Came here again and I have to say everything was just how I remember it. Food came out quickly and everything was super yummy. One thing I will note though is I think the portions of the katsu have gotten smaller which is disappointing. Service was average and the ambiance was the same!

Got the Hawaii roll which had rice paper around spicy salmon and then also had the crazy salmon. That one sometimes masked the flavors of the fish. The sashimi dinner was decent but the tuna wasn't as tasty as I would have liked it to be. Salmon fried rice was a bit oily, and the miso soup was overly salted.

This is my go-to if I want dinner before a symphony or theater performance. It is usually packed on a Friday night before the show and as usual there was a wait, but the line moves fast. We were surprised to learn that they now take reservations so that will be a must next time. After waiting for 5 minutes the hostess asked if we would like to sit at the bar, which we did. Bar seating can sometimes be squished but this was very comfortable with actual chairs instead of stools. If you don't mind servers reaching over you to grab sushi preparations for customers it is just the ticket to avoid the long-ish wait. A side benefit is seeing the chefs working hard at their dishes. Our server arrived quickly and was prompt and helpful. We both had a glass of Reisling. My companion had a tuna sushi dish which she gets every time, along with the sushi pizza, pictured. I had the shrimp and vegetable tempura and a side of brown rice. The tempura was perfectly cooked with a crisp and flavorful batter. Just enough for me to finish and feel satisfied without having to haul leftovers into Symphony Hall (which I'm sure they would frown upon). The price was reasonable and we were in and out in plenty of time to enjoy the BSO.

Symphony Sushi is a reliable way to satisfy a sushi craving. I've gotten their spicy combo countless times over the past year or so, and I also really enjoy their sushi lunch specials (I liked the salmon one.) They have yummy appetizers like the yellowtail carpaccio, miso eggplant, and karaage, and some of the other reliably good rolls include their crazy maki and fire maki. I was pleasantly surprised by the yellow fin maki--the mango wasn't weird or overpowering at all.The people at Symphony Sushi are always really nice whenever I go to pick up an order, and I'd highly recommend giving them a try!

Overall a good place for lunch. Price is extremely competitive in the area. I've been here twice already. The first time I ordered the unagi lunch box special for $15. The second time I ordered from the dinner menu for the unagi don for $20 hoping for more protein. And I was told the portion would be bigger.Turned out the portion was a little bigger. BUT.... I spent the extra $5 for the extra sushi rice in the bowl . What I was expecting was more eel, not more sushi rice... I almost asked for a refill of the miso soup ha! But I guess they don't do it. Who would ask for a soup refill...? But the food was good! Tasty but not expensive. The dining environment is great too. Their tables are great for a work lunch with friends and colleagues.

Great selection, great taste. The place went from empty to full in about five minutes at 6pm on a Friday. We were seated at about 6:10, so our order took about a half-hour, so be aware.The service was excellent, and they kept us apprised of when our order would be ready. We (two people) ordered the Maki Boat, and wondered if it would be enough. We couldn't finish it!

I eat sushi all the time all over the country. This was the worst sushi I've ever had. Grocery store sushi is better. I spent so much money, more on rolls than in some places, and the fish was not fresh. The fillers were too much. Even the shumai was overcooked and burnt. There is a rule that you never leave sushi. You make sure that you eat it all. We couldn't even finish it. It was so bad.
