The Villa Restaurant

Shhhh... This place has GREAT pizza, but they're hiding it from you.~~~~~~~~~~~~We drive past the Villa frequently and can't help but notice the parking lot is always full. So, a few months ago, we finally stopped in to try it. My partner ordered one of only four pizzas on the in-restaurant menu--a white pizza with spinach and artichokes. She loved it.I had the Veal Parm, one of my faves, and it was 'good.' I wouldn't rave about it, but I liked it just fine.A few months later, we noticed a big pizza painted on the side of the building and a new door/area exclusively for pizza pickup. This left us scratching our heads a little since they only had four pizzas on the menu. We decided to check it out.After speaking with our waitperson, we learned, 'Everyone knows you can order just about any pizza you want here!!!' LolOf course, we ordered our two pizzas with our favorite toppings (unfortunately, we like very different pizza toppings, so we always have lots of leftovers). Now we know why they had to create a new space for pizza pickup. Our pizzas were fantastic!I had pepperoni, roasted red pepper, and onion. She had a white pizza again, with chicken and broccoli this time.Her son was with us this time and felt like having a burger. Following our lead, he asked the waitperson, 'Can I get a burger here?' And guess what? Burgers only appear on the lunch menu and not the dinner menu, even though you can order them at dinner. Once again, this was something 'Everyone knows.'Well, now we are in the know, and we'll be back!!!

It's been awhile since we've been to The Villa. The new ownership did a nice job remodeling the interior. But the food just doesn't measure up to what The Villa was known for over the years. We thought we'd give it a try last night. Walking in on a Sunday at 6 pm and noticing a lot of empty tables should have been a warning. But we went aheItad and sat down anyway. My wife ordered the flounder off the menu. She said the flounder itself was tasty but was dismayed that the green beans served with rice as a bed for the fish were not fresh - they appeared to be canned. I ordered the beef lasagna which had always been my go-to at The Villa. It really seemed lackluster and not up to par with the old Villa's lasagna. And to top it off, imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and unquenchable thirst ... signs of MSG being used to boost a dish's flavor. I tend to be fairly susceptible to MSG and just didn't expect it to be used in lasagna. We will not give The Villa another try.

The food has gone down since the new owners took over . We have been eating at this restaurant for many years and was always very good but know the food is poor and they have increased prices. The wait staff are still very good but they seem to be changing all the time! Don't mind paying the price for good quality but not for poor quality. Last week ordered a fried haddock and it was absolutely terrible and it was as very thin and dry ( about 1/4 inch thick) I didn't think they caught fish that thin . Sorry you have lost a faithful customer until they improve the quality . The restaurant is clean and friendly.

Great Italian-American food joint in Wayland. Came in on a Friday night at 6:15 and were promptly seated. Ordered the parmigiana combo and the fried eggplant appetizer and both hit the spot. We're seated in the bar area, but there's also a traditional seating area as well. Definitely recommend if you've got a hankering for American-style Italian food.

My family and I have bern going to the Villa for years and everything I've had is mostly good, but this is just a review on tonight's takeout meal. Had the Lobster Ravioli and garlic bread. The bread is definitely a must have for your meal, and although not the best lobster ravioli I've ever had, it was very tasty and I liked the sauce, portion, and it was cooked well.

Note: This is our first visit since the change in ownership. We've been a few times previously and always enjoyed our visit. One of the draws to this place was Keno, and I'm sorry to report that it's gone. Finito. Gonzo. What the hell...That is all.

Here's something annoying: I ordered a couple of entrees for takeout and they added a two dollar "packaging fee". By that logic, they should charge a "dishwashing fee" when you eat on site!

Since the new management took over the food has gone downhill. The remodeling of the dining area was welcome as the old decor was far past it's day, and the service is still great, but great food is the primary reason people select a restaurant. The new management cannot expect to coast very long on the great history of the former ownership. Cutting corners is not appreciated, even for something as simple as real cream for the coffee. No decent restaurant makes patrons settle for artificial creamers. What is next? Margarine instead of butter? We may give the place one more try to see if it improves, but not too soon, as we were very disappointed.

Cesar salad was not that great, sour and so average. Fried clams and scallops were well done. Tasty and satisfying. Service was very slow and disconnected; however place is clean and smells good.

The service here was impeccable. The bartenders Cindy and Cat were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu!!! They provided excellent recommendations and ensured our dining experience was flawless. The entire staff was friendly and professional, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.Would go back!!!
