"Heck yeah this place was delicious. We had a big group and did the prix fixe; small plates kept coming out! Faves were grilled octopus, meatballs, cheese plate, spinach. Cocktails were also standouts.Service was prompt, they missed a few drinks now and again but the place was slammed so I get it. Love the energy of this place. Will be back next time I'm in the area!"
"We came by for our 530pm reservation. The place is in a large very busy shopping center type area. There is a parking facility attached but we chose to take our chances parking in the open lot closer to the restaurant. We got lucky and nabbed a spot. It was extremely busy and crowded on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly and the table was set for a birthday - mine. Our daughter and son in law are hosting and our new grandson is with us. He slept through the whole meal. Our server came by and explained the specials and various dishes. The table was decked out with stars and a nice acknowledgement of my birthday. We got cocktails and they were perfect and as ordered. I got the octopus appetizer which was wonderful and served in a bowl almost like a gumbo. The octopus was delicious and well flavored. I thought that it could have easily been served as a main. For my main I got the Mediterranean sea bass, aka Bronzino. It was nicely butterflied and served with tail no head. It was excellent and well flavored. Others enjoyed their food. Service was great. The sommelier came by to decant our Brunello and the wine was very nice. Our server was attentive and friendly. The bus service could be improved. My main was brought before our cocktail and appetizer dishes were cleared. They messed up the orders regarding who ordered what. Minor negatives. Dessert was two nice coup glasses filled with lemon sorbet with a cookie and a candle. Very nice. Ambiance was an Italian bistro. Place had a bar on the right as you enter and booths of all sizes and various tables we sat at a round table in the center of the main dining area.No comment on value as we were treated by our daughter and son in law. We would return. Mark & Nancy."

We were seated within 5 mins of our arrival and got the best seat in the house. The service was quick and all of us really enjoyed our meals. They gave us a bowl of bread with parmesan cheese, crushed red paper, salt, pepper, and olive oil already on the table so we could create our own little dip for the bread. We all got drinks and dinner and everyone truly enjoyed it from start to finish. I got the chicken parm and it was delicious! Now for the star(s) of the show: midway through dinner, two guys started singing Italian songs while all the tables were seated and eating. Everyone loved it and started singing/clapping/laughing and all around was having such a good time. Moments like this truly makes going out to dinner a night to remember. The singers even asked if anyone was celebrating their birthday. 4 tables were! We had a blast doing a "cheers" with them and listening to them sing happy birthday to our friend and all those celebrating."
"Interior is stunning, with gorgeous seats and an ambiance that is perfect for a date night. The cozy, luxurious seating enhances the overall experience and the service was excellent. We got:- Portuguese Sweet Rolls w/ chamomile butter ($8) - Salt Cod Bolinhos w/ saffron mayo ($15) - Shrimp Mozambique w/ chili, lemon, cerveja ($18)- Grilled Mushrooms w/ harissa, charred onion yogurt, fried shallot ($17)- Piri Piri Poussin w/ fries, roasted garlic aioli ($34)For dessert we got: - Portuguese Egg Tart- SohnosThe sweet rolls were a great starter, not the best I've had but good enough. The piri piri and fries were heavily salted, but everything else was delicious and highly recommended. Do note that a 3% "administrative fee" is added to the end of your meal. Overall, a great dining experience."
"This is an espresso martini only review, because that is why I come here.I travel to Boston for work on occasion. There are many places I like to stop for a meal but only one that I come to for an espresso martini - right here. It is actually made with espresso (you would be surprised to see what some other places do) and offers killer flavor. We prefer to go straight to a corner of the bar and make our order. It comes quickly, and then we get to just sip and relax. Sure sometimes there is a bit of hustle and bustle but nothing gets in the way of espresso martini nirvana. The menu says the martini is famous. I do not know if that is true but it should be!"
