"Central Food Market, is one of those hard to find places that serves authentic Latin American food. This market has everything from hot food made daily to frozen food, from different Central American countries. All is very yummy, I've tried the pupupas mixtas and the plantano con frijol (fried banana with black beans) and have loved them both. They breakfast burritos in the morning and tacos for lunch. The only down side to this place is that it's a first-come-first-serve kind of take out, stuff tends to run out towards the end of the day and they don't make more until the next day. Being Guatemalan I love tor-trix, it's the national snack of Guatemala, and to my surprise they had snack size bags of lemon flavored tor-trix here!"
"Fast casual Mexican in the Chestnut Hill area that was decent but not great. Located in an upscale shopping center a few minutes away from BC, it's a pretty popular spot for people to grab and go although they have a few seats if you're inclined to stay. I got a bowl with carnitas and it was just ok. Overall the flavors were pretty tame and I needed to add some hot sauce to perk up the taste buds. The jamaica was a tad too sweet and the horchata was just ok. While I'm making this place sound bad, its not, I just have a picky palate when it comes to Mexican food since I'm a bit spoiled having eaten a lot in Queens, NYC. If you're looking for a decent priced burrito in the area, you could do far worse."

After I gave them choices about food types, she picked ole.We made our way over and were seated promptly, I loved the salsa, it was unique and flavorful.I had a mezcal margarita, and for my main course I had some very savory mushroom quesadillas! All around great experience, if I'm ever back in the area I would visit again!"
"Alas, the search for the best tacos continues... There were some redeeming qualities, but the pork belly tacos weren't one of them. For a drink I ordered a classic margarita. This thing was strong! Here I am writing an hour later and I am still feeling the effects. It was a little sweet for my tasty, but a squeeze of the lime was all it took to balance that out. Nothing mind blowing, but for a classic marg, it fit the bill quite well!Where it comes to the Chicharrón (pork belly) taco plate, this had the makings of something great, but fell flat. The pork belly was a little too crisp (i.e. dry), though the flavors were there. A different manner of cooking is all it would take to make these incredible! Pork belly aside, the ingredients were well balanced, and there was a nice amount of freshness in the tacos. As for the guacamole, this more resembled a sauce than a mouthwatering and chunky guacamole. The taco plate comes with cilantro rice and beans. Cilantro rice was good! It was seasoned and cooked very well. The beans were... well, beans! Take it from me, unless you really love rice and beans, just get three tacos instead. For the Pupusas, these were remarkably unimpressive and uninspired. These were two griddled tortillas filled with a ground pork that other than a bit of salt had not much oomph or dimensionality. The sauce was a miss. It felt more like a pasta sauce, albeit a nice one, that was heated. The pickled cabbage was a nice touch to add some acidity, but not enough to lift this dish out of its pit of despair. The Churros were the winning dish that night. These were cooked to perfection with a light crisp exterior and a soft airy interior. The cinnamon sugar and caramel gave a lovely sweetness. Though, it seems most of the caramel was there to make the plate look pretty.Where it comes to the location, it was cool, colorful, modern, and bumping! Overall, I'd say this had more a lounge-with-food vibe than a restaurant. There is a large horseshoe bar in the center and tables around it. Most tables are for 2 people, though two tables were 4-person, and two could seat 8. Though at tables, space is at a premium because of how small they are. Music plays rather loudly, though I could swear it got quieter at 8:30 than it was at 6:00!"
"First time to eat at Los Cabo's was on a Saturday afternoon around 2:00. The restaurant was not too busy so we were seated right away. Warm chips were served with freshly made mild salsa. We prefer hotter salsa so we add a few drops of Tabasco to spice it up. Started with jalapeño margarita which was spicy, strong and delicious. For lunch we had the pork carnitas with black beans, Spanish rice and a small side of guacamole. The carnitas was served hot, nicely seasoned and very tender. Also had a pick 2 combo: chicken mole enchilada and a cheese chili relleno. The relleno pepper was soft, cheesy and tasty. Mole sauce had a nice flavor. We'll definitely be back!"
