"We got take out from here yesterday. We got the chicken shawarma, chicken kabab platter and the mezze platter. The shawarma and mezze platter were quite good. Chicken kabob seemed like the meat was starting to turn. We let the restaurant know but they didn't seem to care. Anyways we will prob not order from here again."
"There's almost always a 20 to 45 minute wait here for brunch or lunch it seems. Now they have the cafe next door, which doubles as a lovely waiting room. Great addition! The teas were fantastic - we got the pistachio and turmeric tea. The food was great for the most part. Love the fusion of middle eastern and other flavors. Definitely unique in the area. My only constructive feedback: The donut holes were a bit too dense and doughy - would have enjoyed them if they were smaller. The brisket in the panini was too salty. The place was packed. It got incredibly loud at one point but calmed down after a while. Service was very good - no complaints there. Parking is easy - I'm usually able to find a spot in the lot."

I didn't want to finish it and ended up licking the plate clean. I did find saffron in the cream sauce!I don't recommend the chocolate cake dessert. Overpriced $12 slice of store bought cake. They bring out a plate of all the desserts available, feel free to ask for their pricing. The complimentary bread is cold and slightly stale but garlic oil makes up for it. Service is what it is when there's only one other table other than yours. Savinos is an expensive celebration place and I had the pleasure to dine at because of Nift gift.Plenty of street parking. Inspect your plates/glassware for being used."
"This is a must try! New to the neighborhood and I will most certainly be returning regularly. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. The service and atmosphere were lovely. Highly recommend!"
"I went to Fattoush located on 142 Massachusetts Ave, #ArlingtonMA This takeout spot features Mediterranean and vegan eats, including falafel, shawarma and babaganoush. For appetizers we had the Mouhamara dip with homemade pita chips. The Mouhamara contains aleppo pepper, walnuts, bread crumbs, lemon and an assortment of spices. We also have Tolma (Grape leaves) which had lemon juice, rice and onions. For entrees we had the chicken shawarma plate. This contained chicken on rice pilaf, side salad and hummus. We also had Lahmajun or "Armenian pizza" which is a #flatbread topped with minced vegetables and herbs including onions, garlic, tomatoes, #redpeppers, and parsley, flavored with spices such as chili pepper and paprika, then baked (my personal favorite!).Finally, we had Sujuk or Armenian sausage sandwich which is made with beef, lots of garlic and a mix of aromatic spices This place has great to go options for dips and/or desserts including baklava.I highly recommend checking out this spot if you are a lover of Lebanese Armenian and other Mediterranean eats.Affordability: 8/10Food: 8/10"
"Paolo's is a fantastic find in Saugus. It's warm and inviting. The host was so kind and was able to seat my handicapped father in a table near the door and space heater, which was incredibly appreciated. Our server was also wonderful. And someone, guessing it was the owner, stopped by to see how we liked our meal.I had the PSL martini. I'm not sure the bartender liked me, since they didn't put the rim on the martini and added a dried apple ring, which was odd. I thought they might be out of the rim, but since we sat near the bar, I could see it was added to other drinks. They also weren't the friendliest when I walked in--just stared at me and instead of saying anything when I walked up, rudely pointed to the host stand, which I had not noticed. Anyway, if they are working when I return, would not order a cocktail. Even though my drink was delicious. That was the only off-putting part of our whole experience, because all other staff were great.Food was delicious. Bread is great. Fried mozzarella hit the spot and the tomato sauce was incredible. I was disappointed that the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe was not available, as it was on the online menu but not the actual menu. It's one of my all-time favorite pasta dishes. But I ordered another fave--the chicken broccoli pasta. It was fantastic. My stepmother loved her mushroom pasta and my dad enjoyed his scallop risotto. For dessert, he ordered bread pudding and my stepmother and I shared the tiramisu, like, everything else, was fantastic. I'll absolutely be requesting that we visit Paolo's whenever I'm in town."
"The portions here are huge! I loved that they give you so much protein with anything you get. I got their gyro plate, which comes with fries, a salad, fries and pita. They fries are awesome, super well seasoned and crispy. The salad is kinda sad - super small, mostly lettuce and very little feta... the dressing is good though. The star is the meat, which was perfectly cooked with crispy pieces, however it lacked salt. Just a bit more salt and it would be awesome."