"Just moved to the Boston area and celebrated our anniversary here. The clam chowder was excellent NE, and the French Onion soup was classic. I had the baked oysters, which was a first for me and I'd return for them as well as the mussels! We had the special Sea Bass and the Seafood Risotto, both large portions and excellent! Their special Old Fashion was made the same way as my all time favorite of bourbon on the rocks with an orange slice or twist but made perfect muddled with sugar and cherries. The Old Fashioned and wine were huge free pours.Reservations are difficult to get, so plan early and let them respond with availability. The large private parking lot is not large enough!! Cars were overflowing to the side street! Will return for sure!"
"Came on a Sunday night for a party of 3 and there was no wait. Service was friendly and quick. Our server, Christian, was knowledgeable and gave several recommendations based on what we were looking for.The bread for the table was a simple rustic bread with fluffy chewy interior and hard crust. They will ask if you want bread. Two of us shared the Boscaiola which was rich but because it is vegetable based, filling but light. I really enjoyed the creamy mushroom flavor and the peas were a sweet addition. We also shared the Burrata Raviola. I am not very familiar with burrata, but is like a creamier version of mozzarella cheese. There is just the right amount of truffle flavor in the dish.A cute, casual spot for an informal date night or girl's night out."
"Really great place to grab some apps and a drink. We came here after picking out a Christmas tree across the lot. Burrata was a 10/10. Croquettes we're very good as well. The drink that was served hot was DELICIOUS. The raspberry drink is a one and done for me."
"Quite a nice meal to end 2023. Hot fresh crispy calamari, chitarra al tartufo, eggplant parm, maeilando all wonderful. Decent espresso martinis with or without baileys. Welcoming service."
"excellent beer & wine selection. creative menu. excellent food, well made & delivered quickly. cool artsy vibe. not a tremendous amount of room, but not too tight.this is a quick walk from the USS Constitution Museum & probably wouldn't even have noticed it if we hadn't been looking for it. glad we didn't miss it."
"Massimino's gave me conflicting vibes but ultimately, net positive for me. Stopped here for dinner and unfortunately got in the mix with all the Bruins fans also here before the game. This meant a full house and we were given an estimate of 30 minutes wait. While waiting, numerous parties came in with reservations so we were worried we might get bumped later and later. One lesson is that they don't take reservations too serious, it's more like a waitlist even if you show up early or on time, you're added to the queue. One of the staff later noted that it might take a little longer but assured we'd get seated if we wanted to wait, so we did. We probably got seated just after 30 minutes, so no extreme delays. Eventually, we were one of the few parties still dining upstairs (they have downstairs seating) because everyone had left for the game. Usually it's seems to not be busy, unless you catch the rush like us so on any normal day, this situation does not happen. With that aside, food was excellent and service was not bad. Though service will vary depending on your expectations and how comfortable you are waiting. Price is high but not absurd.Clams Casino - I hadn't ordered clams casino before so this was a nice experience. Halfshells stuffed with breadcrumbs and clams, super tasty and not dry. Not sure how it might compare to others but it's definitely a strong appetizer to start with and prepare for delicious food.Lobster Ravioli - I believe five pieces of ravioli and four pieces of shrimp. Don't let the picture fool you, this is surprisingly filling. The ravioli has a bit of lobster in the center, so the initial bite or two may seem like normal ravioli but the center has the main content. Think of it as building up the anticipation. Though if you want lobster in particular, I'd probably go elsewhere, however this is a nice balance between Italian and seafood.Linguine Carbonara - this was so delicious. Also super oily but that does make it tastier. Bacon fat mixed with the oil left a little pool of oil at the end but the bacon was crispy, fatty, and perfect with some of the onion sweetness. Linguine was perfect al dente. Plentiful pasta. Words really can't express how satisfied I was, especially craving carbonara (and chicken parm, but that's irrelevant)."
