I honestly don't get the terrible reviews. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. It is however, an all right home cooked meal. It's kinda cool how down to earth and old school this restaurant is, especially the mom and son running it together. I didn't hear any bickering or fighting just got a very Sopranos-vis a vis Silvio and Paulie vibe. What I will say is it's pretty pricey for what you get - we had one glass of Chianti, one Diet Coke, a side salad, one lasagna and lobster ravioli (which brought a total of 5 not so large pieces of ravioli) and the check was $72. Something. Is it fantastic? No. Is it terrible? Definitely not.Pictures to follow -

I would give 0 stars if I could based on the attitude we got from the man we presume to be the manager or owner. We were already wary about going here due to every other restaurant in the north end being packed and this restaurant only having 1 person inside, but we were hungry so we stopped before heading to the airport. We were sat at a table, and then before we could order I got a message about an issue regarding our flight home that needed to be resolved immediately. We apologized to the server and started to see our way out. The male manager/owner figure immediately came over with an accusatory attitude demanding to know why we weren't ordering, and I explained to him that we have an emergency regarding our flight by home. He proceeded to talk bad about us to the server while we were still in the restaurant and made a comment about us not even leaving a tip. After reading the other reviews about the quality of food, food safety practices and attitude of the employees that other people have experienced I'm glad we did not eat there. Definitely a reason it's the only empty restaurant in north end!

This place is so bad. Awful food, rude staff, bad service, unsafe dining practices. I am not sure how it remains open considering it's always empty and located on what's probably one of the most expensive real estate spots in Boston. Please open an investigation on this place.

Yet another wonderful experience. Mary took care of us as if we were her own family. I've seen the reviews that give less than 4 stars, and I have to wonder if they are at the same place I am. Yes, you hear some yelling and disagreements in the staff - I love it. Being used to large family gatherings, it's like being home without having to do the dishes.Yet another wonderful experience. Was THE BEST Lasagna I ever tasted! It was a true joy to have this scrumptious meal! The friend Ronnie who took me there, happened to know the owner, so I got to meet the chef, who was welcoming and made me feel like family! Parking can be hectic, but you can find something on the street- the stroll to the location is absolutely lovely as well!

Wow! Found this place by "accident". Son was craving pizza, other italian resto here didn't have pizza so we entered this place and boy we are so glad we did!!! Legit italian place..food and owners (servers). Good thing wasn't crowded when we did. Complimentary bread was served with huge block of butter . Pizza dough was homemade, you can tell! Servings are huge!!! Frutti di mare was enough for 2 peeps and I can eat! They all taste great! The place has a bar in the back too. Ambiance of the place is perfect for that Boston walking . Would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you.

DON'T GO!!! Lasagna was cold in middle, owner/grandma had the runs from bad watermelon - too much information. Keeps the lights now so can't see the dirty walls and floors. Flying gnats/bugs. Plastic water cups and soda in can with straw. Be careful, gratuity added at the end on handwritten receipt so didn't realize until we left. If you want a nice meal at the north end, don't go here

Extremely poor food quality. You're far better off waiting at one of the other Italian restaurants for a table to become open.

This place has soggy, greasy, pizza. Bad service, i feel bad for the waitress that had to serve us our meals. The restaurant was dirty, like come on mannnnnn is it that hard to clean up? Also it was $35 for a SMALL pizza. Wouldn't recommend 2/10. P.S. Their pasta is undercooked and rock hard.