"Yay finally had a chance to visit this place recently. There is free street parking in front of the restaurant, making the pickup process easy.It is a takeout only place for now. I originally tried my order on its website, but you cannot pay online. I then tried my order via the Yelp app. Unsurprisingly, the prices from Yelp order is higher than its website. It's common practice (higher charges on a third party platform), so I was fine with it. The Yelp app gave me an estimate on the order time, but didn't provide completion updates. By the time I got there, my food was already ready and waiting for me. The owner (I think) greeted me warmly. The food is very good! The price isn't "cheap", but you are supporting local businesses. I have to say the entrees are on the sweeter side. I don't normally have Moroccan food, so I'm not necessarily used to the taste. The Paprika's Moorish Grilled Wings were so so good! Overall, very good quality food! Highly recommend it!"
"For a fast causal spot, quality here is solid. Their spanikopita was a surprising standout: so flavorful, so crispy, a must-get. Love the option to mix and match a variety of their dips, spreads, and meze: they have so many options that are bound to satisfy, including tasty grape leaves. And their meals offer a choice of sides as well: the lamb shank and green beans are both good bets. We were given mashed potatoes instead of the roasted potatoes we ordered though, and the Lima beans were actually gigante beans, so you might need to be flexible with your choices and confirm directly if you have dietary restrictions."
"Al-Shami is a tiny fast food joint, however the food is HUGE on flavor! Most people order for take out but don't mind the 10-15 minutes wait for preparation. Today there was only one man working and I was surprised by how quick and organized he was. Very smooth order and check out process. I LOVED the shish tawouk (chicken kabob) plate that comes with rice, pickles, and homemade garlic sauce. The portion is perfect for one person and reasonably priced at $10. The chicken shawarma wrap with garlic sauce, pickles, and fries is also delicious. The mohammara (mashed walnuts and red peppers) dip doesn't come with any bread, but glad we took it to go to use with the pita bread we have at home. You can order a side of pita bread and ask for some olive oil, if you like. I had the best fried sweet balls years ago during my first visit to Syria, where many food vendors serve it hot and fresh from the frying pot. The sweet balls here aren't as fresh but it's enough to satisfy any cravings you might have (for those who've had them before). I will definitely return OFTEN as possible!!"
"A M A Z I N G !!! everything closes shortly after fenway shows get done so we were in a pinch. we went over to model bar for a drink and to find take out that wasn't fast food and saw turkish lazuri next door. i'm so happy we ordered from them. i got a chicken doner. my friend got lamb. both were packed with meat, super freaking delicious. the staff was nice and the pick up time was extremely quick ! food tasted great even the next morning"
"Great Food! Great Staff Delicious Hummus ! Service was excellent, laid back ambiance and plenty of seating !"

We were looking for Mediterranean food and our usual place was closed so we decided to try Alanis. The interior is very clean and bright, with good seating both indoors and outside. The staff was friendly and patient. Service was quick even as they started getting busier. We were both very hungry when we ate so the food so it was incredible at the time. Upon reflection, it was quite average but still good quality. We got a Chicken Shawarma Pita and Gyro Wrap with fries. The sauce that comes with the fries is incredible! Do not skip this sauce! They also have pita or Syrian bread for wraps- we both got pita but definitely would try the Syrian bread next time. The sandwiches themselves were quite average but good. Overall, a decent place for some Mediterranean food.

My second time back, this time on a Sunday. Arrived just before the crowd at 8am. Our server, Brooke, was attentive and super friendly. We brought a friend from South Carolina. I love love love the tea service! We started with the daily donut hole special ( Meyer lemon) and OMG! Break off a bit of the dried lemon garnish and eat it with a bite of donut, and it's a party in your mouth! Our table ordered the farmhouse (eggs, bacon, home fries and toast), the fried chicken Benedict and I had the power bowl with sunny side eggs on top. My bowl was HUGE! The flavors of the largely veggie based interior was delicious, especially with the house made special sauce, but so large a portion, I took most of it home for later. Same with the Benedict--my sis ate one and took one! I tasted the crispy fried cutlet and it was very very tasty--seasoned in an atypical way but so addictive. I loved the Hollandaise sauce with Egyptian flair. Interior remains clean as a whistle and adorably decorated. Highly recommend! Visited the bakery shop next door, and all the pastries were expertly plated and of such high quality!