"Out running errands, we needed a bit to eat to keep the energy going. We stopped at this tavern as it was less than a block from the butchery we needed to run to. Sat at the bar, Emma, the bartender, was great and swift with getting us water and a drink order going. Hubs had the Sam Summer; the lemon wedge was a nice twist, he said. I got the berry Cosmo, which is strong but really tasty. It came with a lil carafe to top off my drink when ready. For an app, we shared the Philly steak and cheese egg rolls. hubby said it took him back to childhood. They were very tasty, not greasy. I did need to add a hit of salt, though. Otherwise, def a repeat order next time. Since it was lunchtime, we decided to split a pasta dish. We opted for the scallop and shrimp dish; I can't remember the sauce name, and it's not on the online menu lol... But it was a light wine and garlic sauce that perfectly coated the pasta. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the asparagus in the dish was my favorite of the whole dish, blanched to perfection! We loved the vibe here.We will be back!"

Finally got to try Barcelona after hearing so much about it! Came for happy hour at about 5:30, but ran into traffic so we were late. The hostess was super sweet and was still able to seat us (thanks again!) and we tried lots of awesome dishes. From the octopus to the steak, everything was great! Also loved the olive oil cake! Remember these are tapas and meant for sharing so they're smaller plates but still yum. By the time we left around 7, it was jam packed so highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

The first impression was damaging, but the food was better than average. (on the first impression, three employees examined the seating chart together and spent about 4 minutes determining if they could somehow, some way fit us in. Then they led us upstairs and we all looked at each other like, what is this, a scam? But the red was quality and the service was engaging. It was surprisingly easy to carry on a conversation as the room ultimately filled up, so we'd go back again.

In a world where so many restaurants are raising prices and cutting corners, it's so wonderful to see that L'Osteria hasn't hopped on the bandwagon. I was back in town for a brief trip and made sure to make it one of my meal stops. I was so thrilled to discover that the food was just as delicious as I remember it from years ago. On a corner of Salem St, the windows provide prime people-watching opportunities and the ambiance is almost as welcoming as the greeting you'll receive when you first walk in. The love of food and commitment to the diners' experience is so evident, and the staff truly makes you feel like a valued patron. Truly delicious food and a warm, inviting environment make this a favorite on my list of Boston cuisine.

SRV is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston, so trying out their latest sister restaurant was a must. We came for dinner on a Wednesday with a reservation to celebrate our anniversary and had a great experience. The large space, previously occupied by a pizza place, has since been transformed into a warm setting with stunning architectural touches from floor to ceiling. There's a wide variety of seating options, but I would recommend making a reservation since it got pretty busy.Between the two of us we ordered four dishes, which was more than enough. We also ordered non-alcoholic drinks and appreciated how many options there were. My favorite dishes were the Portuguese Sweet Rolls and the Salted Cod Bohlinhos. We also got the Carrots Vindaloo and Duck Rice. The waiter was super friendly as were the hosts. They were sweet enough to give us complimentary non-alcoholic drinks in honor of our anniversary. While Baleia isn't a cheap meal, I'd definitely come back for another special occasion.

Bricco is Boston's Best (at least in my eyes)! Our first time here and wow were we impressed. The North End has so many Italian restaurants to choose from but Bricco definitely stands out for sure. They are one of the first restaurants you see when walking down Hanover Street (from Faneuil Hall), they have a gorgeous bar (some spots do not have one at all), they have friendly staff, especially the bartender we had, a spectacular and premier wine menu for both BTG and bottle and incredible Italian food that makes you want seconds. Bricco is just one of the many restaurants that this restaurant group owns. They also own Assaggio, Aqua Pazza, and Quattro, to name a few. We only shared the meatballs since we weren't all that hungry and they were delicious. I had a few glasses of their Montepulciano which was fantastic and super smooth. We shared their award-winning Espresso Martini for dessert.Bricco should be on your "restaurant bucket list" as your next date night spot for sure. I also would recommend reservations, especially on the weekends. Or you can always eat at the bar too if they have room. Cheers to Italian food in the North End!

