I ordered delivery from here last night. I got a variety of items and they were all super delicious. The homemade noodles were some of the best I've had in any cuisine, period. Seriously masterful work! I'll be thinking about them for weeks, I think. Everything was seasoned well, big flavor bombs - and perfect cookery. I'm really looking forward to trying the rest of the menu and dining in. I've often felt lukewarm on Uyghur food due to my experiences at the few other places in town. It's never bad - but I'm sorta left just wishing it was Uzbek. However, Jahunger showed me what this cuisine could cuisine can really do. Super impressed. If I had *one* note its that the polo dish was perhaps too steeply priced for the portions. While it's delicious, it's the only dish I had I'd hesitate to order again.

It's always exciting seeing a new restaurant show up in Cambridge. Alas, that's the only good thing I have to say about this Uyghur restaurant. We went on a busy Friday night and had to enter the waitlist, though we got seated in less than 2 minutes. Afterwards, most parties had to wait up to 15 minutes to get their seats. It's so busy, it must be good right? We tried the Polo lamb fried rice and the chicken stew. Both very pricey ($21 and $32 respectively). The lamb was incredibly dry, and the portion of the rice was pretty small for its price of $21! The stew was OK, but full small bone fragments due to how they cut the chicken. There could have been way more vegetables (peppers and potatoes) for the $32 price (that's about what it costs for an entire roast duck in Chinatown!). Anyway, both dishes were pretty mediocre and did not meet our expectations, having been to other Uyghur food joints in the Boston area. Given the price and quality of the food, I can see literally no reason to ever come here again or recommend this, unless you are just craving the world's driest meat.

This place is tucked away in the middle of a quiet neighborhood of Cambridgeport, but the inside was bustling with full tables. I think the waitstaff were quick to requests/orders, but were too busy for any detailed service, which is fine if you're ok speaking up.The text on the menu is extremely small and hard to see - not particularly friendly. In terms of the food - I think the highlights are any sort of chili oil and/or lamb flavors coming through.-Lamb Dumplings: we had to order it twice because it was really quite good. Skin is purposefully thicker and chewy, and the best part is how juicy, tender, and delicious the filling is.-Lamb on Dry Land: good amount of spice, and the way the naan soaks up the oil makes it super fun. All of the components mesh well together.-String Beans: maybe because they were busy, but the beans were overcooked and a bit too soft. The chili oil flavor was excellent, though.-Jahunger Noodles: the only disappointing dish we ordered - the noodles don't soak up much flavor, and overall the taste was similar to a standard take-out noodle dish and not particularly a standout.

I loved Jahunger when I tried them for the first time in Providence and was super excited to hear that they were opening a location in Cambridge. The restaurant hasn't fully opened yet but they are currently doing takeout and delivery orders. I was both excited and a little nervous about whether the dishes would be just as good as they are in Providence and can happily say that the taste and quality is the same. I picked up samsa, kavap, Jahunger noodles, and lamb on dry land. I must say that their samsa is probably the best samsa I've had. The dough has a mild bready flavor that gets super crispy on the top and the filling is moist and flavorful. If you like spicy cumin lamb skewers, then I would highly recommend the kavap! The skewers are smoky, tender, and coated with lots of cumin and spice. I first tried their Jahunger noodles when I visited their Providence location. The noodles are hand-pulled and cooked to chewy perfection. Each noodle soaks up the garlicky soy-based sauce. The noodles are stir-fried with onions, chives, garlic, dried peppers, and beef, so the dish as a whole is fragrant and flavorful. I could eat this again and again. The lamb on dry land came with a generous portion of lamb stir-fried with onions, bell peppers, and pieces of naan. The naan soaked up so much of the sauce that the lamb was a little more dry compared to the noodle dish. However, everything was still very flavorful and I loved how this dish had a different flavor profile than the Jahunger noodles even though there were a lot of overlapping ingredients.Highly, highly recommend checking out this business and getting some delicious Uyghur food!

Amazing food, even for vegetarians/vegans. Janaya was really patient and thoughtful with us despite the packed restaurant. We ordered every vegetarian thing on the menu then proceeded to eat all of it.

Visiting Jahunger in Providence a few years ago was a formative experience for me. I can't believe that Jahunger came to Cambridge before I could return to it! We grabbed takeout (you can order online), but it turns out that they opened up seating as well (could probably seat ~30 people). We had the noodles at home, and they were delightful. The Jahunger noodles ($17.85) are a must-get. Oh my gosh. This was even better than I remember. It comes with beef that is super tender and smooth, and bursting with flavor. The noodles are nice and chewy, and I'm sure they would taste even better in person (I will go soon to confirm). The seasoning is tingly and savory and everything nice. Just writing this is making me want to go there tomorrow. I think the portion size could be a bit better -- I could use more noodles -- but the dish is just such a delight. We also tried the Original Meefen ($16.80) which was also great. The seasoning was a bit overly salty, so we ended up saving a lot of the ground meat and green bean topping to eat with carbs later. The noodles were perfectly cooked and took on the flavor of the toppings well. I liked the crunchy soybeans in the topping. I would get this again as well.It seems like this location is just as good as the one in Providence, so I'm looking forward to frequenting this location. The food holds up pretty well as takeout, but I think the Jahunger noodles would be better in person. Eagerly awaiting my next visit!

Excellent addition to Cambridge food scene! The food and service was impeccable. We went around lunch time on a weekend and it was packed with a wait time so we decided to order take out. In the meantime, a table opened up and we requested a change to dine-in - even though our request was tricky to handle and we let them know that it's perfectly fine if they can't manage it, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Oh and the food was amazing! The lamb on dry land and the lamb dumplings are a must have.

Only hand pulled noodles around. Great service, I always prefer to eat in. Water available at table, carafe kept full. Lamb dishes good but expect more at Uighhar restaurant. To be fair it is new.No wood fires dishes, but I expect that's a City of Cambridge restriction.

One of the best places I've recently tried in the Cambridge/Boston area! The Jahunger noodles were insanely good--garlicky, spicy (in the numbing, tingly way), and just so flavorful. The beef was super tender, and the texture of the noodles was also great; it had the perfect amount of bounce and chewiness. The chicken stew was equally amazing. The bright red soup was spicy and flavorful from the chicken. The hand-pulled noodles had a great texture, and was a great vehicle for the spicy soup to cling onto. The lamb polo was okay. The lamb was not super gamey (which I appreciated, as someone who doesn't usually like lamb), but the dish as a whole kind of lacked flavor. The spicy Meefen noodles were also pretty good, but definitely not as good as the Jahunger noodles. It was a bit oily and some of the pieces of chicken were a bit tough. My only complaint would be that the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Also, note that there is a 20% gratuity already included for larger (5+?) groups, which we unfortunately didn't realize as we were not informed.
