I grew up in the area but have since moved to NY. We ventured out of our usual go-to spots when we are in town and came out here for a date night. We wished we could've tried everything but was so happy with our choices! Everything didn't disappoint. The escabeche was not expected so I'm glad I asked our waitress how it was prepared. It was packed with the natural flavors of the seafood with a spicy kick to it. The beets and crudo were great starters, light and packed with flavor! The staff were attentive and so great! We would definitely come back another time.

Enjoyed the spicy chicken and waffle, which was pretty good at best, but not as raveworthy as I had hoped from previous reviews. The waffle was very soft, and I wish it had more crisp to it. It really just became a soggy/flat piece of moist bread at the end. The spicy sauce was delicious. The doughnuts, which looked SO amazing, were rather dense, unfortunately, and cloyingly sweet, so I would skip. We had the hojicha and passion fruit flavors. Neither of us could finish more than a third of the doughnut. My vegetarian friend enjoyed her pupusa and cleaned up her plate. Vibes were cute and plentiful street parking out front.

Small plates:beets - 4/5 subtle flavor, nice textures with the crunchy topping and creamy sauce dry aged beef marmalade - 4/5 cracker that comes with it a bit too crunchy and thinduck breast over charcoal - 4.1/5 nice breadth of flavor from savory to sweet fluke ceviche - 3.8/5 very spicy, maybe too spicy dessert:frank's flan - 3/5 standard flan, nothing specialdrinks:meguro #1 - 3.2/5 dead ramones - 3.3/5Nice place for dinner dates or eating with friends and family. Small, lively space. There isn't much seating for larger groups from what I could tell. I enjoyed this place for its small sharable plates and the creativity that goes into each plate for unique flavor combinations. Having said that, there wasn't anything that really stood out to me this time around.Service was great. Very polite staff that was helpful in providing details on dishes. They were out of quite a few items when I went for a later dinner, but the staff kindly communicated these details to us.Parking can be a bit tricky. There are a few street parking spots just outside the restaurant. Outside of that, you may have to walk a bit further to find a spot.

I ordered papusa and chilaquiles. They were both filling and delicious meals. The staff were very friendly and they recommended the brown butter donut which did not disappoint. I recommend making reservations instead of walking in unless you're the first one there. The ambiance was cute and cozy and family friendly.

Went here for brunch for the first time. It's small but definitely feels very warm and cozy as soon as you enter inside. And loud because it's busy - clearly a very popular place.I ordered the omelette which had lots of arugula and that wasn't really my favorite. I would have liked onions or tomatoes. It came with hollandaise sauce and that combination again was not my thing. It was a bit too salty as well. The freshly made sourdough bread was good - very greasy and again had the salty thing going on and I would have liked jam or some spread to add to the toast. The hubs ordered French toast of which I tried one bite and thought was pretty good. He thought it was okay. The apple butter, caramel and streusel wasn't his thing. The maple umeboshi latte was really good, very creamy, rich, foamy delicious!Friends ordered the biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles and duck chorizo dishes - all of which looked great and they seemed to enjoy.I'm only giving this three stars because my food was just not to my liking this time. I'll be willing for sure to return and try their dinner which I hear is small plates with a rotating menu.I like that they're conscientious about paying their staff fair wages and adding fees to the bill. No need for additional calculations for tip although be prepared for that slightly higher bill.Service was friendly. We Ubered there so not sure of parking but there's probably street parking around. There's fun art on the walls everywhere adding to the atmosphere. Will return to try other dishes and dinner!

Weekday dinner with reservation:Overdue to check out this place. Fave restaurant for some of my friends. And it did not disappoint! I had the fried chicken (yum), Brussels (this was basically crack), beets (love beets and loved these beets), and the donut dessert (SOOOO good). Great cocktails. Staff is so cool. We loved our waiter Evan.

Who needs to go to Spain for fancy 5 plus star restaurants when they can come to Brassica???? The food and cocktails were amazing!! I sorta knew the tuna was delicious (and it was) and that the beet salad was a must have - the beets were marinated in something but not sure what? - because they were flavor bombs :)) The biggest surprise was the flan - beyond delicious - save room!! It was magnificent. Josh was our waiter and his attention was pluperfect and Anna as the general manager couldn't have been more gracious. A winning night all round.

I had to chase down the server to pay. what did she care - the 23% tip was mandatory. the chicken and waffles wasn't good: chicken had so much fat running through it that I left half of it. waffles were soggy. Never again.