Savinos is a local gem. I've been here for celebratory dinners in the past, both pre- and during the pandemic, and everything has been delicious with great service in a classy (if a bit dated) atmosphere.Lately I've been enjoying their lunch, which is a great price (entrees around $15) for high quality meals that satisfy more than your typical sandwich of the same price in the area. I have a number of dietary restrictions (mostly gluten and dairy free), and they've been able to accommodate them while not compromising on quality. The grilled salmon is one meal I would get again and again. It comes with a refreshing salad alongside a red potato salad that's very lightly dressed with mayonnaise, just what I prefer. The steak is another good option for gluten and dairy free folks. It's easy to substitute items with more veggies. While I've enjoyed just about everything I've had there, sometimes they add a bit too much finishing oils, making some dishes too oily.My mom, who is a particular eater, loves the flatbread (toppings are a rotating special). She found the pasta bolognese to be a bit one note, though, with not much other ingredients. They don't have gf/df desserts, but I couldn't resist taking a bite of my mom's crème caramel. It is deliciously creamy! Reminds me of desserts in Paris when I could eat whatever I wanted. There's street parking and some outdoor seating for warmer months. If you do want to come for lunch, be sure to make a reservation on their website -- I think they still require them. We've also called them to get takeout, which has been super easy. Still, I prefer going in person to have a slice of elegant calm.

My husband and I popped in for dinner Friday evening. We had the eggplant which was delicious then I got the chicken banna stana which was delicious. He got steak tips and enjoyed them. Joy was working front of house and took care of us at the counter. She was so sweet and such an advocate for the restaurant. We are so happy to have Paolos in our neighborhood.

I've never had gyro before and am so glad I tried it here. The place is cozy and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. The meats were juicy and sauces were perfection. Definitely try this if you're in the area or looking for a bite before or after the Sox games.

Amazing owner amazing food He treats everyone like a guest as if this is his home. A very unique experience in the area. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

There's plenty of seating outside and a lot of parking spots. Overall id come back for a quick lunch or do takeout."
"What an exciting new place in the south end with very tasty southern-French style fresh food! The design and ambiance are modern-traditional French style that immerse you in the middle of the Vieux-Port!They are still in soft-opening mode till mid May but I'm very excited to try more of the menu on my next visit! Escargot were delish and buttery, Carpaccio was Tuna based and so refreshing and the Bouillabaisse is rich in aroma and flavors!!!! Service was great for a soft opening! To be continue!!!"
"I didn't get the chance to take pictures of my food, but I had a great experience at Moona! My only complaint was that I was seated by the door, so it was pretty cold, but that's not their fault. The service was top notch and my water glass was always full!In terms of food, we ordered the Brussels, Scallops, Shish Tawouk, and Date Molasses Steak Tips for mezza and the Chicken Tagine to share for the main. I really enjoyed each of the appetizers, especially the Date Molasses Steak Tips, which were cooked perfectly. I wasn't quite as impressed by the Chicken Tagine, but that might have more so been because I wasn't especially interested in the dish, not because it wasn't cooked nicely. I would come back again to try some more dishes!"
"OPA..... Stopped in recently due to a recommendation by Guy Fieri the Diner Drive In's and Dives. As usual his endorsement does not be great. I'd say it's a moderate Greek restaurant meaning not special to make me come back. The ambiance of of a traditional Greek joint with murals on the wall depicting urban Greece. Our waitress was a real Greek so this added to our experience but I can have that at in-laws house as well.Ordered a feta & olives plate , saganaki and two pork Souvlaki Gyros. Feta was dry and olives were smaller kalamatas. Not something lost Greeks serve. Gyros we're OK nothing I'd scream OPA over however the Saganaki was absolutely amazing. Real thick cut of cheese and perfectly charred. Reminded me of summer time dining in Athens. First class job on that one I loved it. Anyways try this place if your close by but don't drive out of your way based on TRIPLE D..."
