I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants, but Trattoria Il Panino is something special. Tucked away in the heart of Boston's North End, this place feels like you've stepped into a little slice of Italy. If you're looking for a true Italian dining experience with fantastic food and an even better wine selection, this is it.First, let me rave about the lobster ravioli. It was *delectable* - hands down out of this world . The pasta was perfectly tender, with a rich, creamy filling of fresh lobster that melts in your mouth. The sauce was light yet flavorful, with just the right touch of sweetness from the tomatoes and a hint of butter. Every bite was luxurious but not too heavy. You could really taste the quality of the ingredients, and it made the whole dish unforgettable. But the lobster ravioli was just the beginning. The menu is packed with Italian classics, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with that perfect mix of upscale yet casual vibes, making it great for a date night or a fun dinner with friends. And let's talk about the wine! Their wine selection is excellent, with a focus on Italian wines that pair beautifully with the food. The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful with recommendations if you're not sure what to choose. I went with a glass of Chianti, and it was spot on with my meal, complementing the richness of the lobster ravioli perfectly. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just love a good glass with dinner, you'll find something to love here.Service was another highlight - attentive without being overbearing. Our server was friendly and seemed genuinely passionate about the food and wine, which always makes the experience even better.Overall, Trattoria Il Panino is everything you want in a North End restaurant - incredible food, a warm atmosphere, and fantastic wine. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. If you're in Boston and craving Italian, this is the spot you don't want to miss!

1. Bolognese2. Pesto pasta3. Meatballs, whipped truffle ricotta 4. cured carpaccio 5. Espresso martini (award winning ?!)Absolutely amazing food and service still dreaming about the pesto-- very earthy and herby, non cheesy, a refreshing take. Will always order the meatballs as an app- whipped truffle ricotta is so good (May be biased bc i love truffle). Usually espresso martinis taste like motor oil to me but this was nice a creamy so yum

3.5/5 stars They run 20-30 minutes behind reservation times. The service wasn't great; no one was particularly friendly. They split the wine bottle, which isn't a big deal, but I didn't love that they did it.The food was solid but limited. My wife and I both ordered ravioli, which came with five large pieces. I got the mushroom ravioli while my wife had the lobster ravioli. We thought both were good. The espresso martinis were fantastic--10/10!

Decent option for Italian food in the North End. We were able to make reservations on a Friday afternoon for lunch, no problem, which was great. The service here is just okay, nothing standout-ish but we got our food in a timely manner which was much appreciated. We started off with some complimentary bread, which was OK but the fresh olive oil was spectacular. I ordered chicken parm which came with pasta and my friend got pesto pasta. The chicken itself was fresh but would have been tastier if it was a bit crispier. The pasta, however, was INCREDIBLE. Cooked perfectly and the sauce was great as well. My friend's pasta was cooked well too but the dish could have used more seasoning: 4/5 overall.

Trattoria that does Italian food good -- their sauces were delicious. They have a little bit of everything and their Ravioli Porcini(Ravioli with Wild mushrooms and black truffle cream) were my favorite, along with the Pepata di Cozze (Sautéed mussels in spicy garlic, Colina tomato and white wine broth) as appetizers.

This place was so good! We came on a Friday night and the atmosphere was lively. There were a couple people by the bar watching a game, music blasting, and a couple tables taken up. It's a perfect late night spot because they're open til 2am and despite coming really late the service was still speedy.

A great place for dinner in the North End of Boston! I had made a reservation the day before and we were seated immediately. The food was out so quickly and delicious. I had the lasagna (not the best lasagna I've ever had but pretty dang good), and my boyfriend had another pasta dish that he enjoyed. The portions were large and we were very happy to go back to the hotel and eat our leftovers after a fun night out in Boston. It was a nice atmosphere for a date night and would recommend

I love some good Italian food and this restaurant has exactly that! The vibe at night is very romantic. This is a great place to take a date to. Great customer service here. MA had some great customer service which I loved on this trip. Me and my friend ordered the muscles to start with and my god it was delicious. The bread it came with was just too crunchy. We had ordered some bread to start with that was fresh and soft. Wish they paired a less crunchy bread for the muscles. We also shared a pasta, which was a good idea since the portions are huge!!! I love restaurants that serve huge portions, only means leftovers. And we definitely had leftovers. We got the Mezzi Paccheri al Ragú, never had veal in my life and really enjoyed this dish. Lots of meat and the sauce was full of flavor. There's a reason they have multiple locations! If you're looking for some Italian food you need to come here

Trattoria II Panino is worth the hype! I usually avoid going to the North End because parking is pretty horrendous. I really wanted to try this place out though, as I had heard many great things. There was plenty of seating available at 9:30pm on a Sunday night (thank goodness!) and we were seated immediately. We started off with the calamari fritti & each got our own individual pastas: spaghetti carbonara with chicken, spaghetti alle vongole macchiato, and trombetta al pesto! The calamari fritti came nice and hot. It tasted super fresh & I was super glad we ordered it. The pastas were all served in a pan, just so cute like come on. All of the pastas we ordered and tried had good flavor + pasta was cooked to perfection. Topping off the pastas with some parm is a must! SO GOOD. We all thought that portion sizes were actually quite generous for the price. Their homemade pastas were all under $30 each. Also, their espresso martinis are no joke. You just have to try it when you come. Definitely would come here again ;)