"Takeout reviewI've eaten at the Waltham location years ago so I was expecting this place to be good and it was! Fresh hot food and super yummy hot salsa. Totally coming back here again!"
"I went to La Brasa last week at 124 Broadway, Somerville, MA. This spot features a wide variety of elevated dishes from around the worldFor appetizers we had the beet salad which had beets, fennel, apple, and mustard. We also had the elote which is Mexican street corn and flautas which were fried tortillas with meat inside. Finally, for apps we had the deviled eggs which had onion and chipotle aioli. For main dishes we had the squid ink pasta. This pasta was so fresh and homemade (so if you like the taste of fish this one is for you!)For dessert we had the banana pudding with ice cream. This had a great balance of sweetness. Would order this again! My personal favorites we had were the the street corn and the deviled eggs. Each dish was elevated in such a way that you just wanted to eat more and more of it!This is the perfect spot to meet a friend or have a nice date. The ambiance is classy and romantic check it out if you are in the area!Affordability: 6/10Ambiance: 8/10Food: 8/10"
"This place is so good, I went there before and had one fish taco right before they closed, and it was the best fish taco I've had in boston. So today, I had to go back to make sure that I was right. I'm not sure it was. This time, I got more than just a fish taco. I got the carne asada as well as the flan in the side of rice where refried beans and cheese were. My son got a burrito. I have chicken half carne asada. They take your order pretty quickly, and you only have to wait a little bit for the food. Though there is a buffet, some of the stuff gets girls fresh. The area itself is kind of small, but there was a bunch of people in there, and we didn't feel crowded, and there's plenty of places for people to sit. There is street parking, I guess it just depends on how many people are out that night to determine how many spots you can find. This place is definitely my new favorite. And everybody is cool and nice."
"The restaurant is in a bustling neighborhood with many restaurants in East Boston. Parking is easier during the weekend as resident parking isn't in effect. There is limited seating and many customers ordered takeout. If you opt to dine-in you would order and pay at the counter. The dining tables have really beautiful tile. The Carne Adobada came with soft tortillas and a plate of vegetables. The green cilantro sauce is amazing, you'd definitely want more! The pork was so delicious and full of flavor. A lot of people got the birria tacos."
"The Northeastern U area has quite a shortage of decent Mexican food. Qdoba..ehh, plus was way better in 2005 - 2010 time when the mole sauce existed. El Jefe's Taqueria is good but there lacks some flavor/spices. Same with Amelias Taqueria. Then came this place. Ordered delivery. First off one of the few places that serves pupusas, I think closest other place that does that is in Brigham Circle, so awesome! Also ordered double decker taco chicken tinga, burrito with barbacoa, chips and queso. - Pupusas: I ordered two, I think they need to update doordash because looks like there were two different kinds, both were delicious! The slaw was well seasoned but not watery, and the tomato sauce with it was excellent. - Double decker chicken tinga taco: I could taste the tinga flavors through and through, was great! My only regret, my own fault, probably should've skipped refried beans because the hard shell was soft by the time it was delivered. - Chips and queso: Queso tasted good, similar to taco bell nacho cheese. If you're not into that kind of cheese, skip it, but I like it. - One giant Barbacoa burrito: Won't be dissappointed by the size, they fill that tortilla to the brim. Trying to take a photo of it, but if I cut it in half, it would be quite a mess, but great ingredients, great barbacoa! I didn't ask for rice but was in there anyway, guess next time will put note no rice. All and all, good food delivered. Will stop on by one day in the restaurant too."
