I came here for their nuoc mia tac (sugar cane drink with kumquat) and was quite disappointed. They have a lot of competition around them (Ba Le, King Do, etc.) and I wouldn't choose this place over them. I think King Do's is the best. King Do's nuoc mia is very sweet and the kumquat helps enhance that flavor very well. Here, the nuoc mia is just very tart and the sugar cane flavor isn't very fresh.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. It's a rainy day so the place was warm too and smelled of food. Tried their Taro Boba Tea and it was pretty good. Not too sweet and just right.

I got two sugarcane drinks here and the banh mi thit nuong, which were both good! I have a hard time finding good sugarcane drinks on the east coast, but Mama's kitchen had the right flavor, though it was a little too sweet. I would be interested in coming back to try some of the other things on the menu like banh cuon.

Dining method: Counter serve/take-outItem(s) ordered: Iced teaValue: Over $5 is a bit overpriced for iced tea, but it was a nice brewThe review: Mama's Kitchen is a Vietnamese mom-and-pop shop in Dorchester, specializing in fried chicken and banh mi. The place is a bare-bones café with some little trendy flourishes like a photo backdrop. Naturally we did not get any of the specialties (eye roll, why Ayaaa) but had a hankering for a cool drink. I asked for an iced tea, without specifying a kind) and the women immediately got to work making something. We ended up with a very refreshing, iced oolong! It was delicious and definitely hit the spot. This place seems like a regular neighborhood spot with great boba tea options, and had I lived in the area, I'd be here more often!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place! I was craving sugar cane juice and they delivered. They make it in house right in front of you! I got the OG juice but the strawberry and boba was amazing as well. The owners are Vietnamese and they are so sweet and patient. This place is a fun hangout place, they have a cute backdrop for photos! Must try if you are in Dorchester or just make the trip, I promise it is worth it!

This place have the best bánh cuốn in Dorchester. The rice rolls are very thin and doesn't fall apart. It's never mushy like other places. You need to call and order ahead because they are made to order. The reason for the 4 stars rating instead of 5 is that their service is very slow. I remembered waiting 15 mins for 2 sugar cane drinks. Their menu is noy accurate either because you only see the fried chicken, banh mi, and drinks items. They also make rice rolls, fried rice (to order) and so many other Vietnamese dishes. It is a new establishment, so I expect them to update their menu soon.

Small local mom and pop shop. Wifey was craving sugar cane but doesn't like the sugar cane drinks from the usual spots so we decided to check out mama's kitchen. They have a wide selection of sugar cane drinks, if you want to try a sugar cane drink or have lots of sugar cane drink options, check out mama's kitchen.

Came back twice to Mama's kitchen in a week! I believe this is the only place in the area that has a variety of sugarcane juice flavors.I really like the passionfruit sugar cane juice there (no pulp). I also had the pineapple sugar cane juice which was also nice but much preferred the passionfruit. Price wise - it's a bit pricey. It was about $8 for a drink so it's definitely a once in awhile treat. For food, I tried their chicken and wasn't a huge fan however I'm looking forward to trying their other menu items though such as their ice cream and fish filet sandwich!