This restaurant is like taking a step back in time - old wood, fireplaces galore and cozy vibes. The moment you sit down, you're greeted by someone who hand picks a dark or white roll for you, with butter on the table. It's nice that there's a bottle of water at the table too. We ordered the French onion soup cups, which was the perfect size before diving into our entrees. The menu is extremely diverse, but the comfort foods stole the show (pot roast and meatloaf). We ended with the caramel bread pudding, which was absolutely delicious. Portions are generous and prices are extremely affordable, which is a combination hard to come by today. Definitely recommend making a reservation, but looking forward to coming back the next time we're visiting family on the North Shore.

PROS: The staff was friendly and the drinks were amazing according to my friends who had some while I was there. Atmosphere is stellar, everything is clean, and they are a local favoriteCONS: Their food menu is very small and it has odd food choices on it. It also has no common food a bar would have. OVERALL: As long as you aren't going for food I think this is a great place to come to. It reminds me of a James Bond bar
Visit Restaurant Page"Really fun and tasty dinner! I sat at the row of moving bar stools which were a unique and comfortable place to sit, but while I was there I observed one person fall off a stool and a second person almost fell! So be careful on the moving bar stools or get a table if anyone in your group may be unsteady on a chair without a back! The arancini and the baccala mantecato were perfect small bites for two and the pasta dishes were well seasoned and so delicious! The negroni had a tasty apple flavor and the Venetian Spritz cocktail was also tasty, not as sweet as I would usually expect for an Aperol spritz."
"Still thinking about the fried fish from here....not only does this natural wine bar have tasty wine, but their food!!!!I had my first orange wine here and LOVED it. I know it's a common gesture but it was nice to try some of it before receiving the full glass. I thought it was a great drink to have with the food we had like their tuna tartare, arancini, and the fried fish. The fried fish was perfect. I went to another natural wine bar recently and didn't love it as much as I loved Gray's. It's cute and cozy inside with the warm tones- I love the vibes inside. It's not the biggest space but there's also seats outside if anything. The bar is a beaut!!I made a rez but walk ins are def doable. It's super casual, so if you're ever in a little wine drinky mood, stopping by here is the answer. I will be back!!"
"So good. I don't even love Italian food. So good. I can't see how this place is less than five stars. The homemade pasta is to die for. Even when I was full I couldn't stop eating it. As were the meatballs. Honestly, the bread was the highlight. If I just had bread and butter here it would have been five stars! Amazing amazing bread. And let's talk cannolis. People at my table who don't care for them couldn't say enough good things. These were the best I've had anywhere. As for the place itself, it's pretty small and very local. We had a coworker who grew up here and told us to come. The best recommendation I've gotten in a long time and one I won't forget for a long time."
"Honestly had an appointment in Newbury St. in the late AM and this was a highly rated tapas place close by that we walked into for brunch with minimal expectations. I was so just pleasantly surprised at how amazing every dish and cocktail was! Everything i didn't try on the menu honestly looked so good as well and I plan to come back with my in laws to try out the rest of it! The service was also phenomenal and the beautiful weather paired with the outdoor seating and amazing food made for a wonderful Saturday afternoon for us! We will definitely be back!"
"Went to visit Boston for my brother in law to run the marathon. Decided to try this restaurant out per my sister's recommendation and a few locals. For beverages I ordered a Ferrari (ginger beer with pomegranate and lime) and my sister and her friend ordered a pomelo mocktail and strawberry based wine. The Ferrari was pretty good. We also ordered focaccia, the tartare and for pastas (funghi, bolognese and ravilo carbonara). All delicious but my favorite was the funghi. Service was okay. I loved our waitress but I was disappointed she didn't offer us a dessert menu after dinner. I'm assuming they were closing soon, but I would say that's my only suggestion for improvement. It's a cozy aesthetic with a small open kitchen. Most people are dressed semi-casual."
