What.A.Weird.Vibe. First - the good. The food was OK, but wowza on the price points. The crudo was fresh and nicely plated ($20), and the halibut was cooked perfectly. I looked at a review from January 2024 and the halibut was priced at $38. It's now $42 (up 10% in a month!), PLUS there is the 5% service charge that goes straight to the restaurant so they can "cover costs". They are upfront about it (on the website and menu) - so we knew going in, but still - it's getting tough out there if you cannot cover your costs with $42 entrees. The $20 appetizer portion of manila clams was a nice size, but the clams were really overcooked and chewy. The "meh": It's a cocktail-forward restaurant with a wine club, so we were pretty surprised at the very short wine by the glass list (only 3 whites and 3 reds!) From a service perspective, one of our party was the designated driver, and even after he told the server, they were still trying to get him to try wine. Come ON! The wine list for bottles is extensive, but again - wowza on the markups. Also - and I think this was due to our table location (see more below)...our drinks came out AFTER the appetizers arrived, which is a pet peeve of mine. The server pushes additional dishes (really leaning hard on ordering more bread - which then was delivered halfway thru the meal). The truly weird: 1) I made a reservation. The reservation service (Resy) AND the restaurant confirmed with me SEVEN TIMES. I realize much of this is just automated, but it was getting annoying. THEN, we show up, and the reservation is different than what we had confirmed SEVEN TIMES - and they made is seem like I had changed it and that THEY were accomodating US. 2) Then they led our party through the fun, front part of the restaurant, thru the back part of the restaurant, and to a separate builidng in the "way back" that was almost silent. We literally could not have been seated farther from the kitchen, bar or anywhere there was anything lively going on. Every party in this room was just staring at each other or murmmering. The server kept asking if we were having fun. No - obviously not, there was not a lot of fun happening in that room. What an awkward question! When we left, we walked thru the restaurant again on the way out, and the front of the house was lively and fun - a totally different scene than the back. We will not be back and would not recommend given our experience.

I read of Brimmer & Heeltap several times in Seattle Met's top 100 restaurants in the Seattle area. I finally made the effort to go, which is hidden in the Ballard suburbs away from the main stretch. Parking is street only, so plan ahead to circle around and around a bit. The restaurant is a dimly lit with a rustic-dine-at-home vibe. Get out your phone to read the menu. LOL. Our server is expedient; our water was refilled in a timely manner. Their food is new American. They are currently serving dinner only. The prices are on the higher side, but I knew it going it, so it wasn't surprising. The Food:Beef Shank, $38 - 5 StarsMenu: glazed carrot, cippolini onion, mushroom, pastry crustThis dish is melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. That beef is genuinely that good. It looks beautiful, too.Halibut, $38 - 5 StarsMenu: eggplant, red pepper, charred onion, smoked jalapenoIt is super easy to overcook a halibut. They did not! It was impeccably flaky. It tasted amazing in the sauce. The eggplant is cooked just right in a complimentary flavorful sauce that I can't place the exact flavors. Whatever it is, it's delicious.Duck Breast, $38 - 3 StarsMenu: cranberry, roasted parsnip, cippolini onion, arugulaThe duck breast arrived undercooked. It was such a rookie mistake that it is disappointing. As soon as I waved a server over and mentioned it, she immediately agreed with my assessment and took it away to recook. After that, the dish is very good. My included photo is the undercooked version.

It's overpriced. I been here second time and felt disappointed. Pork is dried, and bitter (I think it's due to some charr. Miso cod doesn't has caramelizd skin I am looking for. Cocktails is $20 but taste too watery. I spend $230 for two people and wouldn't recommend to friends.

Brimmer and Heeltap was such a pleasure to visit! I came here with a reservation for 3 at 7pm on a Saturday. I was able to share all my dishes so I tried a lot! I had the tagliatelle, the cauliflower, the tomato salad, the bread, and the baby gem salad. I would say my favorite was the tagliatelle, because I'm a sucker for pasta. But everything was delicious so it was a very close competition! The bread was my favorite appetizer, as it was crispy on the outside but oozing with butter on the inside. It was great to use to soak up the sauces from the other dishes. Definitely recommend getting it. The tomato salad and baby gem salads were so fresh and light - the perfect salads for summer. Service was great and our waitress was so kind and helpful. Looking forward to coming back!

Highly enjoyed the experience and food at Brimmer & Heeltap yesterday. We had the burrata with chorizo, clams, the marinated beets, rye agnolotti with ricotta and butternut squash, and the cavatellilamb ragu. The butternut squash agnolotti and the lamb ragu cavatelli were absolutely mouth-watering - highly recommend! Everything else was great as well, but the pasta was the star of the show. The staff even wrote a card for our friend who was celebrating her birthday. If you're looking for great service, good food, and good ambiance this is the place.

Great espresso & pastries in the morning in a lovely small garden setting, dinner & drinks at night. What more could you want?

Perfect neighborhood date night spot. Romantic and cute vibe, and friendly staff. We ordered the Dungeness crab sope (honestly one of the best things I've had in a while), the bread (which pissed us off-- ask for a serrated knife), and the duck breast (tasty as hell but small). Overall, a good ol' time. Thanks, y'all!

Amazing food and amazing service! I still get hungry thinking about the food I had a Brimmer & Heeltap. They're also well known for their drinks so definitely try some of their cocktails. The waitress was knowledgeable and gave good suggestions for what to order. Everything was amazing, especially the Butternut Squash Soup and Braided Cabbage (must try's!) and the bread is also so tasty and buttery. It's a great app to get to soak up the remaining sauces left from the dishes. I would skip out on the Onion veggie dip next time as it wasn't anything too special compared to the other menu items. The price point is reasonable but it isn't cheap or a bang-for-your-buck restaurant by any means. Would go again!

Amazing food but they really need to close that separate back room, at least for dinner service. Was so incredibly awkward, quiet, and service was awful when you're sitting in this room isolated from the entire bar, restaurant, and staff. Actually kind of crazy that they think it's a good idea to seat people back here. For food, the bread, hamachi crudo, beef tenderloin, and duck were fantastic. 5 stars for the food alone. Drinks were pretty good too. Will definitely come back only if sitting in the main restaurant though.

We came for dinner yet the happy oysters werent that good. The beef tenderloin was a decent portion but the duck breast and black cod was a waste of money. We had to drive to kidds valley cause my husband was super hungry after. I can definitely say they have good bread yet it cost $8 i wish these "fancy" restaurants would make their portions a bit bigger for paying 30-50 dollars for the mains
