I was invited to gals day out brunch- there were a total of 6 ladies. Being as this restaurant is located in downtown La Jolla and RIGHT on the water, the parking is awful so make sure you plan ahead! Due to this, our party arrived in bunches. The hostess will not seat you unless your whole party is present, please keep this in mind. We were sat outside on a cute picnic bench style so we were all able to chat to each other. La Jolla has a bit of a marine layer in June- bring a light sweater! The brunch was fresh and light- we HAD to share a famous Classic Coast Toast!.Lovely experience had by all.

Love Brockton Villa! The firm I work with had an exceptional company dinner here. From the very beginning, their Assistant General Manager Daniel was an absolute pleasure to work with. Daniel and his team went above and beyond in ensuring that we all had an amazing time (there were 33 of us in total, so it was a decent-sized crowd) and that the dinner went beautifully. They were super responsive, detail oriented, kind and professional all throughout. Service aside, the food was delicious! There is no limit to how much Coast Toast I can consume :)This spot is such a gem. Whether it's for an official event or just a nice dinner or brunch out, Brockton Villa is a spectacular choice that we are so lucky to have here in San Diego. Thank you Daniel & team for the wonderful evening!

I had mixed emotions reserving a table for two after reading some of the YELP reviews, but my husband and I decided to trust our instinct and do it anyway and I'm glad we did! We went today at 12pm and were immediately greeted by a pretty and upbeat hostess at the front, she was made aware we had reservations and she immediately checked us in and made sure our table was cleaned before sitting us down. She asked if we preferred to sit down at the veranda part of the patio which was pretty darn nice (excellent recommendation, btw). I think we had the best seats in the house!!!!Faustino "TINO" our server was so ATTENTIVE, he acknowledged us right away, took our beverage order and tookOur food order after he brought our beverages. SERVICE WAS FAST, our pineapple margarita was on point...our food came out freshly made and tasted delicious! GRACIAS Tino! 100%. We will surely come again! Some reviewers had something to say about the Seals...but....don't sweat the small stuff and make the best of it. We are on the coast and have to share their territory :)

We came here because of the happy hour specials and online it said they had the best view. The view was fantastic, but what I didn't realize until we go there was it's right across from where the seals lay and it was beyond smelly. We were running out of options though for happy hour, so we decided to stay for a drink. The food didn't look great so we only got 2 drinks. I had the pineapple margarita which tasted great, but mainly because it was a very weak drinks. The restaurant and restrooms were very run down and overall didn't feel overly clean. While we appreciated the view, we won't be back.

Brockton Villa is a hole-in-the-wall brunch spot in La Jolla cove off of Coast Boulevard. Coming into this spot, I had high expectations due to the various great brunch spots in La Jolla but in comparison to those places, Brockton Villa falls well below those expectations. Service-wise, it was alright. Upon walking in, there wasn't anyone in the front and it took a while for someone to notice my girlfriend and I waiting for a table. Once we were seated, service was faster but it was obvious that they were a bit understaffed so I can't really blame them. Moving onto the food, my girlfriend and I got the crab chowder (not pictured), chilaquiles, and the banana fosters french toast. The crab chowder was quite obviously thrown in a bowl and microwaved. The chowder had different spots in the bowl where it would be boiling hot or just room temperature. The flavor was there but it wasn't very fresh. The chilaquiles were a disappointment as well. The chips were extremely soggy upon arrival and the salsa didn't have that much flavor to it. The pulled pork that came with it was extremely dry to the point where it just wasn't enjoyable. The banana fosters french toast really saved the day. They made this dish extremely well with a well-balanced banana syrup and a crisp, yet soft french toast. If you were to get anything here, I recommend this dish.Overall, Brockton Villa is in a location with lots of competition when it comes to brunch and this place just doesn't live up to that standard. The view is nice and all, but I'd rather sacrifice the view to get much better food elsewhere.

We found this place accidentally and I am so excited about it. It's an old place with a high cliff ocean view- wonderful food and wonderful staff. I cannot wait to come back. It was my first time to La Jolla and we got hungry and I wanted something good- I was walking and seen this gem. I called using Yelp just to see if I could get in. I know places like this always, usually need a reservation. And as luck would have it the lady on the phone was so kind and said actually we don't have a wait at the moment and you can come on in if you're within like a 1min walk I said absolutely I'll be right there. The food was fresh and my kids liked it too. The dessert was yummy too! One of my daughters got the red pasta, the other daughter got the white pasta that hubby got a burger. I got a grilled cheese...(I know I'm boring)...but the grilled cheese came with the most delicious mashed potatoes and I'm telling you I'm not an easy mashed potato lover. I am very picky about my potatoes! We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert and the bananas foster. I don't have pictures of the dessert because I went to use the bathroom and when I came back, both of them were eaten into lol ...Oh my gosh, lunch not too heavy just what we needed. The view is spectacular and the staff was really good and nice and prompt. I definitely want to come back here with my husband for dinner and really just sit and enjoy the view and have a glass of wine. We will definitely come back highly recommend.

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Parking can be rough but we found street parking. When we arrived we were seated immediately. There are plenty of tables both inside and outside and we were seated indoors, which was nice as there's a distinct smell from the sea. It was a bit busy, but our server attended to us very quickly. I ordered the sweet and savory coast toast, and my husband got the cove combo. The food came out quite quickly to our surprise and upon first glance, the portions looked great. There's a reason they're famous for the coast toast and wow, do not pass up on it. The texture is like a soufflé and the flavors of the sweet and savory toast were divine. My husband enjoyed his breakfast but the toast was all we could think about after. I would 100% recommend this spot for a nice brunch with a view!

We came here for breakfast and yes you must make reservations because it's a popular restaurant. The restaurant sits across the street from the La Jolla Cove and The Cave Store. The seating is tight because the restaurant isn't very big. There is outdoor patio seating and indoor seating. There is only one gender neutral restroom so a line forms easily. The food was typical breakfast food. I didn't see anything special other the beautiful views and the location of the restaurant.

We came here for brunch right when it opened. There's no wait for the indoor seating. We ordered banana foster French toast, braised beef egg Benedicts and chilaquiles. They were great especially banana foster French toast. The view was great. We preferred the indoor seating as it wasn't too smelly with the sea lions near by.

What an adorable little brunch spot. elEven though we were there at night the restaurant is a typical breakfast/brunch spot with stellar views of La jolla and the ocean. We were able to try the espresso martini and the classic coast toast which is a soufflé type french toast. I've never had an espresso martini however it was dangerously good. The coast toast wasn't a hit for me. It was really wet and gooey inside and that texture throws me off. I was able to try the homemade berry jam and it was excellent.