"I've loved my experiences at the South End and Newton locations of MIDA, so I was excited to visit this latest location. The interior, as well as the view of the waterfront are absolutely stunning, and there are tables outside for when the weather gets warmer. We made a reservation for 4 on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. There are tables for all sorts of group sizes, as well as seating at the bar. The service was quick and friendly. We split the North Shore Fritto Misto, Paccheri Bolognese, Clam Pie, and Sausage Pizza. This was a good amount of food for the four of us, and I even had trouble finishing my last slice of pizza. The prices are fair, and I was even surprised that we didn't pay more. Overall, MIDA has become one of my favorite local franchises, and I'll definitely be back to enjoy a great meal and (when the time comes) warm weather."
"Stopped at nathálie for a quick glass (okay fine, two glasses) of wine and a snack. It was a beautiful day out so we asked to be seated outside and they accommodated our request. The staff are very knowledgeable about the various wines and can help you select one if you are unsure or can't decide. Our waiter even grabbed us a few wines to try to make sure we picked something we liked. We enjoyed our wines and the charcuterie plate."
"Yes, the parking lot sucks - get over it. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent, so its worth dealing with the hectic lot; the juice is worth the squeeze. First, I'd just like to say that they make the best hot-and-dirty around (top 3 ever, honestly). Mostly classics here, but done super well, using high quality ingredients. A sneaky star is the steak, especially tenderloin that comes with a perfect mushroom risotto."
"We have been working hard to hit all the restaurants on Shrewsbury st in Worcester. We finally made it to this Greek restaurant. Small, but cozy place with a nice bar and some outside seating. Our waitress was top notch, sweet person, with great accent. She took time to explain different options and food choices. She convinced us to try the Boyourdi, and we were glad she did. Tasteful, spicy appetizer with homemade pita bread. We then moved on to the main course. I had the Mediterranean Cod. A perfectly cooked fish dish with feta, tomatoes and onions. Wife had Shrimp Saganaki. A spicy shrimp dish with fresh pita. We both ate every bit and then finished with a giant piece of Baklava. If your in the area or you want true Greek food, here is your place"
"Had dinner here on a weekday evening with my wife. We've walked by many times, but never seemed kid friendly, so couldn't pass it up on a date night. It's very cozy inside, nice atmosphere and service. For how small it is, the menu has a lot of choices. I had the risotto with chicken and mushrooms, it was great. My wife liked her salmon. I had the pumpkin tart for dessert, which was incredible. My wife had the orange crème brûlée, which she loved. It's on the more expensive end, even for a South End restaurants, and they add a 3% kitchen fee, which they disclose in the middle of a big chunk of fine print on the bottom of the menu. I was okay with that, but I could see some people being annoyed (it's a fair argument to say just charge more, don't hide it)."
"Wow! 5 star is just right. Thank you Kyle for fab service. Also every employee was super friendly. Aaron we are looking for you tomorrow. The pies are excellent. Ordered the oyster bombs plus 1. Excellent. Fresh nicely presented and shucked. The flatbread salad perfect for two. Plenty. The 'Roni pizza we twisted with arugula on top and hot honey. Perfect. Wanted more. Taste texture excellent. Large beer selection. Tripping Animals was tasty. had a couple Dipa's...just not my fav but the Pinot from Williamette was awesome. Atmosphere...vibe is great. Coming back to get our pre race pizza. Totally don't miss this fab place."
"Absolutely adore how intimate cozy and ups ale while slightly casual this place feels. The wine list is phenomenal and the cheeses I had were delicious. The open kitchen is a lovely touch and everyone working was wonderful. I will say definitely make a reservation. Squeezing me in at 5 on a Wednesday as just one with no res was tough but they were very warm and accommodating and even helped me pick a seat that would let me stay the longest without being reserved by someone else which is so thoughtful! I do wish the food menu wasn't a QR code but the wine menu is printed. I just am a QR code hater but it's all great. I'd be excited to have the tinned fish next time bc I am a tin girlie through and through."
