We came in to the restaurant after the walk at the park. We were with our daughter. They found a table for us. It was not loud there which I liked. They were missing several kids of sake so I ended up not having a drink. Food tasted good but I found rolls to be a bit smaller than usual. The rolls pricing was a bit higher averaging $13. The location is very convenient for a quick bite.

This neighborhood spot is worth a visit. The portions are generous, the pricing is reasonable and the service is attentive. It's a small restaurant that seems to do a brisk takeout business. We were seated right away and ordered edamame, gyoza fried, sushi sashimi combo, beef chapchae, Dol Sot BiBimBap Beef and bulgoki. The sushi sashimi and beef dishes are good - I would not rate it in the same level as Japan or Koreatown food. For us, it's a 3.5 stars but giving it 4 stars as I think it's a standout in the neighborhood.

Incredible! I went for dinner and can't say enough about how good the food was. We tried the pork gyoza, tuna tartar, miso soup, udon noodles, spicy salmon roll and the southie roll. They did not miss! The salmon roll is a MUST get. I am a sushi fanatic and it was one of the tastiest rolls I have ever had. Crazy good. The udon noodles were great too but if I am being picky, there was too much cabbage, and not enough noodles, and I might recommend getting it with shrimp instead of chicken. But honestly, I might just get 2 spicy salmon rolls to myself the next time I go - I am already craving another!! My other complaint is that we went on a cold night and every time the front door opened the entire place had a cold breeze rush through, so it was a bit chilly. Sitting at the first table next to the door would be rough!

10/10 would recommend coming to Moko Southie for your sushi cravings- the menu is so unique with rolls I've never heard of! Cajun seasoned salmon with coconut shrimp inside? To die for. You get great value for what you're paying, as other sushi restaurants charge upward to $20+ for a sushi roll. Easy to find off Broadway street, parking may be tricky. On top of it all the owner Joy is a delight. Super hospitable, warm and inviting . Would absolutely come again!

The food at this place seemed good enough, however I wouldn't really know seeing as that the hour I had set aside for dinner before a flight was seemingly not enough time to get us anything other than one appetizer. After waiting 45 minutes, we finally got an appetizer, and shortly after asked to take the rest to go, since I had a flight to catch. We were told that it would be at least another 10 minutes because they were "very busy." This wasn't the best excuse, seeing that the entire restaurant was visible to me, and there were only about 9 other people there. We were given a plate of seaweed salad on the house, but it would have been nice to have been comped a bit more, seeing as that we had to walk away without getting most of our meal. Service like this isn't acceptable in a major city, they need to figure it out.

After a bad first date (C'est la vie - I wish her well), some men go to a bar, some go to the gentlemen's club, and others just go home. Me? I eat sushi until I feel better. It worked. I ordered:- Tuna Tar Tar [sic]- Sexy Crispy- Salmon Lover Maki- Wild Fire Maki - Golden MakiAcross the board fish seemed to be very fresh and high quality. Rice was cooked fresh and of perfect consistency too. Tuna Tartare (Tar Tar) was great! The consistency was very nice, and the flavors added by the sauce were pleasantly mild and accented the flavor of the tuna. Combined with the sauces on the plate, this dish became spicy! Don't take this lightly, this is coming from someone whose taste buds have bathed in fire! The crispy wontons added a nice crunch too!Sexy Crispy was almost exactly the same as Tuna Tartare, the only differences were that it felt less spicy (if at all), and that it had the tiniest pieces of tomato I had ever seen. Same fish, a different shape of the same crispy wonton, etc. Still delicious, certainly, but would have been nice if there were a little more variety. Salmon Lover Maki was great, especially considering the quality of the fish! The cucumber, avocado, and salmon were all in balance (especially with the piece on top). The spicy mayo and caviar added a nice touch and helped round this roll out. Absolutely a win in my book. Wild Fire Maki gets points not just for flavor, but also for creativity. I loved the play between the seared tuna on top, and the raw tuna within. The seared jalapeños also gave a very mild heat as opposed to the more in-your-face heat of fresh jalapeños. As for the tuna within, the amount was quite generous! Now, I am typically not the biggest fan of fish that feels like it went through a food processor, but with it being spicy (likely blended with sauce/spice), this is forgiven. Golden Maki was a bit more of a miss for me. This has only do do with the piece of eel inside being very small. Now, it shouldn't go unmentioned that the piece of salmon the roll was topped with was not skimped on. Still, the eel within was not able to assume its starring roll. The service was nice, and of a good speed. It did seem like sushi did spend a little time at the sushi chef's station after preparation, but I can't say this si good or bad, as I have no idea how the front of the house is run (especially since it seemed there were two waiters/bartenders at the time). Also, the vibe in here is a little unusual. It's classy and upscale, yet there are three very large TV's (goes a little against the vibe, especially considering the small space) Also, positioning of the restrooms means while eating, you might get a view of the facilities as someone enters or exits.

My favorite local sushi place! Might even be my favorite sushi place in general! Food is always high quality and super fresh. It's a cute restaurant inside but small and you will need a reservation on a weekend night. It's fun to sit at either the bar (beer, wine, sake) or get a front row seat at the sushi bar! The staff is always kind and attentive too. Will 1000000000% keep coming back as long as I live in southie.