"We come here almost every Friday for what we call "Taco Friday". Our son goes to pre k nearby and on Fridays we take him to Henry Bear and then we eat here. Thankfully we do not go to Henry Bear as often (our back account is thankful) but he is still excited for coming to Boca Grande. Even though he just drinks the lemon water and never partakes in the delicious food. Anyway this is my favorite taqueria. I am a soft chicken taco holic and they seriously make the best soft tacos. The shells , unlike their competitors, never fall apart. Their meat is more flavorful and not so chewy. I just want all the tacos in my belly. My husband gets the chicken burrito and also prefers theirs to competitors. They have a tiny seating area so we've been lucky to always have seating. Their bathrooms are clean and convenient especially for a young kid in tow. They are a coke place ....huzzah. They do serve beer but never had any. Service and cooks are always friendly and they have memorized my order. Xox love your tacos for mi boca grande !"
"Tacos was the goal so we decided El Pelón Taquería. We were lucky enought to get parking right in front. There is a nice setup outdoors but I Wish they had more indoor seating because Boston is cold outside right now. The place seemed surface clean. I had to wet napkins with water from the soda machine and wipe the table down. And under the table needed to be swept. Chicken and steak tacos were good and flavorful. One issue was that the steak was slightly overcooked so the hot sauce kinda just sat on top rather than blending in like with the chicken. They were also topped with so many ingredients, they were hard to just pick up and eat. Get the napkins ready! Tried the pork burrito. It was laden with rice beans plus the pork was dry. If it just had more salsa it would have been perfect and added a freshness to the burrito, but i wasn't spending $5 to get a side of salsa. I would go back. Prices were reasonable and the food was good for a quick filling meal. Service was okay. Overall nice place but the food is definitely too messy to eat in the car."

On the road traveling and looking for authentic Tacos for breakfast (I.e. before 10am), and this fit the criteria. El Pikante is located across from the Framingham MBTA and part of a very large, well stocked Mexican mart. The food was made fresh to order. Also everything was delicious. We ordered a beef and pork burrito, fried chicken and chorizo taco. helpful to order in Spanish if you want substitutions. Best burrito I have had since 1995. The meat was crisped up on the grill, nice spice and very flavorful. The burrito wrapper also tasted homemade. It did not taste like it was it was out of a package and warmed up. Wonderful stop and worth the drive/ traffic!

I came with a group of ten and was happy to get a reservation that large at the last minute on a Sunday. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas, which were solid in themselves, although the rice was ever so slightly dry for me and the beans were pretty tasteless, alas. I enjoyed the Agua de Jamaica and found that they have a pretty good beverage menu. Unlike some places nearby, the chips and salsa are both very good. However, the tres leches cake was dry--not terrible, but dry, which is unfortunate. It's one of the few dishes where you want them to make it the day before so the milks can absorb into the sponge cake. All that said, our server was friendly and we had great conversation. On the whole, I'm not running back to Olé but would choose it over some other places.

I had a great time at this place. I celebrated my birthday here. I went for brunch and everyone said their food was great. My steak plate was delicious. The drinks were great and so was the vibe and decor. The music w videos on the big screen was nice. It was slow at 12 but I wonder if it's more poppin in the evenings. It is a hidden gem.

Tiny spot, hole in the wall, but the food is legit and delicious. Very authentic Mexican cuisine and the only good Mexican food I have had since returning from living in Southern California for the last 22 years. Extra points for a fantastic tacos al pastor and fantastic salsas.

The space was nice, the food was good but nothing too inspired or different and definitely overpriced for the small portions. Service was fine, nothing particularly special considering this was for a group birthday.

A solid option for affordable Mexican food in Mission Hill! It's a small place, definitely best for takeout or delivery. They were also ready very quick - walking from Simmons academic campus immediately after ordering, they were ready. The burrito bowls are super filling, although my chicken one could have used a bit more in it. It was delicious, jam-packed with beans, rice, cheese, and rice. Others in my group opted for tacos or quesadillas, and they looked great. I can't wait to try more!
Visit Restaurant Page"Food was good. Wait staff was excellent. Attentive. Yet left you alone. Portions were right sized - at least for me. I liked that you ordered items individually. You could order 1 taco. Or 3 tacos. Or 6 tacos. Option of outdoor seating. Parking on street or a big parking lot out back."