"We went on a Saturday night to meet our friends. We had gotten a reservation and I recommend getting one. They have valet parking which is really nice and they also validate parking. There are two lots one is free parking and the other is paid parking (validated). The ambience is totally enjoyable. The bar is really nice. They have such extensive seating spaces and they were still packed which says a lot about how amazing it is to be there. The service was impeccable, extremely friendly and super attentive. They have a very extensive drink menu and food menu. They have wine flights and various experience options which I thought was amazing. Don't expect large portions but you can expect delicious food. I would love to go back in the near future."
"Omggggg! Now this place is a hidden gem!!!! We chanced not having reservations here and lucked out!! We arrived around 7:30, minutes before the music was to start and sat in the area. It was a great experience!! The musicians were amazing !!! We ordered the following food... *MUSSELS FRITES, LEMONGRASS, COCONUT MILK, LINGUICIA SAUSAGE, BREAD This was soooo tasty and plentiful!!! *DRY AGED BURGER, MALT ONION JAM, VERMONT CHEDDAR, AIOLI with BACON and truffle fries This burger was huge and yummy! * ROASTED CHICKEN, LEMON, GARLIC WHIPPED RED POTATOES, BROCCOLI This entree was on the healthy side but delicious. lol Overall, the entrees we ordered were great choices. We ended up leftovers to enjoy later. The music experience was AWESOME!! Our server Andrea was very kind and pleasant. We appreciate that. An amazing experience here!!! Look forward to dining here again and enjoying music!!!!!"
"With Dine Out Boston 2023 underway (8/6 - 8/19), many restaurants have special prix fixe menus. B&G offers the following lunch prix fixe for $32.Starter (choice of one)- New England Clam Chowder | lardon, chive, spicy puff pastry crouton- Snap Pea Salad | house made cheese, red onion, almond vinaigretteEntree (choice of one)- Moules Frites | Pernod butter sauce, crème fraîche, shaved fennel- Seared Salmon | fregola sarda, cucumber, cherry tomatoDessert (choice of one)- Chocolate Mousse | butter toffee, flaky sea salt, EVOO- Vanilla Panna Cotta | strawberry rhubarb coulis, lemon lace cookie, mintI had a reservation for Friday at noon. The establishment seemed half-full at the time, so perhaps it was unnecessary. For my order, I got the clam chowder, moules frites, and panna cotta. Additionally, I ordered a half-dozen raw oysters ($3.75ea / $22.5 half-dozen).The raw oysters came with lemon, mignonette, and horseradish cocktail sauce. The oysters themselves tasted immaculately fresh, with differing levels of brine. None felt overly briny; rather, they all felt refreshing. The clam chowder incorporated copious amounts of lardons. I've had some diner breakfasts that didn't taste that bacon-y. It also did not skimp on clams - every spoonful had some. The Moules Frites arrived with some well-salted and crisped fries. The mussels themselves seemed well cooked; I personally would have liked them cooked a minute or two less so they would be plumper. The seafood stock and white wine broth proved irresistible; I wish it came with a slice of bread. The portion size seems suitable for a light lunch.I normally don't eat dessert, so I do not have a useful opinion about the panna cotta.Overall, I quite enjoyed my lunch. $32 for the prix fixe seems like quite the steal. The oysters were also worth the premium price point."
"Some of the best clams and mozzarella sticks I've ever had. The mozzarella stick was just super flavorful and vodka sauce served on the side was incredible. The clams were equally as amazing, the garlic cream/broth was so rich and flavorful. Dipping the bread in it just took it to the next level. The pizza wasn't the best I ever had but still ranks pretty high. The Hot Honey Pizza was smoky, sweet, salty, all of the good flavor profiles. The crust was very pillowy. Overall the food really impressed me."