"This little hole in the wall restaurant is my go to for takeout. Amazing food, and the portion sizes are huge. Can stretch the chicken plate to 3 meals if needed. If you pick up in person the staff is sooooo nice. They throw in little goodies to try and will tell you treats that aren't always on the menu. Usually have a stew cooking for those cold nights."
"Simple and cozy but, no Mediterranean ambiance. I came with a friend and we were greeted nicely by a young attendant. This place is family owned as he explained and you could feel that. I ordered yogurt drink and chicken kabob. The yogurt drink, it was my first time trying it and I just loved it. It was bit of a hot day and this drink did wonders in my mouth. On the main dish, taste was good but, the chicken, somehow was condimentes with not so Mediterranean flavor. It had a hint of Asian flavor in it and didn't know how to explain that. But, in general food was good. I'll have to comeback and try something else next time."
"Wow! Freshly prepared, delicious mediterranean food. Ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken kebab plate - both were so yummy! Falafel wrap was much larger than expected, generous amount of falafel, high quality mixed greens with the right amount of sauce all wrapped up in a fresh pita. Chicken kebab plate was served with rice, french fries, pita and two skewers of chicken perfectly spiced layered with onion, peppers and tomatoes. New favorite spot!"
"I was in town for a conference in the Seaport and wanted to find an outstanding restaurant for my first meal. After reviewing several sites, plus Yelp, I selected Chickadee. What caught my attention was several of the principals had worked at Barbara Lynch's No 9 Park and Chickadee's amazing 4.5 score on Yelp. It's self-described as a New England-born and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. There were plenty of reservations available mid-afternoon Tuesday on Resy, which I found surprising for a great restaurant. I selected a 6pm reservation.Having read an extensive review of Chickadee in Boston Magazine, I was ready to order quickly. I started with two signatures: the Smoked Sea Trout Dip and the Crispy Hen of the Woods. The Trout is buried under a layer of light hollandaise-like sauce. The Hen of the Woods mushrooms look like a crazy Bloomin' Onion atop a thick puree of potatoes, walnuts and garlic. Both were excellent and so unique.I was debating between the Spring Onion Spetzle or the Lobster Campanelle pasta. I asked Santiago, my server, which I should pick and he suggested the Lobster. He said the Lobster is somewhat spicy, with Calabrian chili. I asked for it to be served on the side.I can't put my finger on what I disliked about the pasta. It was bland. And the chili sauce was too spicy to be added. You'd think with lobster, it had to be good. I ate about a quarter of my plate and it just wasn't working for me. I set the dish aside and waited for Santiago's return. He asked me if I wanted to box it, and I said no.What I found odd is why he wouldn't have asked if there was an issue with the pasta. But since he didn't ask me, he'll need to read this review. After two amazing starters, I was disappointed with my entrée. As I walked out, the two managers thanked me for visiting, but didn't ask how my meal was.I don't know what would have happened if I told Santiago I didn't like the pasta. Ditto for the managers. Maybe they would have found some accommodation. Regardless, I tipped Santiago 20% and called it a night. I was in the restaurant for one hour."
"Trade in Boston, Massachusetts is a stylish and beautiful Mediterranean restaurant led by co-owner and James Beard Award-winning Chef, Jody Adams. We love a female chef. This is an easy-shareable spot. Almost every dish is shareable. The restaurants is inspired by the Greek way of life of fostering relationships, building conversations and connections over the sharing of plates. -website Every dish seemed like it had a meaning. All dishes we tried were rich in flavor and had a connection with Mediterranean cuisine. My group enjoyed the crispy calamari, burrata, hummus and pita, spinach pizzette, and then I had the tuna and rice bowl as my entree. We went for a non-drinking lunch but I must say something about the cocktails at this spot. The cocktails are fantastic and the bar is elegant and beautiful.Just a suggestions. No big deal! On fire halloumi cheese."
"Came on a Sunday morning a few weeks back for brunch. The place was pretty packed. I chose the Kathy Bates benedict b/c I'm a sucker for benedicts. The eggs were perfectly ooey-gooey, and I loved the avocado and fried green tomatoes. Things got messy quickly, but in a good way! It came with a side of home fries that were seasoned with an awesome spice mix--very unique and tasty.Pleasantly surprised and would definitely come back!"