"My friend finally took me here after promising such a long time ago. She told me there was a parking lot but by the time we got there on a Saturday morning, there was one very narrow spot. A kind staff member tried to suggest how to get in but then recommended the school parking lot just across the street. It was a kind gesture and greatly appreciated. For appetizers we shared Pupusas lorroco and revueltas as well as Chicharron con yucca frita. The pupusas were larger than usual and came out pretty quick. They tasted good but fell apart very easily. Chicharron was crispy with the fatty layer still slightly soft and easier to chew into than usual. I personally would have liked the yucca fried for longer so that I could see more of a separation between the layers but still yummy with the pink sauce, tomato sauce and cabbage salad. For entrees we shared Huevos con chorizo and Camorones Al ajillo. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the variety of textures, temperatures and colors. Shrimps we're plump and delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Staff went above and beyond to continually check on us and complete our requests. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Highly recommend checking them out!"
"I stopped in for late evening takeout at the Chilacates Central Square location, which just opened recently. They have several other locations in the Boston area including in JP, Southie, South End, Mission Hill, Roslindale, Brighton, Brookline, and Newton. This is a fast casual Mexican eatery serving up made to order tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tortas, tostadas, taco salads, bowls, tamales, with choices of fillings, veggies, and meats. The cozy space has a cool vibe with limited seating inside. You can order online for takeout or delivery or in person. For takeout, I ordered the Carnitas Taco Plate ($14.95 plus tax) which comes with Mexican rice and black beans. My order was all set in about 11 minutes after ordering and I enjoyed my food back at the house. The 3 soft corn tortillas were wrapped in foil to stay warm and the decent amount of food was packed well in a foil container including the firm black beans, soft rice and plenty of tender carnitas, radish, cilantro, onions, lime, and sauces on the side. I made my own carnitas tacos which were filled up pretty good, as I enjoyed my late dinner watching TV. I would recommend this place for fresh Mexican takeout."
"Solid 3.5 stars. I ordered the grilled chicken burrito on toasttab for lunch and it was ready on time. I noticed that there is an up charge for additional toppings (i.e. lettuce) that other Mexican places don't usually charge extra for but it was decently priced for the larger size burrito ($11) The burrito was piping hot. Black beans were cooked perfectly, not mushy. Lots of rice and very little grilled chicken though, I wonder if it is like that with all the protein choices. Burrito had good flavor overall and the optional hot sauce on the side had good kick! Overall not a bad spot if craving Mexican food."
"I was hungry and in a hurry so I ordered takeout: a shrimp taco and a spinach and cheese pupusa. Wow! I've had many a taco and a few pupusas but not like this. As I always say in reviews, I'm a Parisian native and I'm pretty picky about my food from all regions. I was so pleasantly surprised about the quality of the ingredients and the freshness. It was really like home cooked food made by someone who cares. The pupusa was not deep fried, it was not greasy, it was just crispy enough on the outside and moist on the inside, and the cheese had flavor. The 2 small tortillas in the shrimp taco were handmade (!yes!) and flavorful, the shrimp was small but shelled, grilled, tasty and seasoned with cilantro, with the lime on the side and a slaw that was seasoned but not spicy (!yes again!) Side note: I always have a problem with spiciness levels. My palate cannot handle heat and I usually ask for not spicy or mild and still end up with my mouth on fire. It's annoying that I have to settle for food that is bland because there is too much heat in the dishes with spices.Anyway, I think the people who had a negative experience at Los Pinos probably didn't speak Spanish or their request didn't get across well. Because this is really good food, they care, and I'm grateful that I discovered them. I'm actually going back the same day to pick up more for dinner!"
"Been there twice and each time it exceeds expectations. The tacos are so fresh its nuts! The chips and queso and guac are insane. Beer selection top shelf. They have soccer on the large screen TV. Service was fast and polite. Don't know what other peeps issues are with this place but I love it. Enjoy!"
