Still a solid location for hot pot in the greater Boston area. Their broths are delicious. Love their black bone chicken and herbal broths. My wife loves their mala broth. Great service and top quality meats and veggies. We always leave here stuffed.

The hot pot broth is really the star of the show at Little Q! The aromatics fill the air. And the soup is drenched in flavor. Recommend getting the beef, lamb, iced beancurd/tofu, and S.T. Noodles with mala and herbal broth. The sukiyaki sauce was tangy! Not quite what I expected, but paired nicely with the soy sauce. The shrimp dumplings were highly disappointing. They were most like thin cigarette-shaped rolls with a thin layer of mystery meat inside. All in all, this is a more authentic and no frills hot pot experience compared to the chain locations. Even on a Friday night, it was easy to get a table without a reservation!

Damnit, I have loved this place for years. The food is soooo good, especially on a cold day, it's my go-to winter restaurant for sure. BUT...Last night my daughter and I went and she found a fly in the broth. Gross, right?Well we pick it out and put it in a plate to show the waitstaff. She comes by, picks up the plate, moves the fly around with her finger and the puts the plate back on the table with the fly still on it. Says nothing. Tends to a few other tables and then 5 minutes later comes back with the chef. He did the same thing. Fly still on plate, still on our table. No one even said sorry!!Then they brought the bill, no apologies, no discount. I get that accidents happen. I get that even though kitchens are supposed to be clean and bug free, they often are not, but seriously, APOLOGIES GO A LONG WAY!! So sad.

This restaurant took a nosedive after Covid. They nickel and dime over everything including scallion for your hotpot sauce. The portions are now tiny and the prices are much higher with rude service. Avoid it if you can.

Sadly the portions for hot pot much reduced and prices are up...very disappointed. I still love their hot & sour soup.

Hot pot: Was good for 10 years, then they 'upgraded': raised the prices and reduced the portions. Soup base is good. The quality of the food is average to good. Service is meh. Way overpriced for the measly portions.

First of all you have to be in the mood for this type of meal. It's work. If you just want to be served a meal, this place isn't for you. Yes, they do have traditional dishes, but they're so so. There is fear of cross contamination everywhere. Plates of raw meat mixed in with all your food. A bit anxiety provoking. Then we get to the service. The entire waitstaff, even on a busy Saturday, is a mother and son team. If you're in a hurry, not your best bet. Service is infuriatingly slow. I'm just exhausted after this meal. Won't hurry back unless I'm looking to work and wait.

Four and a half stars. I haven't eaten at Little Q Hot Pot since before the pandemic. I always thought of it as a place to eat amazing hot pots. Tonight on a Tuesday my usual Chinese spot was closed and I noticed Little Q was open for takeout. In addition to their hot pot offerings they have a pretty typical Americanized Chinese food offering. So I ordered a bunch of my family's go to items. Beef teriyaki, steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, chicken lo mein, and a new one: spinach chicken. When I arrived to pick up the restaurant smelled amazing, lots of people were eating hot pot and it was delightfully steamy inside on a below freezing night. The employee was very polite and offered me a seat to wait two minutes for her to assemble my order. Here's how the dishes fared: beef teriyaki-good - would order again; dumplings-okay (would try fried dumplings next time, the skin was too thin for me); hot and sour soup-bland - would not get again; scallion pancakes- fine but will still order again (home taste set a very high bar); chicken lo mein-excellent-will definitely order again; spinach chicken-phenomenal-so fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned- highly recommended; white rice - very good and not dry - this is not as easy to pull off as one might think. All in all a wonderful dinner. We will be back. Thank you, Little Q!