"Tasty. From the bread to the appetizers to the entries. The waitstaff were super friendly. The tables were comfortable. Worth a try."
"Zuzu's vibe is stellar. The decor (in my unprofessional guess of a description) can be described as vintage European meets cute mid century modern. They play jazz on the record player. It is an intimate, no tech zone. The servers were both lovely. What tacks off a star for me is the price. It is very expensive for just dessert. The portions are larger than a standard dessert at a restaurant, but it was still more expensive than I expected. Expect to pay $15-$18 for a single dessert. Regardless, I still think it's a nice experience to try if you're into dessert! Fyi - there is no sit-down fee as another review described so that must be outdated."
"I came here in the summer and sat outdoors - which was such a cute spot to people watch in Cambridge! Dear Annie has a lovely wine selection, and the staff was very knowledgeable in helping us decide what wines to ordered. We also ordered the green beans as an appetizer which were so delicious- well seasoned and in an amazing homemade sauce."
"This is HEAVENLY. This sent me to HEAVENNNNN Oh my goodness imagine alll the flavors BUSTING in your mouth like I can't take it! With every bite I just feel like I'm being sent back to being born. For each dish, you get to choose your level of spice. For new timers, get the egusi soup and pounded YAM fufu. This is literally advertized "as seen on tik tok" on the menu which was kinda funny lol. But yes this is the one you see everywhere and it does NOT dissapoint! So fff good I wish I could bathe in the stew. It is NOT spicy at all so don't fear! and even so the pounded Yam diles back the spiciness if anything. I can't really describe what egusi tastes like, its like something completly different on its own. The palm butter stew was super rich and creamy and I got it with goat meat. The goat meat was so tender it just kind of falls apart in my hand! So juicy and so flavorful, only thing was I wished there was more sauce/liquid. Service was also great! We came when it was relatively empty and there was only 1 server. She was very nice but she also had to handle other tables that were much bigger like family size. But none the less she was super friendly and got us what we needed. The place was beautifully decorated and had AC! Super nice environment to just chill and relax. You know its a nice family business when they are counting reciepts and working on the table beside you lol.Overall, I dream about this in my sleep."
"I had a great dinner at Frenchie and am glad to have come here. The staff were attentive to my previous phone call about it being our anniversary, and they brought over complimentary champagne for a toast. We were able to be seated in the greenhouse, which gave a more intimate feeling to the meal. The duck breast with purple sweet potato was exquisite. Perfectly cooked, and I wish more restaurants would use the purple sweet potato combination! My beef bourgignon was a bit dry and underwhelming, unfortunately, which is the only reason I'm not giving this review five stars. But the service was excellent and it was a special dinner that turned out great. I plan to return and try a new dish--or maybe back to the duck if it's still on the menu!"
"One of my favorite spots to go to for special occasions! Grill 23 & Bar has been around for many years now and does not have as much of a modern look as the newer steakhouses in Boston but the food still continues to win me over! I enjoy their fried calamari fra diavolo appetizerc seared scallops, and filet mignon oscar style! Desserts here are also a must. Lots of street parking available around, as well. I still think Grill 23 & Bar is a lot better than many of the newer spots... food quality & taste wise. An Oldie but STILL a goodie!"
"Charming restaurant located in the North End.The space in the restaurant itself is pretty tight so chances are you will bump into your neighbor. The restroom is in the back and it a single toilet per gender. Service was quick! Our food came out fast. We ordered the lobster special (lobster/mussels/clams all over a spicy fettuccine) and the table side prepared brandy flambéd fettuccine with portobello mushroom and sundried tomato. The table side prep was fun to watch but honestly the meal was very normal. Nothing crazy stood out to me about the two dishes we ordered. The mussels and clams were kind of over cooked. We also got some bread for the table and it was ok. Not the best bread. Didn't seem fresh."