"It's no surprise that the food in this location is spot on and excellent, just as expected from my experiences in other locations. Haven't been disappointed yet with any of it (big fan of the shrimp, al pastor, naked bowls, enchiladas, tamales, and brunch items in particular, plus the tomatillo sauce you get on the side). It's the perfect spot for a filling lunch, a quick dinner, or a snack on the go. But the space in Rozzie is probably my favorite of the locations- large, bright, clean, airy, personality-filled, fun swings in the window, what looks to be a bar ready to be filled, and a small patio to the side. And *gasp* plenty of room to actually move around and socially distance, something that seems rare in the other locations. Service has been standard across my visits here- nothing to write home about but nothing to really complain about either, and it's fast casual so as long as staff isn't totally rude or forgetful, I'm happy."
"I absolutely love sunset cantina. The food and drinks are amazing, and reasonably priced. We ordered house nachos, shrimp tacos, chicken wings, and pina coladas. The portion size for the house nachos are extremely generous. The shrimp tacos are delicious. They are different from regular shrimp tacos, which are usually fried. The tacos comes with a side of beans and Mexican rice. Students get 15% off food and it is a popular spot during the school year. Service was excellent and our server, Alfonso, was super nice! Sunset cantina is perfect for any day of the week and any occasion! Overall rating: 9/10"
"We don't often eat grasshoppers, but when we do, they are from Tú y Yo in Powder House Square. Also, my first time trying cuitlacoche (Mexican truffle also known as corn smut, an edible fungus, considered a delicacy) which was stuffed inside the mini cheese quesadilla. It was quite tasty! Great food, décor and service!"
"This place was recommended by multiple people for authentic Pakistani food. I decided to try it out via UberEats. I ordered Chicken Botti, Chicken Biryani, and Beef Nihari. As a Pakistani myself, I definitely questioned the food when I saw the Nihari came with a side RICE and I had to order a Naan separately. Very odd. Eat your Nihari with Naan..not rice! Please owners..if you're reading this.. beef Nihari with side naan not rice. Other than that, the food was great. Probably the best desi food available in the Boston area. The biryani came with Raita that they call Nachlo sauce. The botti spice level can go up a couple of notches. Will definitely be back!"
"I tried Chivo in July 2023, so I'm not sure how much things have changed since then. I was excited to see a new restaurant on Mass Ave. The decor is festive and inviting.I got a burrito bowl with fried fish and shrimp. The fried fish was not worth getting -- not much fish meat. The shrimps were small but the sauce was yummy. They do have good flavors and many topping options. But overall, I've definitely had fried fish tacos and shrimp burrito bowls that I preferred to this one, both in terms of protein portion size and fry quality.I also tried a bit of the chicken. I thought it was stringy and not particularly tender, but it's possible that's improved since my visit.Overall, Chivo has great flavors but I wasn't a big fan of their protein options. It's comparable in quality to El Jefe's and Chipotle, though more expensive than both. I might return to try their breakfast options that people seem to like."
"We got takeout from there and the food was bomb. The Toki Tochos and the wings were so amazing and literally everything we got from there was so good. Highly recommend."
"We were in search of good pupusas not too far away from where we live. This was a win! It's a pleasant sit-down experience. They have lots of good beverage options- my bf Francisco P. & I had horchatas and our dinner companion had a papaya shake. On request, they can prepare the shake with water instead of milk. You can see the female chef in the kitchen preparing the food lovingly by hand. I tried the bean and cheese pupusas, which were very good. Our companion also tried the chicken pupusas, which she said were also very good. We thought they tasted freshly made, to order. I love that the pupusas had the bits of crunchy cheese that form when some cheese leaks out the side. I was also glad to have the red sauce and pickled cabbage for putting on top. Maybe next time I'd order more of that because I love the pickled cabbage, or curtido. My bf had a Salvadoran combo plate- that had a pupusa, a Salvadoran tamale, and a Salvadoran enchilada (which closely resembles a Mexican tostada). I had a taste of the tamale, which had chicken, & which I thought was really flavorful, and different in consistency than a Mexican tamale- softer."
