Breakfast Republic

My friend and I had breakfast here today and enjoyed it. I wanted to go there because they have a few vegan entrees! I ordered the Jammin' Bennie with coffee and my friend had the Avocado Toast. I never had anything like the Jammin' Bennie before and wanted to take a chance on it. I'm glad I did! The portion was generous; I couldn't finish it. It's a shame, too, because I doubted it would've been good to reheat and eat later. Both entrees looked really nice when they were served! I wish I'd taken a pic of them.My entree came with a side of potatoes and they were delicious!! My friend tasted them and agreed. If I can share the Jammin' Bennie with someone, I might order it, again, but I'll ask they omit the line of parsley sauce. It was ok, but I liked the bites without it more. The house coffee was good. I asked for soy milk (they had the Califia brand -- yes!), but they charged me for it without mentioning it'd be extra. It wasn't a lot, but I should've been told. At least they give free coffee refills!We got there around 9:30 a.m. and were seated immediately. The decor was appealing (don't really know how to describe it). And our server was speedy and quite nice. It was a tad noisy indoors; I didn't care for that. My friend and I could still hear one another while we chatted, though.

Stopped by here with a friend. They have quick service...they told me 20-25 minutes and literally text me in 10! This was good and bad (I was in Trader Joe's and had to quickly exit too back. We arrived back and were quickly seated. Service was friendly and efficient. Our server came over right away and took our order. I sat and caught up with my friend as we waited. The ambiance of the place is nice and casual and they have indoor and outdoor dining areas. We told the hostess we would sit anywhere, so we got indoors. The food was okay. The best part of my dish was the sausage. I got the American breakfast with three eggs over hard (yay! They did them not runny--so many places do not get this right but they did!) and home fries. The home fries were the saddest part of my meal. The sour dough toast was good with my meal. The ketchup (not the typical Heinz) was bizarre tasting, as the least. Overall, I may come back here. But I think I will try lunch.

During our recent trip to San Diego, my husband and I had a delightful breakfast at Breakfast Republic. I chose the American breakfast with a strawberry cheesecake pancake instead of toast, which was a sweet and indulgent treat. My husband enjoyed his turkey meatloaf with pesto and scrambled eggs. The service was quick and friendly, with our waiter offering helpful local sightseeing tips. The restaurant's charming atmosphere added to our enjoyment, especially the egg-shaped salt and pepper shakers and their special ketchup sauce. While the potatoes were a bit firmer than I prefer, the overall flavor of the meal was excellent. Breakfast Republic is a fantastic spot for a tasty breakfast with great service and a unique ambiance. We'll definitely return on our next visit to San Diego!

Great server but bad food. Horrible old cold tasing potatoes. Had to send the Benedict back because eggs were overcooked badly. I been here and another location in mission valley was just as bad. I do not recommend .

I used to love this place, and while I still love the location, and the atmosphere of this place, the quality of the food has gone way down the last 2 times we visited, the food was overcooked, dry, burnt, and not worth the $100 we dropped for breakfast. Until I know for sure they have upped their game back to their former quality, I won't be returning nor recommending Breakfast Republic

Came here around 2pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy. We forgot Breakfast Republics are only open to the afternoon.Ordered a Ube Latte which did have an ube taste and was not very sweet. It comes iced. I enjoyed it and would order it again.We also ordered the Banana Split French Toast which was very sweet as it came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it. Would definitely want to share a savory dish with someone when getting this. It had two slices of French toast and an entire banana all drizzled with chocolate.Also ordered the Bacon Mac & Cheese which was gloriously buttery with crisp bits of panko bread crumbs dusting the top. The browned butter undertone really made this dish pop. The bacon bits were really generous. Would recommend this dish!We were served by Jasmine C who checked on us often to refill hubby's Strawberry Lemonade and other needs. When I realized the restaurant had closed and apologized, she said we could take our time. I asked for bill and boxes anyway, and she saw we were still eating, so I could tell she deliberately took her time getting the bill to allow us to finish eating. How kind!Thanks for the wonderful brunch experience. I would highly recommend this location to others.

Carmel salted latte was super good iced. Cinnamon roll pancakes never disappoint. Sat at the bar since it was crowded and that ended up being perfect. Would recommend for a nice brunch.

This was the worst food I've ever tasted. I debated whether to complain, but ended up sucking it up and paid the bill instead. The mocha was gross and left a horrible after taste. My son even confirmed this. My scramble was cold and the house potatoes thumped like rocks. I opted to sit outside because it was a nice morning. There was an industrial fan above my chair that blew my hair all around, which if I didn't pull it up would of been in my food...though my hair probably would've tasted better than the food. Good Luck if you dare to try this Breakfast Republic.

Took a chance this time and ordered outside of my French toast comfort! Got an egg Benedict! The sauce on there was delicious and it came with some of their yummy potatoes so it was perfect. Good size portions. Service was outstanding...host, waitress and runner. They all stayed on top of our table. Thanks for a great Saturday morning breakfast! Btw we were there at 8am so no wait and seated immediately!

Really good breakfast spot! We headed down to San Diego for my girlfriends bday and decided to stop here. I got the shrimp and bacon (I know it sounds weird but trust me!) combo and my girlfriend got the California burrito. The food itself was very good and the portion sizes are enormous and will leave you very satisfied. The server always came to check on us and she was very nice and always refilled our water! The ambiance was nice too. The place feels very lively and has some cool plants inside. I'd come back for sure. 4.5/5
