While Tony & Elaine's isn't a traditional Hanover St. establishment, it's a fantastic classic old school Italian joint on the outskirts of the North End. Don't be fooled by it's simple menu and 90's bar/pizzeria decor with red and white checkerboard table cloths, the food is fantastic! The highlight was the chicken parm. I had heard how good it was, and it didn't disappoint. I still can't believe how amazing this chicken parm was! Thin, crispy, and paired with a great sauce. My only gripe is that the dish could've used a bit more pasta. The caesar salad was simple but great as well. Pro tip: make sure to visit in the summer as they have a nice outdoor seating area.

Was there while visiting family in town and sat outside all the way in the back by the fence. We sat and it smelled faintly of urine but we ignored it until we heard the rats. We noticed a bunch of rats playing and climbing the fence by us - they were also pretty loud. Probably about 3ft from us. Once we got our food they workers came and moved the trash and started spraying what we were told was rat deterrent but we smelled it and watched the spray come over the chain linked fence. It also didn't deter the rats. We did say something and they comped about half our meal which was niceOverall the food was good but wish we had been able to enjoy it.

First the good: the food was amazing. Delicious garlic bread and meatballs for appetizers with outstanding chicken Marsala for an entree. Old school Italian at its best. Now the not so good: we sat outside and what seemed to be a family of rats was scampering around our feet. We know it's in the middle of a city but perhaps investing in rat traps around the eating area would be helpful. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to move but it was hard to enjoy the delicious food after that.

The food was very yummy and the atmosphere was so nice! The restaurant is very cutely designed and feels cozy. The service was fine but they forgot our alcohol until near the end of the meal.

Italian food at Tony & Elaine's in the North End was a first for us; I felt as if we were eating in my Grandfather's Italian kitchen. I have passed by this restaurant many times and have always wanted to go and so glad we did last night. Before attending a concert (5 min walk to TD Garden) we had a lovely dinner here. Luckily, I made reservations ahead of time because they were full and we may not have gotten in. Ambiance: When you go to the North End you expect somewhat of an old Italian feel and we felt that immediately. They have classic Italian red and white tablecloths that take me back to when I was younger. Once you see them you will understand. It is a small and intimate restaurant that has outdoor seating and a first-floor and basement level. We were brought down to the "basement" level to eat and it was very nice but small with only about 8 tables or so.Food: They have a great menu of appetizers and entrees and a nice selection of bottles of wine. For BTG they only offer a red (Montepulciano) and a white (not sure of the varietal) but something Italian. The wine was good, but not great. We ordered their "Award-winning Meatballs" which were also ok and I was a bit disappointed. I also ordered their Prosciutto di Parma and I wish I paid extra for the Burrata. For entrees, I had their Orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Chicken Parm and this too was excellent. Overall: We had a lovely time here at Tony & Elaine's and I would like to come back with my husband since it is a very romantic restaurant. I also would like to try some of their bottles of wine and other pasta dishes. If you are looking for something new in the North End come and check them out. Buon Pasto~

This place is absolutely stellar. From the young gents pouring the olive oil in the dipping plate, to the attentive and kind wait staff, to the garden patio ambiance and the house made pasta, and the fun and delicious sangria (red wine with Sunkist soda). The food is incredibly good quality similar to what someone's Italian mother would make at home. A kitschy, homestyle vintage experience (vinyl tablecloths and plastic tumblers), an absolutely lovely meal and fun way to spend an evening.

Cute Italian spot in Boston! We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs, Orecchiette sausage rabe, and lots and lots of bread. The patio is cute and lit up, service is great. They surprised us with cannolis for my daughter's birthday which was super sweet. Cheers!

Made a reservation for four on a Saturday evening and enjoyed a delicious meal away from the crowded main streets of the North End.We were sat at a booth, which was comfortable and allowed us to enjoy a little bit more privacy. The atmosphere is lively but not loud, and the service was friendly. We were started off with bread and olive oil. Not sure if refills were complimentary. Normally I would ask but I didn't want to fill up too much stomach space on bread. We ended up ordering two Shrimp Scampi and two Lasagnas. I really enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi. It had more of a sophisticated flavor than the Shrimp Scampi I've had in the past, I'm guessing due to the use of white wine.Overall a lovely meal in a cozy environment. I usually dread facing the crowds in the North End, but I'd definitely come back for some delicious pasta in a calmer environment.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the north end!! It's super small and cozy, tucked away on the outskirts of the north end. I'm obsessed with the ambiance: string lights, boston memorabilia and checkered table cloths. We ordered the pasta alla vodka, shrimp scampi and spaghetti and meatballs. Two of us split the pasta alla vodka and they brought it out already split into 2 separate plates!! So lovely! The chicken cutlet is nice and thin and crispy- my favorite!!The food was amazing, the ambience was incredible and we will absolutely be back!!