"Ran across this store while scrolling through all the DoorDash delivery options. Gave the beef kebabs a try and I'm so glad I did. The meat was juicy and tender and the lemon potatoes were also very good."
"Top notch Lebanese food. I finally came here because my husband recommended it by meeting the young owner while pumping gas randomly. Well, this food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I highly recommend the baba ganoush and the hummus and the mix grill. I love the cauliflower and the falafel bites. Just perfect! There was only one server who was the cashier as well and she was super sweet and considering she was the only one, I made sure she was appreciated. The young owner showed up and he was so personable and sweet. I want to come back on a Sunday brunch because I was told that there was music so that would be very exciting for me."
"I came to this Watertown location only because we keep passing this in a car ride. Food is what I remembered from the Jamaican playing location, but this takeout was basically self-service kiosk and not even sure if they took cash which worked fine for me and once you place it you get your food. It's a little impersonal honestly, but it's such a tiny space to sit down like two tables and they have this whole back section which seems to be the kitchen I think, it was quite blocked off. Nice to know of this location I think this is just a good place to just take out."
"I fought the urge to choose a restaurant I know and love for our farewell dinner with work friends and instead decided to sample Nuovo before our departure. Fortunately, the group was in agreement because who is disappointed at the prospect of a plate full of pasta? I made a reservation for 7:15pm on a Wednesday and we probably didn't need one in retrospect but I like to play it safe. Right out of the gate, the service was great. Due to the staggered nature of the party's arrivals, our poor server had to introduce himself about 3 times but he had a great attitude. They have a solid drink menu with multiple options that speak to me. I settled on the coconut margarita and as a whore for anything coconut flavored, I really enjoyed this drink. It was definitely on the sweeter side, which I like, but if that isn't your thang I might recommend another cocktail. I subsequently ordered the grapefruit prosecco, which tastes as you would expect. Finally, I ordered an aperol spritz which was lovely and refreshing in the summer. Typically after 3 drinks I would be like bathing in an alcohol pool but on this occasion, not quite as much as I would expect after 3 drinks? Blame it on the carbs...One of the things that I loved about our dining experience is that our server didn't rush our asses whatsoever. We really wanted to relish the evening and our server asked for our orders one course at a time, allowing us to really draw the fuck out of it and enjoy each other's company. For our first course, we decided to share an order of arancini, coconut shrimp, and fig mascarpone. The arancini are 2 huge arancini balls, it says "stuffed green peas, deep fried, and a side of marinara sauce". This was IT. They were so crispy on the outside and tasted creamy and luscious on the inside. I would beg to differ on the peas part, as someone who is obsessed with peas my expectation may have been too high, but I didn't really notice them. Regardless, they were delicious. I do not eat seafood so cannot personally comment on the shrimp but I heard very good things, even from GF who is not usually a shrimp bitch. Unfortunately, we couldn't order the fig mascarpone because they were out of figs, to the big disappointment of one of my dining partners who was really looking forward to that shit. I considered ordering a salad to keep the pipes moving but something about how similar all of the salads on the menu seem changed my mind. Instead, I added a side order of broccoli to main order penne alla giardiniera which the server kindly helped me pronounce lmao. Both the drunk ziti and eggplant parm were on back up in case they couldn't accommodate my request of NO ONIONS but, to my delight, everything is made to order. At least, that's what I took from the server's response that I can "have anything I want". The pasta dish, penne with zucchini, summer squash, tomatoes, and spinach sauteed in olive oil, garlic, and a white wine sauce, was flavored wonderfully and provided a hefty portion of pasta. The pasta had a bit of a bite, but I would have preferred a touch more al dente. The broccoli was also enjoyable.Dining companions ordered one of their specials, pappardelle with shrimp and scallops, tortellini con funghi, and fettucine alfredo with broccoli and chicken. I heard nothing but rave reviews from those broads.Maybe we just drink too fast but on a couple occasions I had finished my drink and placed it on the edge of the table to draw attention to the fact that I would like to order a drink, without being asked. I would also like to add that the server MADE FUN of me for ordering a side of broccoli because I was ordering too many vegetables. I hate to think about how constipated someone is if adding a side of broccoli to a dish with vegetables is thought to be "too many vegetables". Anyways, this was a solid Italian spot on Shrewsbury St."