"Having a Mexican restaurant replace the original Anna's is a tall order, and Chilacates definitely lives up to the billing. The fun and lively decor, the vibrant and colorful painting of Frida Kahlo in the back got my kids super excited to be eating out in our little neighborhood. It's been a long time since I've been able to order Torta and I was so excited to see it on the menu. The torta bread is delicious, with the bread the right amount of airiness and crunch. The Elote was well grilled with plenty of flavor. It's great to have this in the neighborhood. I'll be back for more!"
"We love this place! My husband and I stumbled upon it about 6 months ago, and we consistently enjoy our meals. We have always been seated right away, food quick, and super reasonable!"
"great servicefood isn't amazing but decent for all you can eat.as others have stated in their reviews, the food can take a while but our waiter allowed us to order as much as we wanted at once so we receieved more than enough.kale salad - too full to eat by the time I received it but would start with it"
"Experiences may vary. I quite enjoyed the enchiladas with al pastor- the meal was fresh and filling and huge/heavy, the meat was flavorful and juicy, and the Mexican rice and stewed black beans on the side were tasty and seasoned well. The tacos though had dry meat (various meats, including al pastor), like maybe they were under a heat lamp or something, and the refrieds were wayyyy too salty. We also tried the app sampler, which was nothing to rave about but not bad either: the cheese nachos were plain but the cheese sauce was flavorful, the elote was decent, and the chicken flautas were a bit on the burnt side but had lots of flavor. Mixed bag, but worth a try."
"So this is a new Mexican restaurant they've been open almost a year now so I thought I would stop by and give them a try the food was very good the service was great however the prices are on the high side you can walk out of there by yourself easily spending over $50 but the pricing is consistent with the restaurants in that area so I would definitely recommend but just be prepared for the sticker shop"
"Exciting to see more restaurants opening in the Charlestown area! Came to Naco Taqueria when it wasn't super busy so we easily got a table for a group of people. I ordered the taco bowl with shrimp and it was pretty good. The menu has a variety of starters and tacos as well. The portions are on the smaller side, but it's a good option for lunch if you're in the area."
"Fast casual food that hits the spot when you're craving Mexican! Food was presented nicely and priced well. Inside is quite drab and cramped so outdoor seating was preferred."
"My husband and I are visiting town and had burritos and street corn from achilito's yesterday - seriously top notch burritos! No spillage / mess, expertly put together, and no mistakes were made regarding what we wanted for fillings. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and authentic. I love burritos and am always on the quest to find a new top contender. Achilito's is now in my top 3 burritos that I have had anywhere! Service was quick and we will absolutely be ordering from here each time we come to town! 10/10 a must go. I have absolutely nothing bad to say! I wish I had taken a picture, but it disappeared too fast!"
"We have been here many times it is a lovely addition to Dedham Square. Great place to host a brunch the rustic decor is beautiful. The food does not disappoint and the service is superb!"
"Tacos & More reopened this week on Waverly Street, just west of the Natick TL. This cozy and casual Mexican restaurant and bar has a festive atmosphere with colorful and decorative tables and chairs and upbeat Mexican music blares over the speakers.I stopped by Tacos & More recently and dined in. The server/bartender brought out a complementary basket of warm crunchy chips and medium salsa and an ice water. I ordered the Shredded Chicken Blanco Chimichanga ($12.99 plus tax), which was served to me very hot in under 10 minutes. The portion of food was good which had a deep fried tortilla filled with soft shredded chicken topped with a white queso with a soupy refried beans, soft Mexican rice, lettuce and tomato (no sour cream?). The food tasted pretty good and it was very filling to eat. The check was $13.90 with tax and before tip. Overall, this is a good low key traditional Mexican restaurant (not packed) located close to another cozy Mexican restaurant and away from the busy Route 9 shopping and chain restaurant traffic."
