For a long time I've had two things I use to judge a Mexican restaurant: salsa and refried beans. I always figured if they did these two basics well, they were paying attention and I could move on to more complex menu items. Well, these guys did great. The salsa was excellent and the beans were good as well. While basic, my bean and cheese burrito was very satisfying. Service was good. While the cashier was really timid (new?) the rest of the staff was really helpful and nice. I enjoyed the place but it's fairly simple. Nothing fancy but it doesn't need to be. Maybe a little dark. I look forward to going back to try other items.

During my brief visit to San Diego, I ended up stopping by Brother's Mexican Restaurant twice. The first time, I tried out their California burrito and the second time, I had tacos at their outdoor taco station after a long night of bar hopping. The ratio of fries to non-fries in their California burrito is pretty good. Asada is tender and there's just the right amount of guac inside to make each bite not too dry. For tacos, the adobada is the way to go. At $3.50 each, I felt like each taco was a steal.I would stop by again for late night tacos but I think there are likely better spots around if you're willing to travel a little bit farther from North Park.

I had one simple request. Add sour cream to my breakfast burrito. I said it twice over the phone and the person even wrote it on the burrito. There was no sour cream. Two breakfast burritos for $27. It's crazy expensive. Their salsas were delicious tho!

Food: The chips and salsa were really good! Loved the salsa!!!! Sadly, when we asked for more, the waitress/hostess had an attitude (she didn't replyn just walked away). She brought back a half-full container for the FOUR of us (see photo).Other than the good chips and salsa, everything else was "not-too-good" to "mediocre." We had the Chicken Chimichanga (the guacamole was very runny and had a weird taste, but the chicken was well‐cooked-just needed more flavor); the Breakfast Burrito (bland); and the Mini Chicken Taco (bland). The Mango Margarita tasted like pure, thick syrup without any liquor. I don't even like a strong drink, but this was very weak...even for someone like me. Still, I paid for the drink but left it on the table (full). Oh, the Horchata was pretty good, but it was VERY SWEET.Service: Not good. From the moment we walked into the small, EMPTY, quaint establishment, I felt unwelcome. The hostess literally just stared at us without saying a word. So, I asked, "Do we sit anywhere?" She nodded. I requested water multiple times, as my children were coughing terribly due to the spice of the salsa (which, again, I loved). We were the only patrons initially. My last time asking for water, I asked in Spanish. With an attitude, she said, "I understood before," as she proceeded to make our other drinks (Horchata and Margarita). I explained that my children really needed the water due to the spice of the salsa. She said, "I'll get it after I make the drinks."She brought out the drinks and later the food, but still, NO WATER. I also requested lids multiple times.Needless to say, I won't ever return...even if the food were amazing, I wouldn't come back!

I love brothers! Their food is so good and their service is even better. The vibe is very family oriented and I love that. For Mexican food in this area, I think brothers is the best.

It's a nice shop located in North Park, I usually walk here if I crave Mexican food and I don't feel like driving. Everyone who works here are very kind and helpful. Some days or weekends, they would bring out their grill and make street tacos and bacon wrapped hot dogs. The best food to eat when I am walking around drinking in North Park. Their shop offer a selection of beers on tap, a couple of mixed drinks and a huge selection of food. I love their combo plates that offer rice, beans, cheese enchilada, and chile relleno. It's very filling and tasty which I had for dinner. I also recommend their breakfast burrito that has, eggs, potatoes and bacon with their red and green hot sauce. It hits the spot for an early morning craving. When they have their grill out all their street taco selection is very delicious and you can't go wrong with their bacon wrapped hotdog. Ambiance wise, it's a nice clean place to enjoy my food, it's family friendly and they are very accommodating.

This is the kind of place that hits the spot after a long day, or fuels a late-night conversation lubricated with potent margaritas and Mexican beer. Or can help cure a hangover from the night before. They've got that consistency down pat, every dish a reliable punch to the tastebuds. Don't be fooled by the facade - inside there's enough room to seat a crew or disappear into a solo corner. This isn't the place for tourists seeking ambiance, this is the real deal for those who prioritize flavor over frills.

Was craving for a good burrito and it was perfect because it's located to my favorite coffee shop Saigon coffee! Decided to try it out got their brothers burrito which is basically a surf and turf burrito. Oh my god it was so good the rice and meat is perfectly seasoned. The chips was delicious and the salsas as well. I wanna come back and try their drinks. Everything was pretty affordable. Service was good as well the lady she was by herself and got a little busy but still had a positive attitude. Cute little spot for sure to just have a simple delicious Mexican food.

Carne asada nachos. Classic Sunday night entree to finish off the weekend. Excellent serving size. Beans on top of chips are the way they are served, I like em.Standard carne asada seasoning, delicious and sufficient guacamole. Red salsa compliments the dish perfectly. Excellent service, quick to get food.
