There aren't a lot of Vietnamese options in Cambridge, but Le's is decent. They have a pretty big menu and a fairly large restaurant with bar seating plus additional upstairs and downstairs tables. The Bun Bo Hue with shin meat and pork hocks is a classic. The hocks were meaty and delicious and the soup was tasty to the last drop! I recommend the steamed vermicelli dishes (#44-47 on the menu) in a group setting as it is an interactive dish that comes with ingredients that you put together. We got the 47 (Grilled Vietnamese Ham with Steamed Vermicelli) and it was delicious! It came with ham, fish sauce, vegetables (carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and other asian herbs), peanuts, and rice paper. First you dip the rice paper into a bowl a hot water to soften it and then you put all the other ingredients into it and wrap it into a roll. The rest rooms were okay, but didn't seem the most clean or best kept. Their decor is vintage and a bit lacking. Service was average for an Asian restaurant so don't be shy to ask the server for things. Overall, I still think the Vietnamese restaurants in Dorchester are the best, but if you're in the area, Le's is worth a try.

I took my first visit to "Bosten" yesterday (always mispronounced it "Boston") to MIT Museum, Harvard Art Museums, Harvard Square, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston's Chinatown, and Downtown, all fine but maybe not worth the difficulty in driving in Boston!, and no adequate parking. What makes Le's Vietnamese Restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts so popular around MIT and Harvard? Not evident: I didn't enjoy their main food selections with any gusto usually reserved for my favorite cuisine but limeade and tricolor dessert were superlative while not being adventurous.Only the Peanut Sauce was flavorful in Le's Vietnamese's Shrimp Summer Rolls. Grilled Shrimp, Pork and Crispy Spring Rolls Vermicelli was tasty and adequate but Fish Sauce was bland.I ate underwhelming Caramelized Salmon with a bad bowl of white rice. Too small salmon portions, had barely any caramelization, lacking deep and intense flavors, and white rice was overcooked. It's not rocket science... There are so many amazing, easy-to-use rice cookers.Iced Jasmine Limeade, refreshingly light, tangy, herbal, had the perfect amount of sweetness. Lovely Vietnamese Tricolor Dessert: sweet red beans, mung beans, gelatin, syrup, and coconut milk topped with ice amped up the tasty quotient.

We went to this place because the menu posted on the front window looked very legit. When we walked in, the waitress, who was still wearing a mask, had plenty of tables towards the front of the place decided to put us way in the back at a tiny table for 4 people. The table was wobbly and I refused. She looked pissed and told me not to mess up her procedures. I told her nope I want the other table. She had to give it to me. Then, she never went to take our order. We had to flag down another waiter to take our food. Meanwhile, 2 ladies walked in and that waitress gave them the same size 4 person table In nice spot in the corner. She brought out menus for the 2 ladies while 4 of us had to use the stupid QR code to pull up the menus. The other waiter was very nice. We ordered 2 orders of vietnames eggrolls, which the description indicated that they were super legit, made with rice paper skin, not wheat like Chinese eggrolls. We ordered Banh Xeo, papaya salad and pho special. They gave us the banh xeo, papaya salad and pho. We started eating those and noticed the banh xeo was extremely coconut heavy flavored. This is not how banh xeo was supposed to be. The pho was very decent, however, and so was the papaya salad. After waited for a while we asked the waitress again about the eggrolls. Later on, another waitress came out and said they were sorry but they had so many take out orders that they are running behind on eggrolls. It will take a while to get our order. This was when we said just cancel the order, we paid and left. Overall impression was not good. The only good person there was the non-Vietnamese waiter. The others were terrible with customer skill, logical reasoning and basically critical thinking. Well, I'm going to be in Boston quite a bit but never again will I go here.

It is located on a side street with limited street parking. I ordered a beef soup. The waiter asked me if I like tendon. I did not realize it but that was the type of meat in the soup. Additionally, I thought the broth was salty. So much for understanding the menu. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday morning. I had to ask to be seated, ask for a menu, ask to order and ask for my bill. I guess they were short staffed.Overall I was disappointed with this restaurant. I would try another restaurant if I had a choice.

Been years since I was back at Le's but came for a quick meal before a show with my wife. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, portions fresh and large and price was reasonable. Honestly impressed this spot is still so solid!

I grew up eating Vietnamese food in TX and now live in CA. I think Boston/Cambridge is not the place to expect the most amazing Vietnamese food ever, so please check your expectations and consider this place in this context. That being said, as others have mentioned, Le's is pretty solid and has a nice variety on their menu. I was looking for a casual, simple Vietnamese dinner experience, and this was it! I was disappointed that my spring rolls didn't come with lettuce, and the owner noticed and brought some out right away. He was super nice, and we had a nice conversation about eating spring rolls the traditional Vietnamese way, and he said just ask for whatever you need. My pork chop rice was a good portion and very satisfying; my eating partner enjoyed her grilled chicken rice plate. I should mention - the spring rolls were yummy! The ambiance is casual, the prices were very reasonable, and the staff were friendly enough!

Great food, quick service, and reasonable process. This restaurant really holds down the garage (the building that it's part of). The only shortcoming is that the ambiance is a bit lacking: a bit dark and unexciting

Unfortunately, this isn't the good kind of 3 star review for an asian place. If I were absolutely dying for my viet fix, maybe I would come back. I cant speak to their pho, and my partner seemed to enjoy his, but I got the pork and spring roll vermicelli bowl and was disappointed. The sauce was very watered down and my pork was somehow ...crunchy? As in cartilage kind of crunchy. Our summer rolls were pretty good, but we had to remind them that we had ordered them. Nothing bad with the service, the people were very kind and frankly, for the price, makes sense for a college student go-to, just not quite up to my standard for viet food, being spoiled by San Jose viet my whole life.

Avoid going here if you're under schedule.Food was decent, three of us got two beef phos and a veggie pho with a glass of sake. Broth was alright and food tasted like any other Vietnamese restaurants in town. But I was really disappointed with the attenttiveness/speed of servers here, it took them so long to gave us a glass of sake and no one came and checked on us during the service, even though the business was not busy at all.

A good place for a pho fix in the area! Spring rolls were crunchy and fresh, pho was warm and filling, ambience was laid back. This place will satisfy the craving for a warm broth you soup and hits the spot. The hardest part was getting the bill to leave - the servers are a bit hard to flag down but everything was absolutely delish.
