce with the pasta leaves very little for the garlic bread, which is great because the garlic bread deserves to be enjoyed by itself. Pappardelle Alfredo - fresh egg noodles, wide, and tender to the bite. This entree is related to the famous fettuccini alfredo since pappardelle isn't as widely available. Same exact expectations, but high quality here at Bucatini. The pappardelle isn't important in an alfredo dish since the width of the noodles aren't necessary, but they're delicious nonetheless. If you want the genuine pappardelle experience, get the bolognese so the wide noodles can hold on to more meat sauce.

Absolutely love the atmosphere, and the few things I've had are delicious. I would give this 5 stars IF there were more vegetarian and vegan options. I can eat only two entrees here (and both have cheese, so not great with my lactose intolerance).

First time coming to Bucatini. The ambience is of a cozy trattoria, lots of details and decor. I didn't see a changing table in the restroom, please consider adding one :). The servers were extremely nice and gave us wonderful suggestions. The tiramisu was THE BOMB. We'd come back just for that. Everything tasted delicious, though. Totally recommended!