"Libertine is a Portuguese-Italian fusion restaurant and a must try for those who eat gluten-free! The menu is advertised as 98% gluten-free (with the exception of ravioli dishes, such as the lobster ravioli).Libertine has a generous drink selection which includes port wines, hard seltzers, mocktails, and of course gluten-free beers... on top of the standard beer, wine and cocktail selection. Each appetizer at Libertine can be made gluten-free. My table opted to go with the choco frito (fried Portuguese style cuddle fish). The cuddle fish themselves were lightly breaded and perfectly fried, and served with a garlic sriracha aioli. Ideally there could have been a few more pieces of cuddle fish for the $23 price tag, but it was filling enough as an appetizer. For main dishes, I ordered the lobster tail ravioli (non gluten-free) and my companion ordered the lobster tail carbonara, a gluten-free dish. Both dishes came out hot and in decently sized portions (not too small, but not big enough to take home for leftovers). The lobster ravioli came with six large ravioli. Both the ravioli and the lobster tail carbonara came in a creamy sauce filled with surprise chunks of lobster claw, which were cooked to an enjoyable and flaky consistency. The service at Libertine was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. Our server offered us dessert at the close of our meal, though we did not have any more room and declined to see the dessert menu. The check total was what I expected for Italian dining in the North End.There were a few other dishes on the menu that caught my eye and I'd like to try next time I am at Libertine, such as the grilled octopus, chouriço bombeiro, meatballs, and gnocchi sorrentina."
"Different blended kitchen I was confused,, Jamaican, Haitian, West Indian, American cuisine cute inside ,, cash only establishment and the server added her own gratuity which is not ok it was only 5 of us we paid it and left extra everyone was satisfied with the meals although grits, eggs, sausage & toast should never be $15 and when you ask for water there isn't a choice only bottled water they charge $2 for meanwhile at the local grocery its 24 for less than $5 smh ,,,, try for yourself and leave a review,,, no complaints on taste of food which came hot"
"Honestly had an appointment in Newbury St. in the late AM and this was a highly rated tapas place close by that we walked into for brunch with minimal expectations. I was so just pleasantly surprised at how amazing every dish and cocktail was! Everything i didn't try on the menu honestly looked so good as well and I plan to come back with my in laws to try out the rest of it! The service was also phenomenal and the beautiful weather paired with the outdoor seating and amazing food made for a wonderful Saturday afternoon for us! We will definitely be back!"
"Small place (seats 10-15) with an unassuming store front, on a busy/trafficky street. Passed by so many times but never thought to come in, till I came across all the positive reviews and think I should give it a go.Walked in right around noon and found the place empty but with frequent call-ins, then few other trickled in to sit down -- seems like all locals who've been there done that.Settled with a couple spread/dip, a salad, and a mixed grill, with baklava as dessert. Lady in the store was very nice, working nonstop to handle front of house from taking orders to wiping tables down. She was attentive enough to tell us to inform her when we are done with our meal so she would then bring us the dessert.Everything on the plate was simply DELICIOUS. Flavorful spread/dip and rice, meat was tender and yum. Definitely a splurge for lunch for 2, but with the variety of proteins and portion size (had enough leftovers for both), that's actually cheaper than each of us getting a regular plate.Wished I had time to try their coffee. Maybe next visit!"
"Amazing Middle Eastern food. Fast and healthy, with lots of choices and good prices. I ordered the shawarma plate but no rice and a side of hummus. The whole dish was amazing."
"We came here on 10/28 for our first wedding anniversary dinner. Starting with the bread.. the butter that they give you is amazing and creamy. My lobster bisque had me wanting more. My husband got the pasta and ate almost the whole bowl. The steak bites had a mesquite flavor to them but they were good to. I felt like our server was stretched a little thin but overall good place."
"Best alternative that they can have at the mall for healthier food since Subway disappeared. Was very impressed with the size of the salads. All their food is made with fresh ingredients. So that's a plus -because at the actual food court you're not going to encounter that.Husband had the steak plate and loved it. Friendly customer service as well."
"I wanted to take the time to update my review. The best part? Nothing has changed. Still super delish, large, fresh portions."
